Sooyoung, Yuri and I had just arrived at the KBS studio. Just as we got out of car I saw a few cameras flash in our direction causing me to jump a little. I really should be used to all this by now, but it still threw me off every now and then. We waved in their direction and continued in to the building.

We followed hyung once we got inside because we had no idea where we were going. It was our first time on this show. I was very excited to be here though, we all were. It was the first time we were a main guest in a talk show setting. We would get to show our personality more and I was thankful for that. Looking back we only really got the chance to do so a few times. All the other times we were over shadowed by the more popular guests.

We weren’t going to be alone today on the show however. It was going to be three other people other than Soo, Yuri and I. I couldn’t be more excited though for one of them was none other than my favorite person in the world. Tiffany Hwang. Sunny was also going to be here along with a member from SHINee, I wasn’t sure who, but I’m sure we would soon find out.

We finally found the right studio and walked inside, we greeted the PD and continued on to where we needed to be. I didn’t see Tiffany or anyone else around yet, but then suddenly Shinyoung came from behind the camera area. We greeted her and bowed slightly.

“Ah, ne. Annyeonghaseyo. It’s your first time here right?” We all nodded. “You’ll do fine, don’t worry. I’ll be back soon,” she said as she left the area again.

Well okay then, I thought. I then heard the door open behind me and quickly turned to see that it was only SHINee’s Key. We met around a week and a half ago at Sooyoung’s mini birthday party so it wasn’t completely awkward.

We greeted him with a bow as he then returned it seeing how we were all older than him, but he was our senior within the company.

“Is SNSD not here yet?”

“Ani, we were the first ones,” Yuri replied.

“Ahh. Oh well. I had a nice time at your party though, thanks for inviting me.”

“Yeah no problem!”

“Hey why don’t we all go get our mics on? Everyone else should be here soon.”

“Okay. We didn’t really know what to do since our manager just kind of left us hanging here,” Sooyoung explained. Key laughed with us and then led us to the area for our mics, and then to the lady to know where we were supposed to go next.

Twenty minutes later we were all ready to go and in our seats. We were just missing one thing. SNSD. I had texted her a couple times earning no response. I was kind of beginning to worry until I heard voices coming from behind the stage.

“Sorry!” “We’re really sorry we’re late! Our previous schedule ran longer than it should have!” I smiled slightly upon hearing it was her.

“Don’t worry about it,” one of the MCs said.

“It’s okay, please just get your mics on and take your seat,” the PD directed.

A few minutes later Sunny sat down beside Key and then Tiffany thankfully sat down right beside me. I could have kissed the director right now. I was slightly, okay very nervous. As soon as she sat down and smiled at me though, it almost all completely went away.

Not long after they sat down the cameras started filming and we heard a voice come from overhead.

“Tuesday, when everyone is happy, Sang Sang Plus!”

“Today we have TYS’s Kwon Yuri, Choi Sooyoung and Kim Taeyeon.”

“SNSD’s Tiffany, Sunny, and SHINee’s Key,” the other MC finished.

“Wow!” We all then greeted the MCs on the show.

“We’ve prepared a different type of introduction today,” Shinyoung announced.

“That’s right!”

She continued. “They will introduce themselves in an Idol Style. Let’s start with Yuri!”

Oh crap, what was I even going to say? I had totally forgotten about this part.

“Hello everyone, this is TYS’s charming Kwon Yuri!”

“Ahh since none of us quite know you yet, what exactly is your charm?”

“Uhm, this and that. No one’s managed to figure it out yet,” Yuri explained causing everyone in the studio to laugh. We were off to a great start. I just needed to think of something to say about myself.

“I am TYS’s shikshin, Sooyoung!”

“Their shikshin eh?”

“Ne, I like food very much.”

“Seriously. Shinyoung he would give you a run for your money in an eating contest,” Sunny chimed in.

“Jinjja? You really eat that much?” The MC’s and Key were all surprised. Sooyoung just nodded. That’s it! Since people call him a shikshin I’ll just use what every calls me.

“Wow, that’s incredible. Alright next.”

“Annyeonghaseyo, I am TYS’s kid leader Kim Taeyeon.”

“Why a kid leader?”

“Well I’ve heard many times that I don’t look my age, and everyone is always surprised I’m not the maknae.”

“I was,” the MC sitting beside the laughing Shinyoung said. “Who is it?”

“Sooyoung-ah, he’s a year younger than the both of us.”

“Ahh wow, that is quite surprising since there is a bit of a height difference.”

“A bit,” I questioned causing everyone to laugh again.

“Very good. Tiffany, you’re name isn’t really Tiffany is it?”

“No, actually it’s Steph-“

“Oh come on its Hwang Miyoung,” Shinyoung called out.

“Going by the name, I’d guess you were in your 30’s?” I almost couldn’t even focus on the conversation, every time I looked at Tiffany she would be smiling widely showing off her perfect eye smile. It took everything I had not to stare.

“This sides even older,” Tiffany protested as she pointed to Sunny, breaking me out of my thoughts momentarily.

“Oh Sunny?”

“Ne,” she replied. “My name is Lee Sunkyu.” I could hear the MCs  all ‘oohing.’

“It sounds like one of my grandmother’s friends,” another MC said.

The MCs then asked Key a few questions that I definitely couldn’t focus on because I was so absorbed up in watching Tiffany’s adorable laugh, which thankfully caused me to laugh along just in the right spots.

“I hear Shinyoung is really close with SNSD?”

“She treats our dorm like her house,” Tiffany said with her booming voice causing me to retain focus. Alright Taeyeon, don’t be lame. This is your chance to get asked to be on more shows. You can do this!

“Ne, she’s friends with all of us… I was lying in my room one day and she came barging in asking, more like yelling to see if I wanted snacks!”

“Ahh wow, yelling in someone else’s home?

“That is like our Shinyoung…”

 “So has SHINee or TYS visited the SNSD dorm? You guys are all under the same management.”

I started nodding my head as I heard Key’s loud reaction. “Of course not!”

“Wae? Oh TYS you have?”

“Uh ne, just once,” I replied.

“Oh wow, how come SHINee hasn’t and TYS has? Hasn’t SHINee been around you all longer?”

“Yes but, well, we see SHINee members as our little brothers,” Sunny started to explain. “And you don’t want to let your little brothers in your room right? Then we see TYS and our friends, we’re all the same age after all. They had just come over for Christmas last year. It was after a radio show that we had all just finished.”

“Ah, I guess I can see your point,” an MC remarked. And I was in awe of her answer. That was so quick of her to think all that up. Wow.

After that we paused and then continued on with more questions. Surprisingly the first one was with us.

“TYS has been incredibly popular these days. They were number one on the charts for four weeks straight was it? And then they remained the number two position for two more weeks?”

“Ne, that’s right. It was until SNSD knocked us off,” Yuri replied causing everyone to laugh.

“Oh am I sensing a little hostility?”

“Aniyo, aniyo. We were glad that it was SNSD that finally beat us out. You can’t really expect to be number one with them in the running,” Yuri joked again.

“Yeah, we understand,” the MC laughed. “Well then, can we see a bit of ‘Beautiful Stranger’?”

“Ahh ne,” Sooyoung said as we all started to stand up.

We then stood front and center on the little stage we were on and once the music started we began to do our choreography.

Once we finished we sat down and listed to a few more comments and praises to the others and then we took a break before going to the next segment.

One of the MCs had to go to the restroom and then another went to get a drink, while I just stayed seated and stretched out my legs.

“You’re doing really good Taeyeon-ah.” I turned to see Tiffany smiling away at me.

“Jinjja?” I saw her nod excitedly. I really wish I could just hold her hand or something right now, but I couldn’t. So I asked a question to keep me distracted. “What’s next?”

“It should be the part where they ask us questions and we use the gloves to answer true or false,” she said. I just nodded, and then I noticed everyone returning to their positions.

“Alright we’ll begin in thirty seconds,” the PD said loudly for everyone to hear.

Once the camera light was on the MC began talking. “The time has come for our six idols to play the game!”

“Your secrets revealed,”

“Without you even knowing it,” the two MCs said finishing the others sentence.

“Ah! My secret truth,” Shinyoung said loudly!

“We’ll start with Tiffany!”

The automated like voice came over a loud speaker and said “The following questions are about your secret, secret personality.”

They had us all gather around the space where she was siting which threw me off. They usually only ask the fellow members. Whatever, this was going to be interesting. I grabbed the gloves I was given and took a seat around the semi-circle.

The voice rang again. “Tiffany’s jealousy, Tiffany’s jealousy is incredible.”

The buzzer started counting down. This was an easy one. On the count of three everyone held up the glove indicating that it was in fact true. I heard the MCs all making small comments before the voice went again.

“Among all girl groups, Tiffany is the prettiest among all girl groups.”

Ahh, this one was even easier. As the buzzer rang the third time everyone put their gloves up. To my surprise I was the only one to put my glove up as true. This was going to get uncomfortable.

“Ooh, Taeyeon!” One of the MCs called out before the next question was announced.                                

“Tiffany has men, men lining up to date her.”

I definitely knew which glove to put up this time. She only has one man lining up, and that’s me!

The buzzer rang three times and everyone put up the red glove indicating false except for Key. What in the world?

“Next up is Sunny, Sunny please take a seat,” the voice called. They changed seats and then the questions began. “Sunny is mommy, mommy to SNSD.” Her reaction to the first part of the question was hilarious. She was so confused about where this was going. The buzzer rang and I held up the blue glove, indicating it was true. She did always seem to be taking care of the members, and she was always there for them. I mean she even shared a room with Tiffany because she asked her to. The next question quickly came.

“Among all girl groups, Sunny is the nicest among all girl groups.”

 On the third buzz everyone held up the ‘true’ glove. It was true. The voice came on again and it was now Key’s turn. They asked a few questions pertaining to him and then we all sat back in our seats, for now it was time to discuss the answers. I was just happy that I didn’t have to go yet. I knew it was coming, but I was still happy it wasn’t my turn just yet.

“Alright, the first question! Tiffany’s jealousy is incredible. It was a unanimous yes! Give us an example!”

“Uh well I think it’s usually directed more toward my members. Like recently, Sunny has been filming Invincible Youth with Shinyoung unnie right? So Sunny has gotten very friendly with members from other girl groups. At first I didn’t think they’d get that close, like they’re just on a show. It won’t happen, but they kept calling each other!” She was seriously so cute going on explaining everything like this. “They kept meeting up too, and I don’t let people know I’m bothered by this b-“

“Ani! It’s really obvious,” Sunny chimed in. Which I totally agreed with, you can always tell when my Fany-ah is getting jealous. “The first sign is that she blows air out of her nose.” Omo she was spot on.

“What does she do exactly?”

Sunny then imitated Tiffany buy saying “Whatever,” and then blowing out air from her nose hard. This was a very familiar scene to me. “The force is like a dragon!” Everyone laughed, even Tiffany. I saw her then eye me. I knew I was probably going to see a similar expression later on for laughing at her.

“Ahh how about the event at the music festival,” a MC asked. I guessed they had previously asked some of these questions to some of the guests? I wasn’t asked anything though. Hmm, strange. Maybe my questions weren’t as specific?

Tiffany then went on to describe an instance where Sunny had her friends from IY in their dressing room but failed to introduce them to her, which made her pretty upset as well. I think I can even remember her telling me about that one.

“Next question. Tiffany is the prettiest among all girl groups. Taeyeon, and Tiffany were the only ones to hold up true. Why did you Taeyeon?”

Play it cool Taeyeon, come on. “What do you mean why? Have you seen her?” My heart was going a mile a minute. I couldn’t believe I said that aloud, and on camera. Oh what do I do?

“Oooh wow,” an MC commented. “What sealed the deal for her to be the prettiest? Was there anything specific?” Crap crap crap. I couldn’t not answer though, right?

“Yeah. Her eye smile is deadly,” I responded back shyly.

“Oooh, Taeyeon, you’re blushing!” All the MCs and even my members were now laughing and ‘oohing’ in my direction.

“Tiffany, did you know that he thought all this? You all are very close right?”

“Ne, he actually mentioned it on the Ideal World Cup a few weeks ago.”

“Omo, were you his?” I nodded and saw Tiffany do the same. “Ah! Tiffany who is your ideal type?”

She can’t say me. I looked away from her. That would be way too obvious right? I won’t get mad at whoever she responds with. I know it’s so people won’t catch on… I swear if they’re more attractive than me though I’ll end them. Whoa I mean, no I won’t…

“T-Taeyeon-ah,” she replied hesitantly. Omo did she just say that?

I heard Shinyoung squeal and the MC beside her get equally as excited by her answer.

“Hey now, enough of this!” the MC beside Yuri shouted jokingly. “This isn’t a dating show. Let’s go to the next question. Tiffany has men lin- Nope. There isn’t an argument anymore. Here’s one right here for you,” he said as he motioned toward me causing everyone to laugh again.

“Sunny’s questions now! Sunny is mommy to SNSD. It looks like everyone agreed here except for Sunny!”

“Ne, I don’t know if she realizes it or not, but she always takes care of everyone else as well as herself, just like a mother would do. She always makes sure we ate or that if we’re feeling tired we take a rest. Just little things like that.”

“I agree,” I said.

“Oh why?”

“Well from the beginning of our friendship she’s always been nice to us. It was our second time ever meeting and I think it was only like a week after we had first met, and I accidently bumped in to her on the way out of SM, right, and the next thing we know she had invited us to go out to eat with her and the rest of SNSD.”

“Wow after a week?” “Did you go?”

“Of course we went. We weren’t going to turn down getting to eat dinner with SNSD,” I replied earning a few more laughs.

“That was before we knew them at all, and I think we were pretty much terrified the whole time, until Sunny kept talking to us and making us feel more welcome.”

“Ahh, wow. I think that can answer the next question as well. Sunny is the nicest out of all the female idols.”

“Ne, she really is the best to be around,” Shinyoung replied. “ I don’t know what I’d do without her on IY.”

They then moved on to Key, going over his questions. They even had him dance with Tiffany and Sunny. He actually did it perfectly too. If he were a girl I’m sure he could have been the fifth member.

We heard the bell go off. Oh no. here we go.

“It’s TYS’s turn!”

“Yuri is first, Yuri please take a seat.” He did so and it began. “Yuri is full, full of himself.” I looked at Soo young and we both nodded at each other. At the last buzz we raised our blue glove up as did Tiffany and Sunny. Yuri and Key both had their red one up. “Next question. Yuri is a lady killer.”

That one got me, I was laughing so hard I almost forgot to put my glove in the air. Red, of course. The bell went off again. “It is Sooyoung’s turn, please take a seat.” They switched seats and the voice continued on. “Sooyoung vacuums, vacuums up food.” I stuck my blue glove up in the air without a seconds notice, causing a few rounds of laughter behind me. Everyone else also did at the sound of the third buzzer.

“Ahh this is fun,” Yuri said loudly for everyone to hear.

“Sooyoung is funny, funnier than comedians,” the voice said.

“Ohh watch out,” one of the male MCs, that also happened to be a comedian, said from behind us.

As the buzzer rang its third time, everyone around raised up their blue gloves. I personally thought Sooyoung was one of the most hilarious people I’ve ever met. I couldn’t think about that now though. I was up next. I was so nervous. What were they going to ask me?

“Taeyeon is next, please take a seat.” I switched seats with Sooyoung and held my breath hoping for the best. “Taeyeon loves,” the voice started. I think my heart had stopped beating altogether now. They couldn’t know about Tiffany right? “Loves foreigners more.” Oh thank god. Gosh why did I freak out so much? This was a variety show, they wouldn’t ask really serious questions. I needed to calm down.

The buzzer rang and everyone put their gloves up showing various answers. I however didn’t even know how to decide, so I didn’t. I put both gloves up. The MCs behind us made a few comments and then the voice came on again.

“Among all male groups, Taeyeon is the most attractive among all male groups.”

Oh come on, I said in my head. That was clearly not true. I mean I didn’t think I was unattractive or anything, but among all the other idols out there I surely wasn’t number one. The buzzer sounded off and I raised the red glove I had on my hand. Looking behind me I could see that Key and Yuri were the only ones who agreed with me. Tiffany I expected to disagree, but Sunny and Sooyoung? What in the-

“Alright! Let’s start talking about these. Let’s get back to your seats.” He paused waiting for us to move back. “First Yuri, are you full of yourself?”

“Aniyo! I don’t know why you all agreed with that!”

Thinking of how I should answer this question, I finally responded. “Well maybe the phrase ‘full of yourself’ is taking it too far, but he is always looking at himself in the mirror.”

“Ah that’s right,” Tiffany agreed while clapping her hands. “I remember visiting them at their room backstage at an event right? When we all walked in Yuri was so focused on himself in the mirror, it took him so long to notice us being there.”

“Ah! I remember that. Even after we started talking to Sooyoung and Taeyeon he didn’t notice for a while,” Sunny said chiming in.

“Yah, I like to make sure I look alright!”

“Oh, so you’re saying it’s not that you love looking at yourself, it’s that you’re trying to look good,” a MC asked.

“Yes,” Yuri said nodding his head.

“Hey there’s nothing wrong with that,” Key agreed.  

“You’re right, he’s just trying to take care of himself,” Shinyoung agreed.

“Next question then, Yuri is a lady killer. It was a unanimous no.”

“Now that can’t be true, we all saw that new commercial you’re in with Dara from 2NE1,” a MC argued.

They were referring to the commercial Yuri had shot a few weeks ago for Cass Beer. (It’s a real commercial with Lee Minho. Pretend he was Yuri.) Where Yuri played a rich boy and tried to get with Dara, who was playing a DJ. It’s hard to describe, but he did look like a big shot playboy during the commercial. He even got to drive a Ferrari, which made me pretty jealous.

“Aniyo, that was just an act. I could never be like that for real, even if I wanted to.”

“Ah, so you play nice to get all the ladies

“Aniyo! I don’t have any ladies,” Yuri said defending himself.

“Ohh, so you guys haven’t approached any other idols?”

“No, of course not. It would feel awkward if we did I think,” Sooyoung commented. “Since were not even a year old it would be weird for us to go up to our seniors and starting talking to them in a way like that right?” He was right. If, and I mean if, I would have approached Tiffany I would have felt so out of place, that’s why I’m so glad she made the first move. 

“Ne, I can see how you would think that. So maybe in a year or so?”

We all laughed at that one. “Maybe, “ Yuri agreed.

 “Okay ladies, there is hope! Let’s move on to Sooyoung. You vacuum food?”

“Aniyo, I just eat a lot.”

Yuri and I busted out laughing at that. “Wait why are you guys laughing at that?”

“Aniyo, it’s just that all he does is eat. He is literately almost always snacking on something,” Yuri said.

“He’s right. I remember one time, I think we were before an interview or something and you know how they sometimes have catering tables set up?” I paused to see everyone nod so I continued. “Right well I watched Sooyoung from afar and he had gotten a whole plate of rice cakes.”

“Oh wow. A whole plate?”

“Ne! He had probably like six or seven on there, so I thought oh, wow how nice of him. He’s going to come over to where and Yuri and I were standing to share, you know? And he never did.”

I heard the MCs laughing loudly. “So he ate all of them?”

“Yeah I watched him, just one by one. Totally leaving us out.”

“Omo, Sooyoung. That is awesome,” Shinyoung praised. “I feel like we can be great friends.”

“Ne, you two will get along fine. Ah the next statement. Sooyoung is funnier than comedians. Everyone here raised the true sign besides Sooyoung. Let’s hear from him.”

“Ah, well I don’t think I’m not funny. It’s just that I’m not even close to being as funny as any of you are.”

“Yeah I think it’s on two different levels here,” Sunny said. “We’re close to TYS so were around them a lot and we get to see Sooyoung a lot as well. And well he’s always having a good time on his own, or making someone else laugh. We’ll see them all in the early morning and Taeyeon and Yuri would be half asleep while Sooyoung is wide awake and joking around with everyone.”

“Ohhh, so he’s kind of like a personal comedian?”

We all laughed at that. Sunny wasn’t wrong by any means, she hit it spot on I thought.

“Ne, that’s why I think we all true for that.”

“She’s right,” Key agreed. This was surprising. “Even though I’m not very close to TYS, we were in their dorm a week back for Sooyoung’s birthday and he really kept the conversations going. Everyone seemed to be having a really good time.”

I was nodding my head along just as Sunny and Tiffany were when the next voice rang.

“Wait a minute you were all in their dorm? Even SNSD?”

Oh crap.

“Ah, ne! Our managers all brought us over. We played a few games and had cake. It was really fun. You can invite any of us over anytime,” Key said again.

“Ah, Sooyoung. Who else was there? What other idols are you close with?”

“Well besides us we had Sunny, Tiffany, and Jessica from SNSD, four out of five of the f(x) members, Key, Jonghyun, and Onew from SHINee, and then Hyuna, and Jihyun-ssi from 4minute.”

“Oh wow that’s quite a guest list. Taeyeon how did you get Hyuna and Jihyun to come?”

“Ne, they were thrown in randomly. It seemed like an SM party,” another MC commented.

“Ah well Sooyoung and Hyuna are good friends from even before debut.”

“Yeah, she’s really like a little sister to me.”

“Oh wow, we didn’t know that. It’s funny how things work like that sometimes… Let’s move on to Taeyeon!”

Oh here we go. My questions weren’t even that good

“Taeyeon loves foreigners more. Ah Taeyeon you rose up both gloves what did you mean by that?”

I let out a deep breath. Here goes nothing.

“Well, the song goes ‘I fell in love with a foreigner’ right? Well I don’t think I’m saying that I love foreigners more than any other kind of person rather than I just love the one foreigner more than any other.” I could already feel the blood rushing to my face.

“Ooooh,” Shinyoung squealed. “You still haven’t revealed who it’s about have you?”

“That’s right, and I intend on keeping it that way,” I tried to coolly say.                    

“Darn, it was worth a shot,” Shinyoung said again. “Oh the next question is a sensitive topic. Among all other male idols, Taeyeon is the most attractive. Now Taeyeon tell us why you disagreed.”

“Right. I’m not trying to say that I think I look bad or anything, I just know that I’m not number one in the looks department,” I explained.

“Ahh, Who do you think is number one?” “Do you think you’re in the top ten?” That was a good question. A lot of girls seem to love Super Junior, so the number one was probably in that mix of people. I couldn’t pick one so I responded a little differently.

“I have no idea who number one would be, but I guess I could possibly see myself in the top ten somewhere, maybe rounding out the end.”

“Well you know, a good amount of idols have recently said you’re their new ideal type.”

“Ah jinjja? I had no idea.” I really didn’t. Since I don’t get to watch television a lot or even get on the computer, I rarely knew what was going on apart from when someone told me so.

“Ne, let’s see. Well, there was Tiffany, just now and then I’ve heard that most of the KARA members have you as their ideal now. As well as a few from the Wonder girls.” I knew about Hara, and Tiffany obviously, but the others from KARA and Wonder Girls?? That was a big surprise to me.

“Ah! Did you hear Tiffany’s nose? She’s totally jealous right now,” Shinyoung exclaimed.

“Ani! Aniyo, I’m not,” she lied as we all started laughing at her.

“Now Sunny, and Tiffany why did you say that he was? What do you think his charms are?”

“I think he has quite a few charms,” Sunny replied. “One of the bigger ones is his voice. Taeyeon is an amazing singer.”

“You’re right, I’ve read an article where people are saying he might have the best voice of all k-pop artists.”

“Jinjja?” I really couldn’t believe that. The best? No way.

“Ne, you’ll have to look it up. What about you Tiffany, what is his charm?”

“Uhm, I really like guys with a nice smile, and I think Taeyeon’s is very nice,” she said shyly. Gah when she was all shy like this I couldn’t help but smile at her.

“Ah there it is!” Shinyoung was now pointing at me, more than likely referring to the grin spread across my face due to the ever adorable Tiffany Hwang before my eyes.

After a few more off topic questions and conversations the filming had finally come to an end. The MCs all thanked us for being here then we all stood and bowed to the staff and crew that were there. After we individually thanked them we headed to the KBS lobby where Hyung said he would be waiting for us.

“Sooyoung-ah!” I heard a familiar voice. Ah there he was.

“How did we do,” Yuri asked as we approached him.

“You guys did fantastic, although you are bound to cause a scandal if you two keep talking about each other like that Taeyeon.”

He was right. We may have over done it a little bit today, actually. I don’t think we did. I could talk about Tiffany until the end of time.

“Speaking of, where are they?”

“Uhm who?” I was confused. They who?

“Sunny and Tiffany. We’re giving them a lift to their dorm,” he replied calmly. “Their manager had to go take care of the other girls.”

“Ah jinjja?!” I was way excited now. I wanted to spend all the time I could with her and this was helping me out like no other. Even though it was just going to be a short car ride, what’s the saying? Beggars can’t be choosers? And I was definitely a beggar right now. I saw Hyung nod in confirmation. “I’ll go look for them!” I started to turn around as I heard an angel.
