On Stage

Into the New World

I spent the night after my first ever solo concert exactly how I wanted to.

Well after the multiple interviews and a quick late dinner, er well snack kind of thing with Soo and Sunny that is.

The interviews went exactly how I thought they would though. Question after question about how it felt or did it feel any different because it was our solo concert, and you can’t forget the ‘how is Japan different from Korea’ questions…

Omo, I had to force myself to stay awake.

The filming of WGM sure woke me up though. The six of us went to a cafe that was open 24 hours and had a bite to eat. I made sure I ordered something with a LOT of caffeine. Thankfully we didn’t have to stay long though. I guess they needed their alone time.

While Soo and Sunny went to go reminisce on their past almost year of being ‘married’, I got to go back to the hotel and cuddle with Tiffany for a few hours.

I thought it was all pretty silly anyway, I mean it’s not like they were actually breaking up and they would obviously see each other again soon. Not only are we in the same company, but two members from both of our groups are openly dating each other.

Hell even if Sunny and Sooyoung weren’t dating they would see each other within a week… It was literately inevitable.

Whatever, I guess I did get to hold my precious Fany-ah for a few hours before they had to actually leave for Guam, so I was okay with it.

They were gone for almost four days, but honestly I was so busy I almost didn’t even notice it.

Of course I missed her, but even if she was here I probably wouldn’t have been able to see for longer than fifteen minutes. I mean we only got to sleep around three or four hours each night let alone have time to have social lives too.

On top of our rehearsing for the next two tour dates, which were coming up even quicker than I remembered, we were also nonstop recording for our new album. I don’t know what it was, but SM was always rushing us to finish our recording.

This time I think they had a real excuse. My guess was that it was because they wanted us to get out another album to promote before the wedding and so it could squeeze in before SNSD’s promoting started.

There was no way in hell we’d win against them.

All of this was only in addition to my filming for Immortal Song 2, learning new choreography, AND filming an ad with my members for the past three days off and on.

Ugh, it was times like these when I really wished people could hibernate too.

Actually now that I’m thinking about it, a few good things did come from these sleepless nights.

It hasn’t even been three weeks and we were almost done with recording. I guess with it being only six songs it wasn’t that impressive. Hyung said we should be finished next week sometime though and that made me pretty happy.

Actually, no it didn’t. At all.

That only meant we’d have to spend even more time practicing the dance moves. Ugh… They were just as hard as last time too, maybe even worse.

Thinking about Immortal Song kind of bummed me out too. Last week was my last episode. I thought I was going to get to be on there for a while, but hyung and SM had to pull me out so I could spend more time focusing on the album and our tour, and well everything else I was busy with right now too.

I did go out with a bang though, and by bang I mean win. It was a pretty good win too if I do say so myself. Not only did I beat Hyorin and Changmin, but Yesung and Kyuhyun were guests this week to fill in for Honggi and Junsu.

I still won though!

I won over two of the best vocals in SM! Wah~! It was rather exciting. I had to bite my cheeks from smiling too much when it happened. Oh goodness it felt great.

I hoped today would be just as amazing.

It was the first of the two concerts taking place in Seoul and I couldn’t be more thrilled. There were multiple reasons too. For one there were going to be a few more special guests than the first two shows, one of which was Tiffany.

Secondly it was Tiffany’s birthday today, so I decided I was going to surprise her on stage after our duet. I wasn’t sure what I was actually going to do just yet, but I still had a few hours to figure it out.

Afterwards though if it’s not too late I was going to see if my family wanted to stay and have dinner with all of us, or maybe only Fany and I. I still don’t know yet.

I should probably start figuring these things out in advance…

It might be a good thing that I didn’t though. All the worrying and thinking about what to do for Tiffany sure helped me keep my mind off all my nerves about tonight.

I just really hoped the fans liked it.

It was around noon when I made it to the concert venue to start preparing for the show. We were about a third of the way in to our dry rehearsal when I heard cheering from the side of the stage.

What the?

I looked over and it was none other than my beautiful Fany-ah. Thankfully at around the same time the song we were practicing ended.

“Alright then,” Hyung started loudly, pulling my attention away from her. “Now you all would do introductions and talk for a minute or two then go back stage and get changed.”

“Ne” we replied in unison. We all knew the lineup, but hyung was just going over it again so we could get the audio levels just right and everything.

“Alright let’s take a five minute break before we start going over the solo acts.” I mentally cheered and hurriedly started toward Tiffany. “Where’s f(x),” I heard him mumble as I walked, er… well jogged past him.

Those thoughts quickly left my brain when I entered Tiffany’s welcoming arms. Ah~ it made me feel like a weight had been lifted.

Maybe I did notice her not being here and I just didn’t notice that I noticed… if that makes any kind of sense…

“MMM,” I voiced as I squeezed her in as tight as I could. Oh god she smelled so good too. I took a deep breath in, “Happy Birthday my love, I missed you.”

“You’ve already said that to me three times today Taetae,” she laughed. “But thank you.”

“Yah~! This is the first time in person though,” I argued.

“Well thank you Taeyeon-ah,” she smiled. “I’m happy I get to spend it with you.”

“Me too,” I grinned. Since Tiffany had a few days off before she had to get back to work, she declared that she would be spending them all with me.

I tried to talk her in to going home to visit her family, but she said that she wouldn’t get to spend a lot of time with them anyway because of all the time differences and that the long trip there and back wouldn’t be worth it. She then told me that they were coming to Seoul a few weeks before the wedding to visit though, which was weird and kind of great because my family was coming up from Jeonju to stay for a few weeks as well to help out.

Oh that reminds me!

“My parents are coming tonight. Hayeon too.”

“Jinjja?” I nodded.

“Hayeon is excited to see you and so is umma,” I commented. “They probably even want to see you more than me!”

“Aye~ you know that’s not true.”

“I don’t know,” I laughed. “I really think it is.” Her smile was flawless as it turned into a sly little grin.

“Oh well, it just leaves more of you for me then, huh?” Oh goodness.

“You don’t need to worry about that Fany-ah. I’m all~ yours.”

I was back stage with my manager and f(x) watching the concert from inside their waiting room. TYS only had one song before their talk portion and then it was time for the solo acts.

“Why didn’t unnie come back here,” Krystal asked me as she returned from changing her outfit.

“Jess, Sunny, and Seohyun all wanted to watch their show from the audience,” I replied honestly. I probably would be out there too if I wasn’t going on stage in like ten minutes.

Speaking of, I was already dressed and ready to go and everything. Now when Taeyeon came running in he would only have to change his shirt and we’d be able to go on stage.

We were the first to perform after all. There wasn’t that big of a window for us to get out there.

As we watched the talk end on the monitor I stepped excitedly out into the hall to wait for him. The waiting rooms were closer to each other now unlike the ones in Japan thankfully.

Within the next thirty seconds I saw a small group of people heading my way and Taeyeon was leading the pack. Omo…

He was also shirtless. Oh wow, he must have started to work out again.

Oh dear lord~!

No Tiffany! There isn’t time for that now.

Ugh, how could someone so sweet and cute have all that working for them underneath too though?

I wasn’t complaining, like... at all, I’m just saying that I seriously have the perfect package in Kim Taeyeon.

A stylist handed him a shirt outside of the room and he didn’t even stop to put it on. He quickly took the shirt, thanked her, and kept walking toward me.

“Let’s go~!” I nodded and swiftly matched my pace with his. “Are you ready,” he asked while buttoning up his fresh black shirt. I hummed.

“I’m SNSD, I’m always ready Taetae,” I responded playfully. I watched him button the rest of his shirt and I got curious… “Have you been working out again?” He laughed.

“You noticed?” I hummed again.

“How could I not? You’re even -i- oh annyeonghaseyo,” I stuttered and quickly bowed to the oncoming group of people. Their presence truly shocked me.

“Ah, annyeonghaseyo,” the girl greeted back. Taeyeon then quickly greeted her as well.

The real question was why she was here in the first place, backstage especially…

“Sooyoung and everyone else should be right down this hall,” he said.

Sooyoung?

“Ah thank you,” she said before we parted ways. I waited until she was out of earshot to question it.

“Why the hell is CL here?”

“Uh, well I guess I can tell you now,” he laughed. Uh yeah, you better, I threatened mentally. “She and Sooyoung have been working on a song together and they’re performing it at the Seoul concerts.”

“Working on it as in…” I guess I was still confused.

“They wrote it together and now they’re performing it together. Don’t you remember that whole thing about CL wanting to work with Soo? I thought I told you,” he mumbled.

“You did,” I responded, but I never thought it was going to happen. I mean JYP and SM rarely interact, but YG and SM almost never interact.

Wow. Hold up…

“Why didn’t you tell me?” He chuckled again.

“Because Soo asked me to keep a lid on it.” Ugh…

“But it’s me!” He grabbed my hand.

“I know baby, but he kept Hyoyeon a secret, so I had to repay his favor.”

“Ugh,” I sighed. Wait a sec. Does that mean… “Does Sunny know?”

“Nope. It’s a surprise.”

“Uh-oh.” That wasn’t going to go over well...

“Huh? Why uh-oh?”

“Uhm, nothing. Never mind…but if you ever, and I mean ever perform with another girl you have to tell me. Got it?”

He looked at me confusedly and nodded. “Got it..?”

“Good.”

“Taeyeon-ssi, if you could come with me,” one of the crew members had said just as we reached the area.

“Ne~. Do well Fany.” I smiled.

“When don’t I?” His brows rose questioningly and I laughed. “I’m just kidding Tae~, but go. I’ll see you in a minute.” He started to walk away and I couldn’t believe it. “Yah!” He quickly turned back around.

“What?” His eyes were wide and full of worry until I touched my cheek twice. His eyes softened into the mini eye smile I love and I couldn’t help but grin as he closed the gap between us.

“MUAH,” he sounded loudly as he kissed my cheek. Oh god, he was so embarrassing, especially when I tried to get a real kiss from the punk.

He stuck his tongue out and ran off down the hall, catching up to the crew member in seconds. I shook my head in disbelief.

“I’m literately marrying a ten year old,” I sighed.

Within the next few minutes I was led behind the doors that I would be coming out from on stage.

I heard the music start and the crowd roar. After I took a deep breath, I stepped out into the spotlight and began.

Just like during the rehearsal, I walked toward the middle of the stage as I sang my verse. That was when Taeyeon came in with a thundering roar supporting him. I couldn’t help but smile at his glowing presence on stage either.

This was truly the thing he excelled in the most.

His grin was so big I could literately hear the smile in his voice as he sang. He took my hand during his chorus making the crowd go crazy yet again and soon we took off down the middle runway in a fast paced walk as Taeyeon kept singing the bridge of the song just as beautifully as the rest. We stopped just in time for me to belt out my notes as planned.

I planted a quick kiss on his cheek per usual and soon the song ended.

“Thank you, thank you,” we said together while bowing a few times. Gah the crowd was incredible.

“Ne, thank you everyone,” Taeyeon said loudly. “Now, I hope you all don’t get mad at me, but I want to say one more thing before we leave the stage. Is that okay?”

The fans all cheered back a huge ‘ne!’

I just clapped along, for I had no idea what he was going to say.

“Alright~! Today is a huge day.”

Ahh, okay. He was going to talk about the concert. He was right though, it was a pretty big day. His first solo concert’s stop in his own country… Wah~ I remember our first performance in the US-

“Tiffany’s Birthday is today,” Taeyeon cheered loudly.

Omo. He wasn’t….

“Wah,” he laughed. “She didn’t know I was going to do this and look at her face,” he laughed again.

I faked a punch earning laughter from the crowd. Ugh… he was so getting a real one once we left the stage.

“So if everyone will help me sing ‘Happy Birthday’ I’ll get off the stage so you can watch all the other great performances, okay?”

Oh my god he was seriously doing this.

“Ne,” the crowd cheered again.

My face started to heat up as he counted to three and soon the whole venue was filled with thousands of Taeyeon’s fans’ voices, but I could only hear Taeyeon’s.

Not because he was the only one holding a microphone, but because I really only focused on him.

Embarrassment aside, I felt so happy in that moment. He took time out of his concert to wish me a happy birthday in front of thousands of people that were here for him. Some of them probably even hated me to be honest.

Gah! It was such a big night for him and he was still only thinking of me… Aigo~ I loved him so much.

I wonder what else this kid had planned.

The song was quickly put to an end and Taeyeon almost immediately had his arms around me.

“Happy Birthday Fany-ah. I love you,” he said in my ear. After a quick peck to my cheek he turned back to the audience, who were seriously cheering now.

“Thank you all again so much,” he paused and looked around before shouting one more time. “Music please~!”

The spotlight on us faded out just as the music for Yuri and Sooyoung’s ‘Like A G6’ performance started up.

We were led quickly back to his waiting room by a few crew members and I didn’t even get to thank him because all of the people now surrounding him. Instead I just held on to his hand tightly, until he started taking of his shirt again that is.

“Taeyeon~!” He froze.

“What?” Oh my god…

“At least let me step out of the room before you start taking it all off.” He laughed.

“Fany-ah~ it’s only us, my managers, and a stylist in here… I’m pretty everyone in here has seen me at least half .” He winked. Oh my god.

“Kim Taeyeon,” I said through gritted teeth. “I don’t want people to get the wrong idea about us.” I knew we were engaged and everything, but still… Rumors were the worst.

“Tiffany, I promise everything will be fine. I wouldn’t do this if I thought it would end up badly. Oh thank you noona,” he said to the lady. “See. My shirt is on and now we’re good to go,” he laughed. “It took less than a minute.”

He was right. He was usually the more careful one… and it wasn’t like he was changing his pants or anything. Hell, Sooyoung and Yuri were showing their bodies on stage!

Whew~, he was right.

Gah, when did you become the worried one Tiff?

Ugh, whatever.

“Let’s go watch the concert with f(x).” He laughed.

Huh?

“It’ll probably only be Luna since everyone else is getting ready.” Oh that’s right… I did kind of kick her out of the line-up

I’ll definitely have to apologize for that later.

By the time we got to the room though I had completely forgotten about the apology. My eyes were now glued to the monitor.

Yuri and Sooyoung’s ‘Girls’ song was over and now it was time for Sooyoung’s solo, er well duet now that CL was here.

This should be interesting.

I used this performance as inspiration.
(I didn't want to use this exact song  becase it's a little too 'YG love' for an SM artist to be singing and I couldn't find another song that was like this so~ that's why this one will be unspecified. Sorry!)

The lights rose on the stage and it was only Soo. I almost asked Taeyeon about CL, but she was quickly brought in, followed by a huge roar from the crowd. It was seriously incredible.

They started their rapping going back and forth and I was very impressed. I knew Sooyoung could rap, but I’ve never seen him this… well, in the zone? He was flawless.

The energy they had together was even better, going back and forth feeding off each other’s energy…Wah~ it was so good.

It was Sooyoung’s turn when he extended a hand to her and let her twirl around once. I couldn’t help but laugh now. It was just so-

“Oh my god.”

After the twirl he pulled her immediately into him. Their faces got so close that I really thought they were about to kiss. Holy…

There was an awkward pause among the three of us backstage, for we all knew he and Sunny were dating, and we also knew she was in the audience.

Thankfully they separated after that uh… close encounter and walked to different sides of the stage.

“Whoa~, they’re so good,” Luna marveled thirty or so seconds later. I was about to agree again, but then they pulled another shocking move on stage.

This time it was even worse…

CL pulled him in to a sort of hug where she then ran her hand down his back and made this lip biting smile kind of thing that was very, VERY suggestive.

Oh my god.

What the... Why would he…  I don’t even know what to think right now.

I knew it was probably for the performance, but still. I can’t believe Sooyoung would agree to do that...

All I knew was that this was not going to be good. I looked at Taeyeon and his eyes were as wide as could be. He was probably just as shocked as I was.

Thankfully the song ended a little after that and I couldn’t have been happier or more nervous actually.

I wonder what was running through Sunny’s head right now. I mean I’m pissed off and he’s not even my boyfriend.

If Taeyeon did something like that without warning me… Oh god.

He’d be so dead. I couldn’t even…

No.

I just needed to talk to Sunny.

_______________________________________________________

After the encore I got to see Taeyeon for approximately four minutes before he had to run off to an interview.

Ugh, what’s even worse is that f(x) was with them. I had no one to talk to!

I sat down on a sofa in the waiting room and did just that; wait.

I waited and waited, ugh. It took almost ten minutes for someone to come through the door that wasn’t part of the staff.

I heard the door open so I turned to check if it was another crew member or even one of their managers for the fifth time so I could ask how much longer they would be, but my luck had changed, sort of...

“O-Oh Hyoyeon oppa, annyeonghaseyo,” I quickly stood and greeted.

“Annyeong~,” he cheered back playfully.

“I thought you would have already left,” I laughed awkwardly. I know he’s my boyfriend’s cousin, but we still weren’t very close... at all.

“Nah, tonight and tomorrow are the last time I’m performing with Taengo so I figured I’d hang out with him while he’s in Seoul.” I nodded. That made sense. “Oh crap I totally forgot. It’s your birthday right?”

“It is,” I said while nodding. He grinned.

“Ah, well happy birthday then soon to be cousin… no wait, cousin in law? Right?”

“Ne, I think that’s right,” I laughed. Since he used the Korean term for it I wasn’t completely sure. All those terms get mixed up for me. “Oh and thank you oppa.”

“Don’t worry about it, we’re family now… well we will be soon,” he joked causing a huge smile to come across my face.

Not just because of how he said it, but because it made me so happy to even think about the day Taeyeon and I would be married.

“Since it’s your birthday I’m sure you two have plans though right?”

“Actually, I’m not sure what he has planned,” I said truthfully. He hadn’t said much about it to me.

“Well~ whatever it is I’m sure you don’t want me tagging along so just tell him I’ll see him tomorrow, okay?” He smiled once more before heading to the door.

“But Hyo-,” I said in my attempt to stop him, but someone else did it for me. Just as he opened the door, four more people were already on their way in. It was-

Oh no.

It was Taeyeon’s manager followed by Hayeon and Taeyeon’s parents.

Taeyeon’s parents who were also Hyoyeon’s aunt and uncle that he hadn’t seen in years.

Many, many years.

Hayeon didn’t seem to notice, for she was already running toward me calling ‘unnie’, but his parents definitely did.

“Unnie look! I’m wearing the outfit you bought me,” the now 12 year old called out. I quickly looked down at her in the outfit I sent to her for her birthday last month, but my eyes were swiftly refocused to Mr. and Mrs. Kim.

To say they looked shocked would be an understatement. Oh god, I have to do something.

“Mm, they look great on you Hayeon-ah,” I commented quickly. “Umma, abonim! I’m so glad you could make it. Taeyeon is super excited to see you.”

“O-oh Miyoung-ah it’s so nice to see you again,” his mother said as she looked to me.

Whew, I succeeded in getting their attention away from Hyoyeon.

“Oh…? Aren’t you… aren’t you my cousin?”

Just kidding.

Damnit Hayeon…

“Uh… ye-yeah, I am,” he replied with a small smile. “I guess we haven’t seen each other in a while, huh kiddo?”

“I am not~ a kid,” she almost shouted, causing us to all laugh.

“Right, right. I’m sorry Ha-Hayeonie?” She hummed and turned toward me.

“Where’s oppa?” Well, that was a quick subject change.

“Uhm, oh. Taeyeon is doing an interview right now. He should be back soon don’t worry… Did you like the show,” I asked quickly.

I didn’t want the conversation to fall back to Hyoyeon and make this awkward for everyone, so I tried to lead the conversation away from him.

“Yes! They were awesome! You were even better unnie,” Hayeon admitted.

“Aye~,” I voiced. “Taeyeon was way better than me.”

“Ne, you two were very great,” his mom commented. I thanked her with a huge smile. “You and Taeyeon were great too, Hyoyeon-ah.”

Hmm… maybe it wouldn’t be as awkward as I thought.

“Your parents would be proud,” Taeyeon’s dad finally spoke.

“Uh-uh ne, thank you uncle,” he stuttered out.

Just before anyone could say anything else, the door opened again.

“Oh thank god,” I mumbled. “Tae-oh… Seohyun?”

“Oh unnie, eomonim, abonim, annyeonghaseyo,” she bowed politely.

Hmm, where were Jessica and Sunny? Before I got the chance to ask, the door opened again revealing two managers and then finally Taeyeon, Yuri, and Sooyoung.

Oh finally, I internally shouted.

Taeyeon immediately hugged his mom and sister while his father gave him a nice pat on the back. I heard his mom say something along the lines of ‘I’m proud of you’ before they finally noticed the rest of us watching.

After everyone else said their greetings to one another Yuri asked the question that I had asked mentally ten minutes ago.

“Where are Sica and Sunny?”

“They went back to the dorm already,” she said cautiously, almost like she was trying to hide something. I think I already knew what it was though.

“What~? They’re not coming out to celebrate with us,” Taeyeon asked anxiously as he took a few steps closer to me.

“They said they were sorry and that we would celebrate her birthday when we got back to the dorm though.”

“Aish, I guess that’s alright… Oh, Hyoyeon hyung wh-what are you doing here.”

The elephant in the room just doubled in size.

His eyes widened as he started to stutter. “I-I uhm, I-I was just leav-“

“Why don’t you come with us to dinner dear,” his mom interrupted.

Omo.

“Really,” Taeyeon asked excitedly. Hyoyeon seemed pretty surprised as well. His mom nodded.

“You seriously don’t mind?”

“Of course not Hyoyeon-ah, you’re our nephew… and we can tell your parents that you’re doing well after we feed you,” she laughed.

“Ah uh, well if you don’t mind,” he said bashfully.

That’s right. Kim Hyoyeon, the charismatic dance machine of H2YO, was acting bashful.

This was going to be one interesting night.

______________________________________________________

“Why aren’t Sooyoung oppa and Yuri oppa coming too,” Hayeon asked curiously.

I couldn’t tell her exactly why because well, and I quote Taeyeon when he said that they were going home to ‘call their women’, which actually probably wasn’t that smart of an idea.

If Sunny was mad enough to not come out with us, she probably wasn’t going to answer the call of the guy that pissed her off in the first place.

That was just my guess though.

I knew the reason Sunny didn’t come had to be because of Sooyoung though, for I’m sure she thought that he would come with us. Jessica probably stayed with her for support too, so I definitely understood their absence.

I’ll just have to talk to them when I got back. I couldn’t let this stop me from having a perfectly good dinner with Taeyeon and his family… and Seohyun.

“Where are we going oppa~,” Hayeon asked now from the backseat.

Since Taeyeon drove his car today Seohyun, Hyoyeon, Hayeon, Taeyeon, and I were all riding with him.

Wow that was a lot of ‘Yeon’s.’

“We are meeting Umma and Appa at a restaurant to have a birthday dinner for Tiffany.”

“I know~ that,” she said sassily. “But where?”

Omo… She was being so funny. Even earlier she was a little ball of sass. I could barely keep the laughter in.

“Yah~ you’ll just have to wait and see won’t you?” They each stuck their tongue out at the other before Hayeon started talking again.

“How much longer till your wedding unnie?”

Well that wasn’t random at all…

“Uhm, well it’s October 27th, so~,” I held out while I thought about it. “Three months-ish? Right Taetae?” He hummed.

“It’s a little under three months away Hayeonie. Why?“ That was a good question. I was curious too.

“I was just wondering. Umma said I was going to be the flower girl…”

“Yep, if you want to be.”

“Do I get to wear a pretty dress?” I hummed with a grin.

“Of course! Unnie will pick it out for you.”

“Jinjja?!” I turned to see her looking at me with wide eyes. Jesus, it was crazy how much she looked like Taeyeon…

I wonder who our kids would loo- Oh my god.

Tiffany Hwang, did you seriously just think about that again?

NO. No children for at least five years. Gah… I can’t believe you.

“Unnie?”

“Oh uhm… mhm, you’ll get to walk down the aisle and everything.”

“Omo,” I heard the girl mutter just as Taeyeon’s hand slipped into mine.

Thankfully after ten more minutes and a million more questions from the little girl, we had arrived. We met his parents at the entrance and were led to a private room.

The night progressed quickly as we talked about everything from Taeyeon’s new album to every single detail of the house we were in the process of purchasing. His parents were dying to see it.

I really cursed myself for not taking pictures. Seriously Taeyeon and I take pictures of everything BUT the things we need to…

“I still don’t think you needed to buy that big of a place Taeyeon-ah,” his mother commented.

“Umma~ where would you all sleep when you came to visit then? I wouldn’t let you sleep on the floor and I’m sure not giving up my bed,” he laughed. Oh my-

“Taeyeon,” I scolded. His hand held mine again.

“I’m just kidding Fany-ah~. I would give up my bed for you umma… but since we’ll have more than one bedroom it won’t be necessary.” I heard his mother sigh.

I knew that exact feeling. Sometimes you just cannot get your way with him.

“That means I’ll get my own room when we visit right oppa?” He hummed.

“Of course. Unless other people are visiting too-,” he froze, cutting his own word short. “Omo! I just had the best idea!” We all looked at him questioningly. “When you all come up for our wedding why don’t you just stay in our house? We should have it by then.”

That really was a good idea, and it would save them a lot of money since they were staying for two weeks. Hotel’s started to add up quickly after a while.

“We can’t ask you to do that son.”

“You’re not asking,” he laughed. “I’m insisting. Ah,” he exclaimed again. “Fany-ah, your family could stay there too.”

“Taeyeon, I’m sure your parents don’t want to live with my dad and siblings for two weeks.”

“It would be a nice way of getting to know them all,” his mom commented. Which was true, but wait… she was actually considering it? “I think that sounds like a wonderful idea.”

“Seriously?” His mom nodded. “Would your father be okay with it?”

“I don’t see why he wouldn’t want to. I’ll have to ask him next time I talk to him,” I paused to look at the time on my phone. “Which should be soon.”

______________________________________________

I sadly said goodbye to my parents and my little sister, but this time I actually knew when I’d see them again unlike almost every other time I’ve sent them off. It felt great!

“Bye. We’ll see you in two months,” I called out as the four of us now waved them off. I doubt they could hear me, but it felt good to say it. As soon as they were out of eye sight however, I felt Tiffany’s arms wrap around me tightly.

Omo, too tight.

“Fa-Fany-ah. Too tight.” I heard her giggle as her arms loosened.

“Tonight was amazing Taeyeon. Thank you so much.” I kissed the side of her head.

“Well your welcome Tiffany. I’m sorry I couldn’t do more. With my schedule and rec- MMPF!” Her lips crashed into mine.

“Don’t apologize. This kind of thing is even better than an expensive present Taeyeon. I loved it. Seriously.” I smiled and pulled her in to me once again.

I really didn’t get why she was this happy, all we did was eat with my mom and dad.  Seriously, we didn’t do anything but talk and eat… I mean I was happy that she was happy, but still, I wish I could have done more.

“Yeah it was fun Taengo,” Hyoyeon interrupted. “Your sister is a little fireball though isn’t she?” I laughed.

“Oh yeah. I’m sure she drives my parents crazy.” I noticed Seohyun just kind of standing there and immediately felt bad.

She did get kind of dragged into a Kim family situation and I knew I didn’t do a good job at including her. I was too absorbed in the conversation with my parents and Tiffany.

“Sorry for trapping you with us Seohyun. I thought my members would come too,” I laughed. “I didn’t mean for you to be stuck here with us.”

“Aye~ don’t worry about it Taengo, while you two were all over each other I took care of Seohyunie here,” Hyoyeon laughed.

“Yeah, oppa kept me entertained,” she smiled.

“Jinjja?” She hummed. “Whew, well that’s a relief. Thanks hyung.”

“No problem kiddo. I actually have to meet someone right now though, so I’ll leave first.”

“Your girlfriend~,” Tiffany teased. I started to laugh, but I noticed his face drop a little.

“Uh… aniyo. Nicole and I broke up a month ago,” he said calmly. Yikes. “I have to meet Hyomin and a few other label mates.”

“Oh-oh, I’m sorry oppa.”

“Don’t be,” he said with a little more cheer behind his voice. “All things happen for a reason,” he paused. “And I think I’ve recently found my reason.” I nodded, but inside I had no idea what he was talking about. I usually never did tho- oww!

I felt Tiffany’s grip on my waist tighten, but then Hyoyeon spoke up again.

“Well, I’ll see you tomorrow Taeng. I called for a company car, so you all don’t have to wait for me.”

“Are you sure? We can wait,” I suggested.

I hated to leave him here, but he then insisted again that we leave so I had no choice. We waved to him once more as we drove by and then finally were on our way to SNSD’s dorm.

A few minutes later Tiffany the radio. As I sang and danced a bit to 2NE1’s new hit ‘I am the Best’ I couldn’t help but think about Sooyoung and CL. That got me thinking.

Was the reason Sunny didn’t come because she was mad at Soo?

It couldn’t be…

“Did Sunny and Jessica not come because of Soo and CL,” I asked curiously.

“Duh.” “Ne oppa.” What the…

“Wait seriously?”

“Uh yeah, wouldn’t you be pissed if I went out there and did what they did?”

“Well yeah, but-“

“No buts Tae. He shouldn’t have done that… Omo, it’s your song!” She turned the volume dial up and started to sing to our ‘Boy in Luv.’

I guess she was right though, they did take it a bit far, especially since there wasn’t even a warning ahead of time. I had no idea that they were going to do that. Every time they rehearsed it was just them rapping, no touching involved.

“Tae~ you’re not singing!” I laughed and begun in on the lyrics, acting like Yuri or Sooyoung whenever I sang their lines.

The two girls got a kick out of it and Tiffany especially loved when the bridge came and I basically serenaded her. Gah~ her smile was blinding.

“So what is your next song going to sound like,” she asked after the song was over.

“Ah ah ah~,” I voiced. “I’m not letting out any details.”

“Why~? Did you write this one?” I hummed.

“Really?” Tiffany seemed excited now.

“Yep,” I laughed. “And before you even ask, yes. It’s about you.”

“Seriously?” Her voice was even louder this time.

“Yes babe. It’s about you.”

“Wah~! Now I’m even more excited,” she cheered cutely.

About a minute later we sadly arrived in their parking garage. Tiffany whined as I put the car in park.

“I don’t want you to go~.” Her pout was almost unbearable.

“Then let’s stay right here for a while.” Her pout formed in to a smile.

“Unnie, I’m going to go in first. Okay?”

“Oh yeah Seohyunie go ahead. I’ll be right in.”

“Thanks for coming with us Seohyun,” I called out the window. She waved once more before stepping in the first set of doors.

“We’re alone.”

“That we are,” I replied.

“Wanna finally break in your backseat,” she spoke very suggestively all of a sudden. Oh god and that lip bite…

No! We couldn’t!

“Fany-ah you know we can’t do that.” Her irresistible pout returned.

“Why not?” Oh gosh…

“This is exactly where Yuri and Jessica got caught,” I laughed. “This garage is probably their number one photo hunting spot these days.”

“Ani~, SM has been making sure the security here actually did their job these days. Those paparazzi should have never got in here in the first place.”

“Oh really?” She hummed as her fingers began playing with mine. “But still, we can’t babe. I’m sure they have CCTV here, and what if people see us?”

“You promised~,” she whined again. Crap. That I did. “And it’s my birthday… That would be the best present ever.”

Omo! Present!

I totally forgot.

“Fany-ah! I just remembered your present!”

“Wh-what? I thought you said you didn’t get me anything?” I grinned.

“I lied. It’s in the back of the car. Close your eyes.”

“Taeyeon~, I’d still rather have you,” she said as I opened the door. Turning back toward her, I could sense the longing in her eyes.

Don’t get me wrong I wanted her just as much, probably even more really, but I just didn’t want to start something I knew we couldn’t finish. I hated when we had to hurry. I’d rather take my time with her and make sure-

No! Stop thinking about that!

We didn’t even have a place to do that anyway. We could go with her idea and break in the backseat, but we’d still have to drive somewhere. There were too many risks in the garage.

It was also almost 1AM and I was dead tired.

“Baby please not tonight,” I pleaded. “I’d rather have you tonight too, and every other night as a matter of fact.” I took her hand and pressed it to my lips. “Let’s go on a night drive tomorrow instead, okay?”

Her sad eyes looked up to mine.

“Do you promise?” I nodded and stuck out my pinky.

“Of course I promise.” I saw the corners of her lips curl and a wave of relief spread over me.

Wah~ I was so glad she wasn’t mad at me.

Now I would just have to make sure to take plenty of naps tomorrow so I could-

“Taeyeon-ah?”

“Oh, uh… uh huh?”

“Where’s my present?” Oh goodness.

“I thought you said you rather have me,” I teased.

“Yah~ that part of my present is tomorrow. I get this part tonight.” I laughed again as I told her to close her eyes once more.

Moving to the back of my car, I opened up the cake box and quickly lit the candles. Grabbing it and successfully putting the good-sized gift bag in the backseat, I finally made my way to the front seat again.

I told her to open her eyes just before I started singing ‘Happy Birthday’ once more.

The look she was giving me as I finished the tune was seriously priceless.

Her eyes were soft and warm, just as her small smile she was blessing me with right now was. It was a look one could only sum up with one explanation and she did just that.

“I love you so much Kim Taeyeon.” I think my heart momentarily stopped as my cheeks began to hurt from my uncontrollable grin, but I quickly remembered the melting candles in front of my face.

“Fany-ah make a wish!”

“Oh right! Hmm,” she held out cutely. “Ah!” I watched her adorably pull her lips together and give one firm blow, putting out all five candles at once.

I took out one of the still smoking candles and the bottom off.

“Mmm, it’s yummy!”

“Hey, aren’t I supposed to get the first bite?” I chuckled.

“That was technically a babe, but you can have the first bite. I think I have a fork in the glove compartment.” She looked at me weirdly. “What’s that look for?”

“Why do you carry forks in your glove box?”

“Don’t question my fork situation,” I laughed. “They came in handy didn’t they?”

“Yeah I guess so,” she said with an uneasy tone. “What the hell? You have ketchup packets and chopsticks in here too?” I grinned

“Of course. You never know when you’ll need them Fany-ah.”

“Oh my god you are so weird Taeyeon… Remind me again why I’m marrying you?” I was a little taken back by her tone, but once I saw her eye smile, I knew she was just teasing.

“Hmm, that’s a good question,” I teased back. I took the fork from her and unwrapped it from the plastic it was in. “Maybe because I sing well?” She scrunched up her nose and shook her head cutely. “Well then… maybe because I’m funny?”

“That’s definitely not it,” she laughed.

“Why you,” I feigned anger. Her laugh filled the car again. Ah~, this was way better than any music. “Ahh.”

She opened and ate the piece of cake I fed her.

“Mmm, it is yummy,” she grinned. “Ahh~!”

I fed her another bite and then took one for myself. She was right too. This cake was delicious.

“So what’s in the bag,” she asked a few minutes later after the small cake was half devoured.

Omo. I was way too distracted by the sweets.

“It’s the real birthday present.”

“Jinjja?” I hummed. “It looks big.”

“Ehh, it’s a little large,” I laughingly admitted. “But it’s super special.” She hummed unconvinced.

Aish, this girl!

“I’m not kidding! I had to order it special. It’s a one of a kind thing, the only one in the world… probably… maybe? I don’t know,” I laughed.

I wasn’t joking either. I couldn’t find one of these on the internet anywhere. I even had my members and managers who were more tech savvy than I look and they still found nothing.

Gah~ the trouble I go through for her…

“Can I open it?”

“Of course. Let me put the cake back in the box first.” I didn’t want anything to get on her one of a kind gift. She whined a few times in order for me to hurry up and around thirty seconds later the cake was in its box safe and sound.

Now for the gift.

Since the bag was too big to bring into the front seat with her, she just opened it while it sat in the back. She ruffled through the tissue paper and pulled out the card.

Oh god, I thought I put that at the bottom…

“Oooh~,” she voiced. “Do I have to read this now or can I read it later when I miss you?”

Thank goodness.

“Read it later,” I suggested. It would be rather embarrassing for her to read it now.

“Okay, hold,” she ordered and handed the card to me.

As she ruffled through the paper some more, I could only grin. She looked so cute and so excited and very-

“Oh my god,” she uttered in English. “This is… It’s pink… Taeyeon~!” She looked up at me with wide eyes.

“Happy birthday babe. I know it’s not much but- MMPF.” I was silenced by her lips again.

“Shut up Taeyeon. I love it. Ahh~! Where did you even get this? I’ve seriously looked all over for one,” she asked as she pulled the large pink and white Totoro doll out of its bag. I smiled.

“I told you I had to have one specially made.”

“I thought you were joking. Wah~ it’s so cute,” she called out as she squeezed the pink doll. “Omo!” Her head jerked back away from it and turned toward me. “Did you spray your cologne on it?”

Oh crap.

Busted.

“Uh, yeah. When I took it out of its packaging it smelled a bit like the plastic it was wrapped in so I sprayed it… Sorry.”

“Don’t be,” she smiled. “It’s even better now.” She hugged it again. “Looks like I’ve found my new cuddle partner~!”

“Yah~ it’s only a substitute for me.”

“I don’t know Taetae... This one won’t take the covers from me all the time.”

“I’m cuter though!” She looked from me to Totoro and back.

“I don’t know about that either~.”

The writing is consistently great the whole way through and never strays off the plot.I hope someday you will comeback and finish the sequel.
