Minji’s POV

“So, you finally decided to come?” The man in front of me said as I sat down.

I shrugged my shoulders.

“You can’t keep doing this, Minji ah~” He said.

“Yea, yea. Just hand me the prescription.” I said.

“You wouldn’t get well with simply medication.” He sighed.

“I wouldn’t get well with treatment too.” I said.

He looked at me, not saying anything, perhaps because he knows I am right.

“But at least…” He said softly.

“What? It lengthens my life? Come on, both of us know it very well that it is just a matter of time.” I said.

“Don’t say something like that!” He frowned.

“As much as I want to live a long life, I’m fated to a short one.” I smiled.

“How could you be so calm about it?” He asked.

“I freaked out, but it did not improve the situation. Come on, I got to go, be quick.” I said.

“Yah~ You cannot even spare a bit of time to chat with your friend?” He asked.

“There’s a line of female patients outside waiting to chat with you.” I laughed.

“You seem happier thou. What’s up lately?” He asked.

“Nothing in particular.” I said.

“Tell me!” He shook my arm like a kid.

Well, he is not that old after all.

“Next time.” I laughed, taking the prescription from him.

“Promise huh!” He said.

I nodded, heading for the door.

“Minji ah~” He called out.

“Yea?” I turned to look at him.

“Don’t give up, okay? I’m looking around for you. You’re on the top of the list.” He said.

“Honestly speaking, just take me off the damn list. Give up my position to someone who is more worthy of a life.” I said.

“Minji…” He looked sad.

“I understand your intentions, but… I’m not worth it. I mean… Never mind.” I shook my head.

“You’re not even trying!” He said in a strained voice.

“I am.” I said.

“How?” He asked.

“I’m trying hard to live a full life with the short one I am given. Can’t you tell?” I asked.

“This is not the way.” He muttered.

“This is the only way.” I said, walking out.

I headed over to the counter and handed the nurse my prescription.

“How much is it?” I asked.

“It’s been paid for.” She smiled.

“Damn it.” I mumbled under my breath.

“Thanks.” I said, taking the white plastic bag from her.

‘Stop paying! I can afford it! If you do it again, you’ll never see me anymore.’; I texted.

‘Nawww~ You’ll not bear to not see me XD Eat well!’; He replied.

I laughed at his reply. Did he just tell me to eat my medication well? Is he mad?

I headed to where my motorbike was parked. I rode back home, dumped my stuff aside, got changed and collected my stuff. I took out my phone and stared at it, debating whether I should text or not. In the end, I did it.

‘Are you free? (_ _)ヾ(‘ロ‘) ’; I texted Seungho.

His reply came in faster than I thought.

‘Yeap! Food? Nom nom~ ^^’ He replied.

I laughed out. He absolutely does not look like someone who would text like that. I think it would be more interesting seeing him do it live.

‘No nom nom~ Sorry ﾍ(･_|But, would you like to go somewhere with me?’ I replied.

‘No nom nom!? (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻ Okay, we’ll go, but do I get nom nom after that?’ He replied.

‘If you’re a good boy <(￣︶￣)>’ I replied.

‘I’ll put on my best behaviour! (#^.^#)’ He replied.

‘You do anything for food, don’t you?’ I replied.

‘Of course! Anything for nom nom!!  ლ(´ڡ`ლ)’ He replied.

‘Ha! Are you in your company or dorm? I’ll pick you up.’ I replied.

‘Pick me? How are you coming?’ He replied.

‘Oh, on my flying carpet（＾＿－）≡★’ I replied.

‘(;° ロ°) Is it safe?’ He replied.

‘So far… I didn’t die.’ I replied.

‘Alright~ I trust you. I’m in the company. I’ll go get the rooftop ready for you to land!’ He replied.

‘Okay! I’ll text you when I’m reaching.’ I replied.

‘NO NO! Don’t text! Focus on flying!’ He replied.

‘Alright then. Forget the rooftop, just open your window, I’ll fly straight in.’ I replied.

‘No problem! Windows opened, awaiting your arrival! p(*＾-＾*)q’ He replied.

I could not stop laughing as I made my way down to my bike. I searched for directions to his company before stepping heading out.
