C69: Broomstick

I Remember You

Jin Young POV:

“Tell me why I shouldn’t hit you with this broom for making my daughter cry” I heard Soo Omma's threat the moment I opened their door.

“I didn’t mean to–”

Raising her voice at me “I’m sure you didn’t mean to use profanities at my daughter as well!” she waved the broomstick around menacingly.

This was the scariest I have seen her mother.

“I’m sorry, I made a mistake. I’m here to apologise!” I raised my hands in surrender.

“I’m also a victim here, how do you think I felt when I find out from someone else that your daughter is leaving! That I had lost so much time and opportunity to spend time with her!” I said back trying to reason with Soo Omma.

Letting the broom down, she gave me a warning glare “Jin Kyung is in her room” she said gruffly before walking into the kitchen.

-

Pounding at the door with my only good hand. When I totally had no response on the other side of the door, I used the key that I kept since the last similar scenario happened to open the locked door.

I took it with me when I left my room but I never thought that it would really be needed.

Walking through her door, I was first hit in the head with a pillow, followed by a stuff toy since my vision was blocked.

“Get out! Jin Young! I don’t want to see you!” Jin Kyung shouted, throwing a textbook at me.

I managed to step back and let it hit my leg. Turning round to lock the door behind me, looked back to see something big and bulky flying my way.

Ducking just in time, I looked at the ground to see Jin Kyung had thrown a dictionary!

“Yah! That could have caused a serious injury!”

“I don’t care!! Jung Jin Young you are not allowed in my room! Get out!” Jin Kyung yelled as she wrapped herself in multiple blankets on her bed.

Climbing onto her bed, I slowly pried the blankets away, struggling with the last one that she clung to.

“Let go!” Jin Kyung cried, pulling on it like her life depended on it.

When I successfully pulled the last one away, she covered her eyes by putting her arm horizontally over them. I could see the tears that flowed down the side of her face.

“I’m sorry...” I said, starting on my apology as I held her free hand.

“I’m sorry for scaring you just now, I’m sorry for yelling at you, I was hurt that I had to find out from someone else Jin Kyung. I really didn’t mean to hurt you in any way; I didn’t mean to make you cry”

Her cries becoming quieter, I held the arm that covered her face and gently brought it away from her face.

Struggling a little, I pinned her hands lightly by the sides.

“No…” she cried faintly, resisting my hold.

“I’m sorry for scaring you” I said again, whispering it gently into her ear.

Shaking her head “Let go of me” she breathed, her voice shaky and her eyes glossy.

Soo omma calling us down for dinner, I had no other choice but to let go of her and unlocked her bedroom door.

Heading down for dinner first, Jin Kyung appeared a few moments later.

It was the first time that the atmosphere at the dining table was so tense. It was silent except for the sounds of chopsticks and spoons clinking against the bowls and plates.

Jin Kyung leaving the table first, barely touching her food. I looked at her worriedly as she went up the stairs to her bedroom.

“I’ll side aside some for her in case she gets hungry later” Soo Omma said as we finish our plates. “I’ll clear the dining table, you go talk to her” she continued flatly.

“I’m sorry and thank you Soo Omma” I bowed slightly and went up the stairs.

The mess gone when I went back to her room, Jin Kyung lay in her bed, wrapped up in her blankets with her back facing the door.

With nothing else to do I rested beside her and figured that it didn’t matter that I didn’t have a blanket. As long as she wasn’t pushing me away…

-

Waking up the next day with a blanket covering me.

It was a different one than she was using but it meant that she wasn’t entirely mad at me right?

Seeing her sleeping form, I felt bad that I was the reason for her swollen eyes.

Lightly tracing them, I wondered how long she would be upset with me.

Her eyebrows scrunching together, Jin Kyung blinked a few times. Spotting me in the bed with her, she distanced herself until she hit the wall with her back.

Sighing “Please don’t be mad at me, I-I was just so upset yesterday…nothing went the way I planned."

I gazed into her eyes but Jin Kyung avoided me "I intended to bring you out and celebrate our last exam and tell you something really important..."

Pausing there for a little while, I saw that I had gained a glimmer of her attention.

"I wanted to tell you that the guys and I would be debuting in the coming April." I continued on saying as she was finally looking at me again

My breath constricting in my own chest as I said the line that brought me so much joy and pain "I wanted to tell you that I’m one step closer to reaching my dream…"

Hanging my head in shame "I...I had grew so focused on myself I became selfish and forgot about your dreams."

Saying everything that I thought about when I finally managed to calm down.

"I shouldn’t have done that but I did and I guess I’m saying that as much as I hate that you need to go to America…" I said looking into Jin Kyung's eyes. I was glad that she looking at me.

That our eyes met and I took a deep breath, saying the words that tore me up on the inside.

"I’m alright with you going."

Annyeong dear readers :)

I'm not sure about you guys but I feel kinda excited that this story is about to end. And it's the main reason that I'm releasing so many chapters today XD

Sure, a part of me is sad when this is over but I'll always be happy for what this story had brought me.

This is my first fanfic that I've tried to write and I'm glad that someone out there has smiled, laughed or cried to my writing.

It has become my brainchild and I'll always smile when I think of this story.

I'm really thankful for your support.

Sincerely,

Violynn (05/03/2013 ; 8:08 PM)
