Come To Play

Into the New World

“Our Come to Play Special,” Yoo Jaesuk called out.

We had just gotten back to Korea this morning and we already had a schedule. Today the three of us, SNSD, Changmin hyung, Krystal and Sulli from f(x), and four Super Junior members were all here at the studio. It was an SM Town Special. I was told by my manager that we were probably just going to talk about Paris the whole time.

I didn’t really care what it was for. It’s not often everyone gets together like this. Well SHINee wasn’t here today nor was Kangta or Boa, but it would still be fun I hope.

“They’ve taken over Europe and way past Asia! The leading power of K-Pop, who have shown us Hallyu power will be here with us today!”

“Ne, All the idols who had just landed in Korea after their concert in Paris will be here,” the female MC announced. We were all backstage waiting to make our appearance. “It’s called our ‘We Came From Paris’ Special,” the MCs said together. The said a few other things before they eventually called out Super Junior.

I gave Fany a quick peck on the lips right before they called out SNSD. Changmin was next followed by the f(x) girls and eventually us.

“Bonsoir, we are TYS” we said in French, as we stopped briefly in the middle of the stage. Sooyoung even had a loaf of french style bread. I carried a flag while Yuri had a newspaper. They were all our ‘props’ for the whole coming from Paris thing. Others had flags, suitcases and Changmin even brought wine.

The director said that was good so we took our seats and waited for the next part to start.

Today, just like usual, I was seated right beside my Fany. They always do that on every show we were on. Were they hoping we would just start making out right then and there or what?

I mean, I obviously enjoyed it, but it was still odd that it was always us two. We had seven members between our groups, yet they always came up with this arrangement?

They then had us go around and say our French greetings once the cameras came back to life.  We all did well and Yuri and Sooyoung even did a good job at talking about a phrase they kept using a lot in Paris. They even made the crowd laugh a few times. Woo!

So far so good.

They went on to talk about how the fans in Europe protested for a second date on the tour by doing a flash mob kind of thing and then ended up getting one. Also they mentioned the huge number of fans that were at the airport when we arrived.

Oh god. It was pretty crazy.

There were probably a thousand people there dancing and singing various SM artists songs in fluent Korean. It was amazing really. I didn’t expect that at all in France.

They quickly moved on to the next topic which was about Sunny being the most popular SNSD member over in Europe.

“She’s the best,” Tiffany quickly cheered. “There was a time when we each had to individually greet the fans and her cheers were amazing.”

“Since the cheers were so loud she then replied with the longest speech,” Seohyun joked.

“Like, ‘Yes, this is my city,’” Tiffany teased. We all laughed. I do remember that too. It just went on and on about how thankful she was and everything else you could possibly think to say.

“She was literately giving a speech,” Jessica added. Jaesuk loved it and started laughing so hard. It was pretty funny.

“Sunny-ssi, why do you think you were so popular,” they asked a few seconds later.

“I’m really not sure. I figured it would be either Jessica or Tiffany since they can speak English, right? I didn’t expect it at all.” I didn’t either. I thought for sure it would have been one of the English speaking natives.

“Unnie has been on TV the most with WGM and other variety shows,” Seohyun commented. “So maybe that’s why?”

Oh duh. WGM was huge.

“Ahh, that’s right!”

We talked for a while more about other things that happened in Paris and Soo even got up to dance once!

It was all a lot of fun, but I got even more excited when the said the next topic of our discussion. It intrigued me very much so.

“This is something we prepared with great difficulty,” the female MC started. I seriously forgot her name though and I was so embarrassed.

Ugh! Way to go Taeng.

“In a place that is also called the idol military school, we’ve come here with some inside information,” she continued. “So we’ve prepared the SMTOWN X-File!”

“Nayoung-ssi has prepared the X-File for us,” Jaesuk introduced as Nayoung came up from the side we were sitting on. She was also one of the MCs, just not the main two.

“Ne, please be careful with it,” she laughed as she handed it over.

“That’s right, it is a confidential file,” they laughed.

“There are a lot of things in this X-File here. Questions, comments, even history of your trainees days,” he commented as he flipped it open. “The first thing we want to know though is that if there is an exclusive entertainment show writer… Like someone who tells you what to say on variety shows.”

“Not at all,” Tiffany quickly replied.

“Should we say it all together,” Leeteuk suggested. “1, 2, 3!”

“There isn’t,” the whole group announced. Jaesuk just laughed.

“You didn’t have to answer it all at once…”

“Ah, I’m on a quiz show…,” Leeteuk commented.

“Ne, you could have said it one at a time,” he laughed. “So there isn’t?”

“No,” a few of us replied.

“Ah, we’ve heard that so many times,” the MC stated.

“There’s no one that does that for us,” Yul commented.

“Yeah, if there was do you think I’d be like this,” Yesung laughed in turn causing everyone else to laugh.

While hyung might be a great singer, he was pretty bad on variety… and that was coming from me!

Leeteuk and Eunhyuk began to talk about how as trainees they would hold mock talk shows. Basically they would all get together and parody and direct whole entertainment shows by themselves so that’s why they were so good on variety shows.

Everyone got so into this conversation by talking about things in the past and how they used to do all these ‘shows’… besides the f(x) girls and me that is.

When Sooyoung and Yuri were giving an example of their MC abilities they skipped right over me and talked to each other, even bringing some of the Super Junior members in to the conversation. I wasn’t upset about it or anything. I knew they were better at thinking quick and being just funny in general so I didn’t even try to in.

“So Taeyeon doesn’t get into the conversation,” Jaesuk asked. Actually it surprised me to hear my name all of a sudden. I mean I figured they’d just keep going on their own. “Taeyeon-ssi why aren’t you in it?”

“Oh, well I was a trainee with these two,” I said pointing to my members. “But the reason is simply because I’ve only ever attended vocal and dance lessons. I never got to attend the MC lessons.”

“Ahh you had different lessons!” I nodded.

“Ne, that’s why I’m not as quick on my feet as these two,” I laughed.

He then brought the same topic up with Nayoung-ssi, but I didn’t focus on that. I caught Tiffany smiling at me so I was more focused on that for the time being.

The next topic was more things that didn’t concern me, but were all interesting to hear. For example a few Super Junior guys were trained to be MCs by a very, very famous MC. Jaesuk made a big deal about that one. I guess he was a fan of the guy too? I don’t know.

Eventually they continued to the second question.

“Alright, we’ll go on to the X-File’s second question!”

“There are personal orders and prohibiting rules from the company. Like so and so isn’t allowed to do this on TV or this person has to do this while being filmed… What’s Eunhyuk-ssi’s?”

“Me,” he asked nervously. After playing around a bit he finally admitted that the company wants him to have long hair to help cover his face. They even asked him to wear glasses a lot. Oh god that was harsh… I wondered what mine was…

“Ah don’t forget ‘Don’t Talk,’” Jaesuk added as he read the paper in front of him causing us all to laugh again. Super Junior went on to talk about how none of them except Siwon could stand in the middle of cover shoots or anything really so that they could give the illusion they were all attractive or something.

Honestly I don’t think our group had many.

“Sooyoung here it says that you shouldn’t do voice imitations?” Oh… Right. I totally forgot about that one. “And for Yuri because he acted up in the beginning it seems, it says ‘Don’t overdo it and control yourself.’” I lost it.

I couldn’t stop laughing at our little kkab Yul, until he said my name that was.

“Taeyeon, there isn’t one in here for you for some reason, do you happen to remember any? Or did you just not have any?”

“Ah,” Sooyoung came to life.  “Didn’t they tell him not to laugh a lot in the beginning?”

“That’s right,” Yuri cheered. “Didn’t they even tell him not to talk a lot too?”

“Omo, you’re right,” Soo laughed. I internally groaned.

I had totally forgotten about that…

Of course they then asked me to explain myself. Ugh…

“Ne, I rarely took any of the lessons on how to be better on variety so they didn’t want me to ruin TYS’s fun and cool image that was given off by these two.”

“What? You do so well though,” Nayoung-ssi commented.

“Ne, you do very well on everything I’ve seen you on.” I thanked him greatly. That really did mean a lot coming from Jaesuk hyung.

“I think Taeyeon’s very good at variety,” Yuri commented. “He just doesn’t talk a lot.”

“When he does though it’s usually a really good comment though,” Soo laughed.

“Like a sleeper agent waiting for the right time to attack,” Jaesuk joked.

“Ah exactly,” he cheered. “Omo! Then there was a new one after a while. Remember?”

Oh crap. I sure did now that he mentioned that.

“Oooh what was that?” I knew where this was going. I sighed.

“They told me that I couldn’t talk about Tiffany or SNSD at all.” I heard Tiffany laughing at that one.

“Oh jinjja? At all?” I confirmed. “Why? When was this?”

“Immediately after they found out about us,” I laughed.

“So your managers and your company didn’t even know about you two dating at first?”

“Ne, that’s right, we tried to keep it from them too. When they found out though almost the next day they told me that I couldn’t mention her or them unless I was asked something specific.”

“Wow~,” he marveled. “Tiffany-ssi did you get the warning too?”

“Of course I did,” she laughed. “They even tried their hardest to keep us off the same variety shows and everything.”

The MCs were amazed by that and then they moved on to reveal a few other ‘Do Not’s’ from the files in hand.

Eventually coming back to us though they made Sooyoung do the voice impression he had been told not to and made Yuri bring back a Kkab Yul performance.

Eunhyuk then teased about how Yuri’s talent performance in like fifth grade was literately acting like a dinosaur. Hands in the air as claws and everything. Soo even said he crawled!

Oh my god. I think I might’ve actually paid to see that.

After we got done making fun of TYS and their little quirks, they moved on to Changmin oppa, teasing him about the strength he used in his eyes literately all the time while singing.

“Actually when Changmin came to the company,” Leeteuk started. “Like usual, when a big shot trainee comes in-“

“They murmur right?”

“Right! They murmur and spread rumors.” He went on to tell about how Changmin was like the model student and the perfect trainee and how they all felt threatened for their positions in the company because he was so good at everything.

“Taeyeon-ssi did you feel that way too? When you came in to the company?”  Ooh, this was going to be a good question. I didn’t even know the answer to this…

“Aniyo,” he replied straight away. “I never felt like I was the competition.”

“Aye~! That’s not a very fun answer.” Everyone laughed.

“If SHINee were here they’d disagree with you though,” Shindong commented.

“Ah jinjja? Why is that Shindong-ssi?” I was curious myself. Taeyeon looked interested too.

“I remember when Taeyeon first entered the company there were a lot of rumors about him being the next, well… Yesung. They said all kinds of praises about his voice and soon after I remember Jonghyun and Onew coming to us and talking like ‘Hyung, do you think this new kid will take my spot?’ or ‘Have you actually heard him sing yet?’ It was pretty entertaining,” he laughed. Oh my god, that totally sounded like those two too.

Daebak.

“Ah, so they thought Taeyeon was taking their place in SHINee?”

“I remember that too,” Leeteuk commented. “He really shook up the company.” They asked him how and I was so into listening right now.

I guess with us being so busy with SNSD I didn’t hear much of this so called commotion.

“Well SM almost hid him. I think they kept him almost alone for months before sticking him in a group. Once they did that they pretty much kept them separate from most of the other trainees, right?”

“Ne,” he commented. “I was in solo vocal practices and dance lessons for a while and then suddenly put with these two and two other guys who dropped out because of school I think, right?” Sooyoung nodded.

“Yeah, I just remember it being crazy for a while,” oppa commented. The only other people that have shaken up the company like that were Changmin and Siwon.”

“Don’t forget Shindong hyung,” Sooyoung laughed.

“Aniyo, that was a whole different kind of shaking up,” Eunhyuk joked.

____________________________________________________

We finished the segment and were now going to the other room where we all sit on the floor and talk even more.

“Fany!” I turned to see Taeyeon walking toward me in his new outfit.

Because they want to give off a relaxed feel, we all changed to more comfortable clothes.

“Hi Tae~. You’re doing great,” I complimented. I knew variety shows weren’t his most favorite things in the world so maybe my words of encouragement would make him a little less uneasy.

“Really?” I nodded. “Is this my sweatshirt?” Crap. I’ve been caught! He grabbed my shoulders and turned me around. “Fany-ah! This is totally mine.” I laughed.

“Sooo~? It’s comfy! Look, I even wore yellow pants to match.” He shook his head.

“You’re too much you know that,” he teased.

Before I could retaliate though we had been called to take our places. This time I didn’t get to sit by Taeyeon, so that was a bit lame, but I guess we were doing a boys vs girls kind of thing?

I don’t know. Thankfully Jaesuk oppa started talking.

“We talked about a lot of things before, so here we can be comfortable and free and have fun.”

“We can enjoy youth and do a talent show too!”

“That’s right!”

They told us about the competition and how there was even prize money! I’m sure it was either nothing or just a few dollars since it was probably just being used as a prop for the show, but we reacted big to put out a fun feel.

“Now then let’s start this talent show!” We all cheered. “Let’s start with the male team!”

“Ne let’s start with us,” Leeteuk oppa commented.

I will have to admit, when his SUJU days are over he could become a very great MC. I feel like Sooyoung could do a great job too.

“First of all, should we start with serious or comical,” he asked his team.

“Serious!” “Seriously,” his team replied.

“We’ll go with serious first,” he announced.

They then handed microphones to Yesung, Changmin, and- Omo Taeyeon too?

Ahh~ that only means one thing…they will be singing!

Wah~! I was already so into this. Leeteuk got behind the piano and soon started playing the song.

I was instantly mesmerized.

Their voices were all great by themselves, especially Taeyeon’s, but when the three of them came in together it was something else. I couldn’t help but to stare at my Taetae singing his little heart out. The cute scrunched up face he made every time he had to really belt the note out just made my smile grow a hundred times more.

As the song ended a round of applause filled the studio.

“That’s how you sing,” someone cheered. I wasn’t paying enough attention because Taeyeon was now looking at me.

I mouthed the words ‘Good job Taetae,’ and his smile set in as well.

“Was it? I’m sorry I couldn’t even pay attention,” DJ DOC stated. He was a secondary MC just as Nayoung-ssi was.

“What? Why not,” Jaesuk questioned.

Seriously, how could you not pay attention to that? They were amazing.

“Well I’m sorry, but Tiffany?”

Wait what?

“Ne…?”

“Why do you keep giving me your eye smile?” I covered my mouth instantly and started laughing. “The whole time I was distracted!”

Oh my god. This is way too funny. I waved my hand in the air and tried to get myself together so I could talk but Sooyoung spoke up.

“Aye~,” Sooyoung said with a nudge to DJ DOC. “She was looking at Taeyeon, not you hyung.”

“Ah was that what it was?”

“Ne, I noticed it too,” Jaesuk added. Oh goodness. Here we go. “Taeyeon-ssi, did you notice it too?”

“Aniyo, I didn’t even look at her,” he said bluntly, causing the studio to fill with laughter again. “Ani, ani, I didn’t mean it like that, I just thought she’d probably mess me up if I did, so I looked everywhere but at her.”

“Ahh because of the eye smile?” He nodded. “Is that how she always is?”

“Ne,” he responded with a laugh. “She was born with that eye smile.”

Everyone laughed again, but then thankfully they quickly moved on. It was our turn now, so the six of us got up and karaoke’d one of DJ DOC’s songs actually. DJ DOC oppa even got up and sang it with us!

After that the boy’s team, much to Taeyeon’s disapproval, suggested a dance battle. I just laughed. This would be pretty interesting.

Eunhyuk started it, and did fantastically by the way. Sunny jumped up from our team to push Eunhyuk out of the way because she was our little dancing queen. Sunny did just as well before passing the torch to Sooyoung. His was even better than the two before I thought. No wonder they say he and Yuri are two of the best… He quickly passed it off to- crap.

Me.

I stood up and quickly did a fun little dance that kinda went with the music.

Okay so it didn’t go with the music at all and it was a little weird and pretty embarrassing, but I needed to be up there so I could choose my target.

Taeyeon.

I saw him give me a little pout before standing up and walking toward the center.

Quickly making it back to my seat so I could watch him dance, the music changed to some upbeat techno kind of music. He just shook his head and started laughing.

Muwahah this was going to be so- o-oh… oh good lord.

Let me start off by saying that if this was the variety show that we had first met on, I would have literately ran in the other direction and not looked back once.

Ever.

He started moving his legs around like some escaped mental patient at a rodeo and then his arms followed suit, flailing about just as randomly as his legs were.

Oh. My. God.

I knew he danced like this when we were alone and he was being a dork, but on national TV?

My hands shot to my mouth to cover my laugh, but I couldn’t help it. This was so ridiculous. I literately fell over into Sunny from laughing so hard. She and the rest of the SM members there were laughing just as much. Oh goodness~!

Besides humiliating and not to mention career damaging, this was also very, VERY embarrassing…

I don’t know why it embarrassed me, I mean it wasn’t me up there looking like a mental cowboy. I guess it was my man though and I was engaged to the fool.

Secondhand embarrassment was a real thing right?

Okay, I’ll also have to admit that if you look past the embarrassing factor it was pretty adorable too. His little goofy grin shined as bright as it could as his hands made another wave above his head.

Sooyoung and Yuri then popped up to pull him back down to a seated position, only causing more laughter to erupt from the people here.

“Oh wow, that was such a shock,” Jaesuk laughed. “I don’t think we’ve ever seen you like that Taeyeon-ssi.”

“That’s the Taeyeon we have to see every day,” Sooyoung joked.

“Wow~,” Jaesuk held out again. “Tiffany do you still claim him after seeing that? Or is that nothing new to you?”

“It’s definitely not anything new to me,” I laughed. “But I guess I’ll still claim him.”

“Alright~! You know, I think we should end it there,” Jaesuk commented. “That was a great place to stop.”

“Oh please don’t,” Taeyeon begged with a laugh.

“Ah! Too late,” he exclaimed.

Oh my poor Taetae. People will definitely be talking about this after the show…

___________________________________________________

Okay, scratch that about the dance. Now they had something real to talk about online.

We moved to the next segment where we were now playing ‘The Candle-Lit game of Truth.’

Basically we were just going around in a circle talking about things we wanted to say but never had the chance, or things that were just awkward to say one on one. All while holding a fake candle… They even said we could talk about other artists or friends in general, it wasn’t limited to just the SM artists present.

It started off cheerful with Leeteuk apologizing to Jessica for accidently hugging her once during a soccer match like seven years ago thus causing the boys and girls to be trained separately at SM ever since.

It went back and forth from the boys to girls and back for a while until it was Sulli’s turn. When the words ‘I want to tell Tiffany unnie’ came out of with a slight voice crack, I knew it was going to be trouble.

“Ah I think I’m going to cry,” I said aloud as I fanned away my tears. Ugh, she would do this to me on broadcast.

She spoke about moving to Seoul when she was younger and lived in the same dormitory. She also talked about how she became close to me and how I took care of her like a younger sister and became her source of support.

Oh god, she really was trying to get me to cry.

She then expressed how sad and lonely she had felt when I had debuted and became busy, and how grateful she was to be able to see me after also debuting. Her sincere “thank you” must have really pulled at the heartstrings for now I was crying a little.

Aigo~ she was crying too. I wiped her tears since she was only one person away from me, but then I noticed Krystal tearing up as well. I wasn’t the only one.

“Krystal-ssi? Why are you crying?”

“I was just so sad listening to her talk,” she started. I felt Jessica squeeze my hand. I knew she wanted to go right over there, but since we were filming she couldn’t.

Krystal then talked about how she and Sulli both felt left out since they were maknaes and how the s were too big between everyone. She went on for a few more minutes before Jaesuk called out the one I was waiting the most to hear.

“Taeyeon-ssi? What about you? I saw you nodding a lot during Krystal’s talk.”

“Uh, ne,” he awkwardly laughed. “I understand where she’s coming from.” Huh?

“Oh jinjja?”

“Ne first I want to thank SNSD though.”

“Aye~,” someone teased. I laughed.

“Aniyo! It’s not like that. I’m thanking all four of them. Actually this is probably the first time I’ve ever said something about this to anyone ever,” he paused.

Omo, even me?!

“But I’ve always felt sort of left out too. So I want to thank them for becoming my friends. Outside of TYS and SNSD, I don’t have many friends. These guys are all I have.”

“How so Taeyeon-ssi? Why do you feel left out?””

“Well, since I trained for a very little time I had almost no contact with anyone else besides my members and f(x) sometimes because we were debuting around the same time.” I nodded. “So I didn’t really get to meet any of the Super Junior or DBSK members at all.”

“Ah so you didn’t try to approach them or talk to them?”

“Aniyo, I’ve always been a little nervous, maybe?” They questioned him and my brows furrowed. “I was just afraid things would become awkward. I always greeted everyone with great caution.”

Why hasn’t he said any of this to me?

“That’s true,” Yuri started. “I don’t think he even talked to us until we spoke to him. He would just come in, greet us and keep going about his business. It lasted a week before Sooyoung finally approached him,” he laughed.

“That’s Taeyeon’s big problem though. If no one asks how he’s doing or anything, he won’t say anything. It’s frustrating,” Sooyoung commented.

I couldn’t agree more. I just guess I haven’t been doing a very good job at being a girlfriend then if I didn’t know about these troubles he’s having.

Omo, I wonder if he’s hiding anything else from me?

“Ah Sooyoung-ssi do you have anything to say to him?”

“Of course. I hope he becomes more open in the future,” he paused. “Actually I’d like to thank SNSD too, on behalf of him, especially Tiffany.”

“What,” I asked aloud. “Me?”  He hummed.

“Ever since you came in to the picture Taeyeon has been become more and more open with us about his issues and I think it’s because of you.”

“Issues? What issues?” I was curious too.

I felt horrible though. Was I not doing enough? Would my Taetae rather hold in his worries or concerns because he didn’t feel like he could talk to me about things? What could I do to make him talk to me?

Why did he not understand that we’re in this together?

“Just anything and everything,” he laughed. “I have a hard time finding someone to talk to about things. I even called my mom and tried to talk to her the other day actually and she just said that this is the best part of your life and your career right now, which made me think I don’t have anyone to talk to comfortably.”

“Why don’t you talk to you members?” Uh hello, or ME? “That’s right! What about Tiffany? Tiffany-ssi did you know about this?”

Crap! I said that aloud?!

“A-aniyo,” I responded truthfully. Before I could say anything else though Taeyeon spoke again.

“I don’t tell them for a reason though. I don’t want to worry them. They have their own things they’re going through so it would be selfish of me to ask for any of their time, right?”

I wanted to use a megaphone to scream ‘no’ right in his ear. UGH, he was really in trouble now.

“Tiffany do you have anything else to say?”

Oh did I… but, it would have to wait.

I have to say something though… oh gosh, think quick!

“Ne, I think I will just have to take better care of him in the future and make sure he opens up fully to everyone.”

“Please do,” the MC cheered. “Then we’ll be able to see more of his ridiculous dancing.”

Yeah, if he lives after tonight.

_________________________________________________________

“I can’t believe you Taeyeon,” Tiffany said as soon as we stepped through the door.

I knew I was in trouble when Tiffany didn’t say a word the whole way back to my dorm, she even kept her hands in her own lap instead of trying to hold mine.

Uh oh.

Since we got here this morning and didn’t have a lot of time, I ended up driving the two of us to the studio. Also since they had an hour until they had to leave for Japan, her manager said she could come back with me and they’ll just pick her up on the way out.

“Fany~, I ju-“

“No. That was totally not okay. None of this is okay Taeyeon.” I frowned at the use of my whole name twice in a row. “Why don’t you tell me any of this?”

“I already told you why,” I calmly stated as I got a drink from the fridge. “Do you want juice?” She didn’t respond so I took that as a ‘no.’ I kept looking through our fridge. “Hmm, water… milk… tea?”

There was still no response. Aish! I turned to look at her giving me the apparent silent treatment.

“Do you want any… a-anything,” I hesitantly finished my word as I saw tears running down her cheek.

Wait a minute. I thought she was angry?! How did her anger suddenly turn in to this?

Omo, omo, omo. It didn’t matter right now.

In just two steps I was able to get to her and pull her into me. I figured she’d resist or at least try to, but she didn’t. She let me hug her, without hugging me back.

“Tiffa-”

“I want you to tell me everything that’s bothering you Tae. Didn’t you promise me you always would?” That was true, but I had real reasons!

“I-“

“What else are you not telling me?” Hold on just a second now.

“What? I’m-“

“D-do you not want to get married? Is that why you won’t talk to me about it?”

My jaw dropped. How could she think something like that?

“Stephanie Hwang Miyoung,” I said as I brought my hands to her cheeks. “That is the silliest thing I’ve even heard in my whole life. It has nothing to do with that or you… Well it does a tiny bit, but it’s nothing about me not wanting to marry you baby. That’s the only thing I wanna do!”

She didn’t seem won over by my words.

Damnit.

“Wh-what do you mean it has to do with me a tiny bit?” Oh goodness, that would be the only thing she heard from that.

I wiped the lone tear that ran down her face before letting my lips gently graze hers. I had to tell her now…

“It’s just that I’m worried. I-“

“About what,” she asked sadly. I smiled a little.

“Let me finish okay?” She nodded as I finally felt her hands slide around my waist. “I’m worried that the wedding won’t be as great as you want it to be now and I’m worried that I’m not going to be able to see you that often and,” I paused. “I’m just worried I’m not doing enough.”

I took a deep breath. It did feel good to say all that, but I also didn’t want Tiffany’s pretty little head filled with her worrying about me worrying!

“I’m sorry.”

“Taeyeon shut up,” she snapped. What the… and she was smiling? “The wedding will be fine. Jisook is the greatest out there.” I nodded, but it still made me a bit sad.

While we were on the long flight back we went over our schedules to see when we both had a free day in Seoul so we could meet with our planner, but it didn’t go so well…

Seeing our full schedules side by side like that really put it in to perspective of how little time we would actually have to do anything together. Tiffany was packed full of things to do in Japan, I mean she was only coming back to Seoul once in the span of a month and that was for a photo shoot!

Because of the lack of time and the impending wedding day, we decided that we were going to have to put even more trust in Jisook to get everything just right, for we weren’t going to be able to meet with her almost at all.

The part that made me the most upset though is that I really think Tiffany wanted to play a bigger role in deciding everything.

“I know Fany-ah. I’m just sorry you can’t make more of the decisions like I know you want to,” I smiled.

I really wanted this to be her perfect wedding, I mean she was only getting one. EVER. Even the most drastic ideas popped in to my head.

“Do you want to push back the date so you can plan it more?” I surely didn’t want to postpone it, but if she did I would agree.

She gave me the ‘did you really just say that look’ and I laughed.

“Okay~, I guess that was a silly idea, huh?” She hummed.

“I can’t wait that long Taetae. I want to be Mrs. Kim as soon as possible.” I suddenly felt proud.

“I can’t wait either,” I said back.

“You’ll just have to meet with her and pick everything out for us.”

Hold up.

“Uhhh, what?”

“You’re schedule was way emptier than mine Taetae,” she paused. “So you’ll have to meet with her and decide.”

Okay, she was right about my schedule. I did have way more free time she did, but I knew from past occasions that that usually meant we were going to start working on an album soon thus taking all free time I would have, not to mention our tour preparations were becoming more frequent.

“But-“

“No buts! You know what I like and I believe with my whole heart that you’ll pick perfectly.” Her eyes were giving off the most warm feeling right now. I couldn’t say no to that. Aigo~!

I would at least have to try to meet with her a few times. I couldn’t let my Fany-ah down.

“Okay, I’ll try.”

“MMM good,” she voiced as she squeezed me in to a very tight hug. “Now, was that the only thing bothering you?”

Uh oh.

The next morning however, I knew the whole ‘I meet with the wedding planner’ idea was totally shot through.

One hundred percent.

We woke up early to go to our lessons and then rehearsal and I felt great.

Not only because I got an actual amount of sleep, but because Tiffany and I talked about everything yesterday, what was worrying me AND what was worrying her.

Just like I said yesterday too, none of it was anything major… well besides the feeling bad about her not being able to plan the wedding. All my other worries right now were tiny things all related to my work and my group. None of it was toward my precious Tiffany.

Regardless, she wanted to talk about it with me and I’m glad she did.

I felt a million times better. I know it sounds cliché, but it really did feel like a weight was taken off my shoulders.

It was soon pressed firmly right back where it was though.

We had just gotten finished with an English lesson and were now waiting on our choreographer to rehearse with.

“Hyung have you called her people back yet? I really want to do this.”

What is he talking about?

“Yes Soo, calm down. I’m waiting for her people to contact me back. They’re busy too you know.” I almost asked about what on earth he was talking about but then hyung answered his phone.

It was a short call and he soon hung up. Hyung relayed the message that the choreographer was going to be a few minutes late before stepping out into the hall.

“Weird,” I mumbled. “Sooyoung-ah what was all that about?” He looked confused at first, but then his eyes popped open.

“You haven’t heard?!” I shook my head. I had NO idea. “Oh I guess you were still frolicking around in Paris,” he mumbled. “CL’s manager called hyung! She really did want to work with me! Inna noona wasn’t lying!”

Well I’ll be dammed. That would be pretty amazing!

“That’s awesome Soo! Do you know what you’re going to do together,” I asked excitedly.

“Didn’t you just hear him?” I furrowed my brows.

“Uhh, what?” He sighed.

“He said that he’s waiting on CL’s manager to get back with him pabo.”

“Ahh, right. Sorry!”

“Whatever. I need food,” he said shortly before walking away from me.

Well then. I wonder what Yul is up to…

Aish. He was laying on the floor smiling at his phone. He must be texting Jessica. I grinned.

I was really happy all the negative feedback from them confirming their relationship hasn’t affected them.

When everyone got home from the studio yesterday the sudden question filled my head.

I asked Yul why he didn’t get any Jessica questions and vice versa. It’s been almost two weeks since the news, so I figured they try to slide a sly little question in there somehow. His answer surprised me though.

Yuri said that the MCs still weren’t allowed to talk about it. SM I guess told them that if they were going to ask them anything to do with it, they would pull Jessica and Yuri from the show. They wouldn’t do that either since Yuri was our visual and Jess was their leader.

The real question was why. I thought everything was going fine for them just as it did for us. I mean yeah the fans were torn up. Tiffany was the visual of the nation’s girl group. I’m sure almost every boy out there had lost hope… er, actually, some may have even gained some after seeing that I could make her mine.

Yeah, no wonder I got so much hate from fans back in the day. I didn’t think I deserved her either. Oh gosh, it was just so funny to think about.

It was the same in Yuri’s case too I guess. Not only did he have even more fans than I did from his acting, he was also one of the two remaining ‘single’ TYS members. Since we were a pretty popular group I’m sure there were many, many upset girls.

I had no idea it would go to that extent that it was though. No one even told me about it until that day.  When I called Tiffany later that evening, after she safely landed of course, I asked her about it. She said that Jessica had received at least five times the amount of hate as she did. Tiffany also told me that SM had hired body guards especially for them for their trip overseas. Apparently Jessica had received multiple death threats.

Obviously it was nothing serious, probably just a bunch of Yuri fan-girls who were upset she was dating their oppa, but it was still nothing to take lightly.

It was intense.

Ugh. Hopefully it’ll move past quickly. I kinda felt guilty though. I don’t know why, but it just felt wrong that Tiffany and I got off so lightly compared to that. We lied to them for over a year…

Aish, all this talk about Fany made me miss her. I’ll just have to give her a call. I quickly pulled out my phone and hit 1.

I just laughed and shook my head when I heard the new ring back tone her phone played. It was our ‘Boy in Luv.’

“Moshi moshi,” she answered with a laugh.

“Aye, Korean please~.” I heard her cute little giggle. “Where are you guys?” I knew they had a concert tonight, but I just wasn’t sure which city they were in.

“We’re in Tokyo! We just got finished with rehearsal and now I’m going to get my make-up and hair done… What are you doing boo?”

Aigo~! It always made my stomach flutter when she called me that. I’m not even sure why, but I loved it.

“I am waiting on the choreographer to get here. We have to practice~,” I whined. Hearing her giggle definitely energized me a little though.

“For your tour?” I hummed. We were adding a few new stages to our lineup all on top of our solo stages we have been preparing for. She must have read my mind. “Are you going to tell me what your solo stage is yet?”

“Nope! It’s a secret~,” I cooed.

Actually I had no idea what mine was going to be.

Okay, I sort of had an idea. It was going to either be a cuter song that would melt the hearts of thousands or a ier kind of song to get back at Tiffany’s ‘Umbrella’ performance she keeps showing off to the fans. I had the songs already picked out, but the choreographer was just waiting to see which one he would have to make a game plan for.

Ugh, the choice was tough.

“You’re such a brat.”

“Aye~, takes one to know o-oh?“

“Taengo~,” my manager called, interrupting my thought process.

“Hold on a sec babe.” I heard her hum before pulling the phone away. “Yeah?”

As I turned around I received the surprise of a century.

Two men were now walking even closer. That wasn’t the surprising part though… One of the two guys was carrying a huge camera.

It was on.

“Uhm, Fany-ah, I’m gonna have to call you back. I love you bye~,” I quickly said before jumping to my feet. “Uhm annyeonghaseyo?”

The man not holding the camera handed me a red envelope.

“What’s this,” I asked hyung, who is only a few feet from me. “Oh, thank you.” I bowed to the man before taking it.

Millions of things were running through my head.

What was this? What did I forget that I agreed to?

Oh god I had no idea…
