L.A. and Beyond

Into the New World

The next morning I woke up with an extra warm blanket somewhat over top of me, some people also might call her Tiffany. I was a little hesitant about sleeping in the same bed with her father home and everything, but she assured me by saying that she wouldn’t have asked me to if she thought it was too much. I didn’t argue too much with her logic though, and I was glad. I my side so I could get a better view of this angel beside me.

Looking over at Tiffany’s face you would never have guessed that she was an international pop star. No, she wasn’t drooling or anything ridiculous, she was just peaceful and very, very beautiful. Just like any normal 22 year old girl, if that girl just happened to be the most beautiful girl in the world that is. I moved my hand across and pushed a strand of hair back off of her make-up free face. Admiring her beauty I couldn’t help myself, I was completely staring.

Letting my hand linger I caressed her cheek. Gosh her skin was so soft too. Omo, if I’m thinking about soft, I can’t leave out her lips. I moved my thumb to her very kissable lips and grazed them as well. I smiled. Okay, now she definitely needed to wake up.

I scooted closer to her and planted a kiss on her forehead as I called her name. No response. I kissed her nose and then both of her eyelids softly while still calling her name, nothing. Jeesh why was this not working? Time for plan B.

I put both hands on her face and started attacking her face with kisses, making sure to make loud smooching noises along the way. She started laughing and then tried to stop me.

“Tae, I’m up. Stop, stop~,” she whined. I put a cease to my attack and started laughing too. “I was awake the whole time pabo.” Omo. Why wouldn’t she let me know?

“Jinjja?” She hummed with the cutest smile on her reddening face. “Good morning baby,” I said as I wrapped my arms around her. I went in for a kiss, only to be blocked.

“No, gross Taetae. Go brush your teeth first,” she pouted. Seriously?

“I was just kissing you though!”

“It’s different when it’s on the mouth. Go brush your teeth and we can kiss all you want.” Ugh! I don’t even see how there’s a difference! It was what an inch away?

“This is our first full night together and you’re already complaining? Aish. You’re gonna have to get used to this Fany-ah because I’m going to want to kiss you every morning when we wake up in the future,” I said as I laid flat on my back. Oh crap. Did I just say that? Oh no, I totally did. Maybe her Korean will flake out on her this morning.

“H-how far in to the future?”

Damnit, it didn’t.

I don’t know if it was her dad talking about it yesterday or just the fact that I wanted to experience this and wake up next to her every morning, but I couldn’t stop thinking about what it would actually be like to be married to Tiffany. My best guess was somewhere along the lines of perfect. I felt her hand on mine.

Crap! What do I say? Should I tell her exactly what was on my mind? No, I don’t want to weird her out, it’s only the morning. I should play it cool. Yes! That’s it!

“Probably forever,” I said as I turned to smile at her. She was looking at me with wide eyes now. “If that’s okay with you,” I added. Her straight face quickly turned into a beautiful smile as she laid her head on my chest and cuddled in to me.

“Promise?” I chuckled.

“Of course I promise Tiffany.” I grabbed her left hand that was resting on my chest. “I told you this ring was a place holder didn’t I?” She quickly moved her hand out of mine and pulled me in for a kiss. “Yah! I thought you said I had to brush my teeth?” She stopped inches away from kissing me again.

“Are you really complaining right now?”

“Uhm. Nope,” I quickly said while shaking my head. She laughed and kissed me one more time.

“Let’s go shower. We have a lot of things to do today.” She stood up, but I was still taken back by her words.

“Ji-jinjja? Together?” She turned back and nodded at me with the cutest little lip bite I’ve ever seen. Oh my god, she did not have to ask me twice. I was at her side in under a second.

Tiffany really wasn’t lying when she said we had a lot of things to do either. For some god forsaken reason she told her dad that we could prepare all the dishes that he wanted done today so he didn’t have to take the day off work. I mean I didn’t mind, Sooyoung or I usually do most of the cooking in the dorm anyway, it’s just that I was hoping we could have gone out and looked at all the tourist spots and everything.

I guess we really couldn’t do that anyway since Tiffany’s Instagram post last night let the secret out that we were already in LA. We each got calls from our managers earlier telling us that we weren’t allowed to go out alone now, so I guess we were kind of stuck here.

It was around noon when I heard the doorbell ring.

“Fany! Tiffany! Aish, where did that girl go?” The bell rang again and I gulped. I was going to have to get it. I set down the spoon I was stirring with and headed toward the door. Crossing my fingers that the person on the other side spoke Korean I opened the door.

“Ann-annyeonghaseyo?” The girl quickly turned back around and I was in shock. This had to be Tiffany’s sister. They looked so much alike. Every single one of their features were similar. I quickly bowed.

“Annyeong,” she cheerfully greeted back. Oh thank god.

“You speak Korean?”

“Of course. You must be the boyfriend,” she announced. Well their upfront-ness definitely runs in the family. I nodded. “I’m Tiffany’s sister Michelle, you can call me noona. It’s nice to meet you.”

“Ah, uh ne. It’s nice to meet you too. Oh sorry, come in.” I stepped back so she could enter. ! “I am TYS’s leader Kim Taeyeon…er, I mean, I’m Kim Taeyeon. Sorry, the introduction is a habit,” I said as my face started heating up. Jesus where was Tiffany at?

“Ani. It’s fine. You’re a singer just like Tiff right?” I nodded again. “Nice. Are you any good?” What? What kind of question was that?

“Well I guess it all depends on who’s judging me,” I laughed. She didn’t seem too amused. Yikes I guess I’m not doing so hot…Hot. “Oh my god, I left food in the kitchen cooking!” I quickly scurried past her to see that nothing had been burnt, thankfully.

Not long after I heard our new guest call for Tiffany. “Miyoung-ah!” Only seconds after that I heard footsteps racing down the stairs. Unbelievable. I called her multiple times!

“Unnie! Oh come here I want you to meet someone.” I gulped again as I heard them enter the room, I pretended I didn’t though. Tiffany set down the lap top she was carrying  on the counter beside me and hugged me around the waist. “Taeyeon-ah.”

“Oh,” I jumped at the sudden contact. “Hi Fany-ah.”

“This is my sister-“

“Michelle,” I cut her off. “I was the one who let her in pabo-yah.”

“Oh, well good,” she smiled. “I was getting the laptop so we could listen to music while we cooked.”

“You mean I,” I teasingly corrected.

“Shut up, you know what I mean.” Her sister laughed.

“Tiff has never been one to cook. Let me help you.”

“Jinjja?” She hummed.

“First I want to see one of his music videos though.” Omo. I looked at her with wide eyes. “What? I need to see if you’re any match with my baby sister.”

“Ooh deal! I love watching him,” Tiffany cheered, making me feel even more embarrassed. “Which one should she watch first?”

“Uhh,” I said while thinking about it. “I think I sing the best in ‘Nagging’, but I know you don’t like that one, so… ‘No other’?”

“Ani, you’re right, ‘Nagging’ is your most impressive one,” she sighed. Her sister laughed.

“Why don’t you like that one Tiff?”

“She hates it because in the music video I’m in the studio acting kind of cute with my friend IU, who also sings in the song.”

“Aniyo! I don’t hate it! I just get a little jealous.” I moved behind her and wrapped my arms around her while she typed on the computer.

“And there’s nothing to worry about. IU is like my little sister. That’s why we couldn’t keep a straight face during filming when they wanted us to romantically look at each other,” I mocked. She hit play on the video.

“Oh she is cute though,” Michelle commented. Aish! If I knew her better I would have flicked her on the forehead right then and there.

“Whatever, help me cook Fany-ah.” I tightened my grip around her waist and made her walk in front of me to where I was previously stirring the food.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

The day progressed way too quickly for my liking. With the addition of Michelle, all the food was done before I thought it would be though, thankfully.

My nerves however, just kept rising and rising as the time of the little party her father was throwing got nearer and nearer.

The three of us were in the living room watching some really bad American talk show when I heard the front door open. I was the quickest to my feet, soon followed by Michelle, who welcome her dad with a hug.

“Annyeonghaseyo Mr. Hwa-“

“Yah,” he interrupted loudly causing both girls to look at him with wide eyes. I too was a little taken back by his outburst. He was a scary guy when he wanted to be. “What did I tell you to call me?” I let out a breath of relief.

“Oh, ne. Sorry, Ab-abonim.” Tiffany’s eyes shot to me.

“That’s more like it. How’d the cooking go?” His attitude was back to being completely normal and I almost laughed. Jeesh, Tiffany really was his daughter. Their mood swings were almost identical.

“Very well. Michelle helped out a lot.”

“And Stephanie?” I looked away.

“Uh, she was there…” He laughed.

“Yeah, that sounds about right. Very well. People should start arriving soon.” Just like that he was gone up the stairs and Tiffany was on my side.

“When the hell did he tell you to call him that?”

“Yesterday, while you were on the phone with your cousin,” I responded truthfully.

“Jinjja?” I nodded.

“Isn’t it a little obvious?”

“Yah, shut up,” she paused. “Omo. My dad must really like you then.” She wrapped her arms around me squeezing me tight. “This is the best!”

Ten minutes or so later the next person arrived, which happened to be her slightly scary older brother. He was definitely a little intimidating at first, just like her father, but it was sort of nice to see. Not the scary part obviously, I almost cried, but him being so protective over Tiffany, just as her sister was at first. They were still so close after being so far apart for so long. It really made me happy to witness it.

The rest of the night went smoothly as well. I met tons of Tiffany’s aunts and uncles and cousins. A few of her cousins were actually a little more excited to see me though, which I felt kind of bad about. I guess they were big TYS fans. Who knew? They were a little shocked at first to learn that we were dating, but Tiffany had talked to them and their parents about keeping it a secret, for it could probably ruin our careers.

Toward the end of the night Tiffany and I were forced in to singing a duet, which her cousins chose ‘Nagging.’ It took me a few minutes to figure out how to lower the pitch of the song, but once I got it everyone was happy to sit and listen. After the song I signed a few autographs for her cousins because we thought pictures would be a little too risky, and then not too long after that people started leaving.

It was really fun to see Tiffany interacting with everyone this evening. I didn’t mind taking a backseat to watch either. She was even good with the kids, which surprised me the most after seeing how bad she was on Hello Baby, but I guess she was sort of familiar with these children.

I got to chat with a few of the Ahjummas and Ahjussis as well, the ones who could speak well in Korean at least. They were all so welcoming to me too, it was such a warm experience.

After the last couple left I sat on the sofa and let out a deep breath. Tiffany was soon cuddled beside me. “You did great Tae.”

“Jinjja?” She hummed. “Good, I didn’t want to embarrass you with my lack of English skills.”

“Oh shut up, my little cousins loved you.” I started to pull her in tighter but then another voice frightened me.

“Daddy, I’m just going to stay here for the night. Should I go to Tiff’s room?” Fany perked right up.

“You can’t!” Oh man this was going to get awkward.

“What? Why? Your bed is big enough for two brat. Remember dad changed mine in to an exercise room,” she added.

“Well, you’re going to have to go to oppa’s room.”

“Isn’t that where…” She trailed off and then looked back and forth between us. “Oh my god. Daddy’s allowing this?” Tiffany nodded. “Daebak. He must really like you,” she said as she looked at me. “I remember last time I brought a boy home he didn’t even let me do that,” she motioned toward us.

What? Seriously? We were barely even touching! I wonder why it was different for me.

“Fine. Leo’s room it is. Thank god he isn’t staying the night too,” she mumbled as she headed up stairs.

“Let’s go to sleep too Tae. I’m tired.”

“Arasso!” I stood up and pulled her along with me in to her room where she let go of my hand. Now that she mentioned it I was pretty tired myself. I lay flat on her bed without even changing out of the clothes I was in.  Soon I felt a dip in the bed and a smile come to my face, but then there was a sudden new pressure on my hips.

I looked down to see Tiffany in nothing but her bra and , sitting on top of me. A sudden jolt of electricity went through me.

“Omo. Fany what on earth on are you doing?” She grinned down at me.

“You, I was hoping,” she said huskily as I felt myself start to come alive underneath her. She started ing my shirt. Oh god. There was seriously something wrong with this girl. It’s like she wanted us to get caught, or something.

“F-Fany-ah oh my god,” I let out as her hands felt the length of my abs. “What about your-your family?”

“Daddy’s room is on the other side of the house, and if I remember correctly unnie is a heavy sleeper,” so there’s nothing to worry about.” Her hands moved to my pants next, quickly taking care of the button there. It was funny how strongly my head was protesting at the same time my body was doing nothing to stop her.

“Fany-ah,” my head managed to get a word in, but she silenced me with her lips.

“Tae, if I didn’t think we’d get away with it I wouldn’t try. Now take off your clothes,” she ordered.

I laid there dumbfounded for a second.  I wasn’t even sure if it was from her y and demanding words or from her radiant amount of beauty shining down on me, but she totally had me wrapped around her finger.

“You’re such a bully,” I said before capturing her lips in mine. I didn’t mind it one bit.

It was around 8am when my sister barged in my room calling for me to wake up. I silently thanked the heavens she didn’t yank the covers off for I was still a little under dressed from last night’s activities. I smiled again just thinking about it. I quickly got myself dressed and then sat back on the bed. “Tae, Taeyeon,” I called earning no response. “Kim Taeyeon!”

“Ne, ne. Annyeonghaseyo. I am TYS’s Kim Taeyeon.” I started dying of laughter.

I remember sleep talking being one of his sleeping habits from being mentioned in previous broadcasts, but I did not expect this at all. Since s also said he snored loudly, and I found that out to be a lie, I figured they over exaggerated this one as well. Not at all. If anything they undersold it.

He spoke so clearly. Seriously If I didn’t know any better I would have thought he was on the phone or something.

“Tae,” I said once again after I calmed down. I put my hand on his chest and shook him a little. “Taeyeon~.” My efforts finally paid off when I saw him start to blink a few times. “Good morning Taetae. Unnie said she made breakfast, let’s go.” I heard him hum as he nodded, still half asleep. Sleepy Tae was adorable.

He put his feet on the floor, but didn’t stand. He was also a bit of a brat.

“Tae, come on~. Put on a shirt and let’s go.”

“Uh uh,” he groaned like a child. His eyes were still closed as he pointed to his lips. Oh my god, he was really going to drive me crazy. I smiled as I bent down, letting him have his silly morning kiss.

“Muah,” I voiced the kiss. “Now let’s go. I’m hungry.” He giggled as he stood up and made himself decent.

“There you are,” my sister called once we entered the kitchen.

“Sorry, this one was hard to wake up,” I replied.

“Don’t worry. There are still a lot left. Daddy didn’t eat much.”

“Oh did he already go to work? Here Tae, get a plate,” I said switching back to Korean. He took one from my hand.

“Yep. You’re lucky daddy could sleep through a warzone,” she said in English as she helped Taeyeon with the butter followed by the syrup. She handed it to me.

“What do you mean,” I asked as I poured it over my still warm pancakes.

“I mean that you two,” she motioned nodded toward the both of us. “Need to be quieter at night.”

I heard Taeyeon choke on what he was trying to eat as I almost dropped the plate I was holding. Damnit I was hoping he didn't understand that.

“Michelle!”

“What Tiff? He must really be something,” she started. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard you so…vocal,” she wickedly grinned. Her laughter rang throughout the room.

“Oh my god, I can’t believe this,” I said over her. I looked at Taeyeon who was looking straight down, not moving a muscle. Omo, my poor Taetae.

“Michelle seriously stop,” I threatened. Her laughs slowly stopped as I went to Taeyeon. “Tae, she’s just being annoying. She’s not making fun of us or anything.” I sat down beside him and rubbed his back. “We did nothing wrong.”

“That’s for sure,” she commented in Korean.  I shot her the meanest glare I could muster up. “Right, I’m done.” I noticed her taking a few steps closer “Hey, I didn’t mean to make you so upset Taeyeon-ah. I was just teasing ya.”

“A-aniyo,” he finally spoke. “I’m just embarrassed. Really, really embarrassed.”

“Yeah your ears are bright red,” I pointed out with a slight laugh.

“Jinjja,” he asked as he looked up.

“Omo, baby,” I laughed. “Your face is so red,” I said as I brought my hands to his face. “Don’t get so embarrassed Tae.”

“Yeah you should embrace it. In a weird way, it’s kind of a compliment,” my sister spoke up again. God she was seriously the worst.

“Yah! Get out of- oh, your phone’s vibrating.”

“Weird, it’s Soo. Yeboseyo? Of course I’m with Tiffany. What? Seriously? Ugh,” he groaned. “Okay I’ll tell her. In an hour right? Arasso. See you.”

He looked at me with sad eyes. “What’s wrong Tae?”

“Our vacation is over Fany-ah,” he pouted.

“What? Why?” It just started! We still had two or three whole days until everyone else got here.

“The president made a few more schedules for SNSD since you’re all already over here. He also didn’t want us to be reckless and end up in a scandal. Again,” he added. “Hyung will be here to get us in an hour. Let’s go pack our stuff.”

As much as I didn’t want to go, I knew I couldn’t fight it. I followed him hand in hand to my room.  It just had to be over so quick. Ugh! Stupid Lee Sooman.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________

The past week and a half have been so boring, yet so hectic. We had a few interviews, but other than that we were basically held up in the hotel. It was a little better once everyone else got here, but being stuck up in once place is no fun. Sooyoung, Yuri, and I got by though, with a little help from the f(x) girls. Our groups got to spend a lot of time with each other since we both were lacking a bit on the schedule side. Being the new kids kinda !

SNSD however were gone almost every day for different sorts of schedules, from photo shoots to radio interviews. I think they were even on American television, which I thought was pretty cool.

Those days I got to spend with Tiffany alone completely spoiled me though. This past week I don’t think I’ve even had an hour alone with her in total. We got to see each other at breakfast and dinner usually and maybe a few times in passing, but that was it.

All this free time though did give me a chance to try to write a new song. Even though the PD for our new album already has about six or seven of them to choose from, it wouldn’t hurt to have another right? Plus with all the added inspiration from the, uhm, activities Tiffany and I participated in I was feeling even more motivated to write out my feelings and emotions.

Today was finally the day of our concert here in LA and I was excited. Not as excited as Tiffany and Jessica were though. I saw them a couple of minutes ago being led to their dressing room and they were literately bouncing. I guess this was their home field though. It must feel great to be preforming here, where they were born.

We had just finished our first two songs as TYS, now we just had to prepare for our solo acts and then our performance of ‘No Other’ later on. I was up first with my duet with Jessica so I hurriedly changed outfits. Once I had my almost completely white outfit on I made my way to find SNSD’s room. I knocked once I found it and heard a ‘come in.’

“Annyeonghaseyo,” I greeted the stylists as I stepped inside. I mentally cursed though. I was hoping they would be alone so I could at least hug Tiffany. “Hey Jess, are you ready?”

“One minute, unnie is fixing my make up.” I nodded. We did still have a few minutes, I guess I was just nervous.

“How was it out there?”

“Uh, it was different,” I responded truthfully. I heard Tiffany laugh. “It was so weird to hear everyone screaming in English. Even most of the signs were in English, “ I marveled. “I don’t think I can get used to this,” I laughed.

“You guys did great though,” Tiffany complimented with a smile. “We watched you on the playback,” she said as she pointed to a television screen nearby.

“Thank you, I’m sure you guys will blow the roof off too,” I awkwardly replied.

“Yeah, but first let’s go make their fingers curl,” Jessica said as she got up from the chair. With a round of laughter from everyone in the room we were off.

I definitely think she was right however. People seemed to love our duet, even more so than usual. I’m not usually one to brag or anything, but I’d have to say it was the most uh… welcomed duet of the night, which made me even happier.

The crowd really seemed to love Yuri and Sooyoung, along with Key and Minho from SHINee, and Shindong and Eunhyuk from Super Junior’s rap performance too.

Eventually the concert came to an end and we were being loaded on to a bus. From here we were heading straight to Shanghai for our concert next week. Stepping on to the bus I noticed that f(x) was already aboard along with J-Min and their managers. I saw hyung and made my way to where he was.

“Hey, you guys did great tonight. I have all your carry on things here. It’s going to be another long flight. We leave at 11:30 tonight, but we won’t get there until the sixth.”

“Jinjja?” Holy crap. Today was the fourth.

“We’re going to practically jump a day though Taeng,” Soo reminded me. Crap I keep forgetting about this time zone nonsense.

“Yeah the flight is about 14 hours.” Oh man. I stopped listening after that. I needed something to take my mind off of this, and since Fany or any other SNSD member wasn’t here… I looked around. Ah!

Taking a seat behind my target I spoke up. “Annyeong noona,” I teased the younger girl.

“Hey Taeng,” Luna replied. “You guys did great tonight.”

“You too.  It was too bad Amber couldn’t be here though.” Due to an injury, she couldn’t preform with them. I really hoped she recovered soon.

“I know, I think the fans really missed her. I heard you guys are working on a new album though! Are you writing any of the songs?”

“How’d you know?” I was genuinely surprised. I wasn’t sure anyone else knew, besides SNSD of course. “But yeah I am, actually I’m writing all of them. It’s going to be a mini album.”

“Jinjja?” I nodded. “Are they all about you know who?” She was grinning now.

“Ani, not all of them, just most of them,” I laughed.

“Well good. I’m anticipating it. I’m not anticipating this flight though. Oppa said 14 hours. Ugh,” she groaned.

“Don’t remind me,” I groaned back.

“If everyone could take their seats we’ll be leaving soon,” a voice rang from the front.

“Ohp, I guess that’s my cue. I’ll talk to you later Luna-yah,” I said as I ruffled her hair. I took my seat once again beside Sooyoung.

Within the next hour or so we had arrived at the airport, this time it was totally different from how it was when we arrived. Fans were everywhere. Screaming out various things in English and Korean, it was crazy to say the least. With the help of security we safely made it inside, only to be surrounded by more fans. Seriously, we were so lucky when we arrived that no one knew we were here. We eventually made it on to the plane though. It took a lot longer than it should have, but we were there. Gah and we weren’t even the bigger names. SNSD, Super Junior, DBSK, and not to mention BoA, have yet to even reach the airport. I’d really hate to see it once they got here.

It was a little while later when the pilot came on saying that the wheels would be up in twenty minutes, I don’t know why he didn’t just say we were leaving in twenty, but whatever. I got in backpack and pulled out my notepad. Maybe since I had fourteen hours of nothing to do, I could finish up this song I’d been working on all week. While I was searching through, I noticed that something was seriously missing.

“Hyung,” I called as I stood up to look behind me. He hummed. “Where are my peas?”

“Your peas? Oh! I put them in your suit case. Why?” Oh no. I sat back down and put my face in my hands. Oh god, I haven’t flown without them! What am I going to do?

“I told you that you don’t need them when I’m here pabo.” I looked up and saw the face of an angel, or it might have just been Tiffany smiling, but they were pretty similar.

“Fany-ah, I mean, uhm Tiffany. What are you doing here?”

“I’m sitting there,” she pointed to where Soo was sitting. I looked to him and then back to her. Uhm, I’m not quite sure how that was going to work out… “Oh my god,” she rolled her eyes. “He’s obviously moving.”

“Yah, what makes you think I’ll move. I like this seat,” Sooyoung announced. “I’m by the window.”

“My seat is next to Sunny.”

“Right, see ya Taengo.” He stood up. “Hyung, noona and I are switching seats.” He grabbed his carry on and just like that he was gone, leaving me with my jaw dropped and a smirk across Fany’s face. I laughed a few times.

“Did that…did that really just happen?” She nodded.

“Now scoot. I don’t want to sit by the window.”

“Uh, oh. Right.” I shifted over a seat, still in shock of what just happened.

Soo-freaking-young. That little punk totally likes Sunny. I’ve never seen him act that way with anyone, besides Jessica, but he didn’t even act like that toward her anymore. Daebak.

“Fany-ah. You’re totally right. Soo likes Sunny. He has to.”

“You’re just now seeing that?” I nodded. “Wow, no wonder I had to make the first move. You’re clueless babe,” she said quietly as she pinched my chin. I fought off her hand with a playful glare.

Just then the captain came on and instructed us to all put on our seatbelts, for we would be taking off soon. I quickly did so. As soon as I finished I felt Tiffany’s hand come in to mine and smiled. Thankfully the only ones around that could see us, were f(x)’s Sulli and Krystal, who were across the aisle from us, but since they already knew I didn’t care. Now we just had to keep an eye out for the flight attendants. Tiffany reassured me though when she said that no one was allowed to walk around during takeoff. Everything went well and we were soon in the air.

“Oh, what’s this,” she asked as she let go of my hand.

“What’s what?” I looked to where she was grabbing. Oh no! I immediately stopped her hand. “You can’t. It’s…it’s where I’m writing a few songs.”

“Jinjja?” Her face lit up. I nodded. “Can I look at it?”

“Ani. It’s personal,” I said as I hugged it tighter against me.

“Oh good grief Taeyeon. If it’s about me I should get to read it don’t you think?”

“Nope,” I answered quickly.

“Ugh, fine,” she sighed. “How many are in that notebook?” I gave her a look. “What? At least tell me that!”

“Okay, okay. Uhm,” I paused to think. “Five? None of them are finished though, it’s just bits and pieces,” I explained. “Well, one is almost finished,” I said thinking about the one I started this past week. For some unknown reason that one has been almost writing itself. All the words have been flowing out of me so quickly. I figured it was probably because that feeling was always, and I mean always, on my mind.

“Oh yeah?” I hummed. “Can I read it once it’s done?”

“Nope,” I laughed. “But you can listen to it once it comes out on our next mini album. If you buy it that is,” I teased.

“Yah, and you called me a bully.” I stuck my tongue out at her and quickly put my notebook away.

It was about an hour or so into the flight when I noticed that she had finally fallen asleep. Good! Now I can finally try to finish this song.

I really wanted to get it done so I could show the PD once we got back to Korea. I thought I had done a good job on it, so far that is. It’s definitely the most expressive song that I’ve written, but no one knew who it was about so everything would be alright. I smiled as turned to the page I had left off on.

“Hmm,” I hummed aloud. All of a sudden I felt weight on my shoulder. Omo. Tiffany was leaning on me. I hid the notebook.

Wait… Was she still asleep? Omo! I had to wake her up. Aish no, I can’t do that to her. But people are going to see you Taeyeon, I mentally yelled. So what? She’s just resting on my shoulder, it’s not a big deal right?

Even so, did I really care if I people knew anymore? I thought about it for a good couple of minutes.

I really don’t think I do. Holy crap. I totally don’t!

After being able to be with her in public like I was those few days I can see what I’m really missing. Of course it would be a whole different situation back in Korean with all the fans and paparazzi, but I’d still get to be with her without having to hold myself back.

That’s it. I’ve decided. I’m done worrying.

Obviously I won’t go shout it to the world or make our relationship any more noticeable than usual, but if Fany wants to, or if we happen to just slip up I’m not going to try to cover it up. Although I’m a little worried about what our fans will say, they should be happy for us right? Ugh! I wish we could just go somewhere far away from everything for a while.

I felt Tiffany then snuggle her head even closer in and then I smiled. “Fany-ah, are you really asleep?” This brat really was trying to get us caught. She didn’t respond. Should I move and look? Nah, what if she actually is? Hmm… Ahha!

“Sulli-yah,” I called. She looked around for a second before realizing it was me who called her.

“Ne oppa?”

“Is she really asleep?” The younger girl got out of her seat and quickly moved her hand in front of Tiffany’s face, stopping just before she hit her. Omo, she moved so quick I couldn’t even try to stop her. She was laughing.

“Looks like it to me. Calm down oppa, I wasn’t going to smack her. Aish,” she said as she shook her head and returned to her seat.

“Th-thanks.” Oh well. I guess since she was sleeping I could continue the song. I pulled the notebook back out.

After a little more revising and fine tuning, I think I was finally done. I even had what I wanted it to sound like in my head, sort of at least. I was never good with the music part of the song. I could sing out how I wanted it to sound kind of, but after that I wasn’t much help.

I looked at my watch. Holy crap, I’ve been doing that for two hours! Maybe I should try to sleep too. I hesitantly leaned my head against Tiffany’s. I suddenly felt at ease, as I felt myself drift farther and farther away from consciousness.

When I woke up a few hours later my head was against the wall of the plane. What the heck? I stretched my arms in front of myself as I looked around.

“Oh good you’re up! Want a slice?” She didn’t even give me time to answer before shoving what I soon found out to be an orange in my mouth. “Sorry I had to move you against the wall, I gave you a pillow though,” she smiled as I picked up the ‘pillow’ that happened to be my sweatshirt.

“Your head was a much better pillow,” I said softly.

“I’m sorry Taetae, ahh,” she fed me another slice. “I had to pee though so a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do,” she laughed. I smiled.

“How much longer do we have?”

“Like five hours? I’m not sure.” I nodded. “How’s your Chinese?”

“My what?”

“Your Chinese pabo. How well can you speak it?” Oh! Of course that’s what she was asking. Duh Taeyeon, come on.

“Uh, I can do the basics I think. Why?”

“Seriously Taeyeon? We’re going to China. Hello?” She laughed. “You need to go back to sleep.”

“Yeah, I think so too,” I laughed. My head was still all fuzzy.

“Here,” she patted her shoulder. “I promise I won’t move this time.”

There were two things I learned this past week. I really missed Korean food, and I was somehow great at Chinese. That was according to Zhang Liyin at least. I took it as a pretty huge compliment though since she was from China.

I was sort of mad that my English skills weren’t as great, but hey, at least we didn’t totally embarrass ourselves on stage yesterday. Chinese is the one language Sooyoung does not have under his belt, so I was glad I could step up. The show went smoothly though, no accidents! I was just glad when it was over. Not because I didn’t want to preform or anything, it’s just that we could go back home after this concert and I really missed my bed.

We had got back to Korea late last night since it was only a two hour flight from Shanghai to Seoul. I didn’t get to sit by Tiffany, but I did have the peas this time. I don’t think I really needed them anymore though. All these long flights these past weeks have sort of settled my nerves. Now I just kept them around because I’ve grown quite fond of them. The constant reminder of Tiffany wasn’t bad either, but it wasn’t like I needed anymore help with that anyway.

I woke up at around noon, and that was only because I was forced. Hyung was here to take us to the studio. Today we were going to see the song selection the PD had made and potentially start recording. I was also going to bring my newest song to show them. I really hoped that it could go on the album this time.

“Come on Taeng, we have to meet them at one,” he called.

“Okay, okay,” I replied while literately rolling out of bed. “Ow. Jesus.” I didn’t think I was that far on the edge. Oh well.

Not too long after we were all in the van for the short trip to the SM building.

“Oh, you guys have an early schedule tomorrow, so don’t even think about sleeping in again.”

I groaned aloud. “What is it?”

“Man, not even a day back in Korea and were already being shoved on things,” Soo said.

“This one was personally scheduled by the president, so I’d quit complaining.” He did, and quick too. “It’s Invincible Youth. He wants you three to go make up for the fact Sunny was missing for two weeks due to the tour.”

That made sense, I guess. Oh well. I remember that show was fun last time I went so I didn’t mind. Wait a second…

“The members have changed right?”

“Yeah, everyone’s new besides Sunny,” hyung responded. Oh thank god. I did not need any more Hara drama anytime soon.

We soon arrived at SM and located the room we would be working in today. Thankfully we had a few minutes before the PD was supposed to be here, for I still wasn’t sure what to say. ‘Hey, put this song in too, please?’ Ani, that wouldn’t work. Hmm. I walked in behind Soo and then  froze.

Oh crap. Why is Lee Sooman here? We all fully bowed.

“Oh, uhm I’m so sorry are we late? I thought you said to meet here at 1,” hyung nervously asked.

“Ani, we’re early. I came to get a last feel of the songs. I had one of our music guys work on this while you were all gone. I thought we should make the final decision together, since you wrote them as well Taeyeon-ah.”

“Ah, n-ne.”

“He said he had tried to do it how you had explained to the best of his abilities, so let’s take a listen shall we?” I nodded.

“Okay, but sir,” I paused. Oh god I can’t go back now. “I wrote a new song over the past few weeks and I thought it might be a good choice to be put on the album as well.” I quickly opened the notebook and set it on the table in front of him. Unable to watch his reaction I looked straight down. The room was completely silent. I really think I could hear my actual heartbeat.

“This,” he started after a minute or so. “Is very different from your previous single. It’s not bad. Actually, it’s written quite well, but,” he paused. I had to look up now. He just complimented it! But of course there was a but. “Your image is going to have to completely change.” I let out the breath I was holding. “You won’t be able to keep the cute image after this. Not for a while at least.”

“We can do it sir,” I assured. “If that’s what you think is best, I mean.” He hummed.

“I do like the idea of my one of my groups having a ier and harder image. You guy’s will be able to dab in to Big Bang or 2PM’s fan base with this,” he said with a smile. I seriously doubted that though. They were two of the most loved male groups in Korea right now. “How were you thinking of it sounding?”

“Uhm, sort of like ‘Beautiful Stranger’ Soo and Yuri would rap the first verses and then I would come in for the chorus. I thought I marked that on there.”

“Oh you did, I’m sorry.” He paused again. “Yeah this looks really good Taeyeon. I’ll have someone start working on it ASAP.  It might be good enough for the single, we’ll see. Let’s take a listen to the other ones for now.”

I nodded excitedly now. I’ve never seen Lee Sooman so happy about anything! This made me even happier about my decision to show him.
