C68: Shin Woo

Jin Young POV
“You could chase your dream why can’t I take the chance to chase mine!” Jin Kyung raised her voice even though it wavered.
Stunned by her last few sentences, I froze in shock as I stared into her eyes that were red and had tears flowing down continuously.
Shoving me away with all her strength, I stumbled backwards and watched her run down the street. Eventually disappearing round the corner.
Slumping against the wall, her last few sentences rang in my head.
*Didn’t I encourage her to chase her dream? Didn’t I sing to Jin Kyung that I’d help her to make her dream come true?*
Guilt mixed with anger and I don’t know that to do anymore…
Couldn’t she have chosen a local university?
Why the hell does it have to be America?!

Jin Kyung’s POV
I ran.
I didn’t know where I was going but I ran as fast and as far my legs could bring me.
It didn’t matter that cars honked at me as I ran past small neighborhood traffic lights.
Bumping into someone, I stumbled backwards and fell hard on the ground.
“Jin Kyung?” I heard a familiar voice say my name.
Hastily wiping my tears away, I blinked to see that I had bumped into Shin Woo.
“I-I’m so-sorry” I stuttered, my breath shaky from the running.
“It’s alright” He said, offering a hand to help me up.
Taking it, I got to my feet and stood awkwardly. Not knowing what to say to Jin Young’s best friend.
“What happened?” He looked at me with concern.
Swallowing and trying hard not to cry again “Jin Young and I quarrelled…” I answered simply.
“What was it about?” He asked in a calmly manner that I wasn't expecting.
“He found out that I signed a contract with a company that sponsored me to further my studies in America” I braced myself for another outburst, thinking that he would side with Jin Young.
Finding no reaction, I looked to him and saw that he had a pensive expression as he watched the sky.
“Why aren’t you mad like Jin Young?” I asked him warily.
“Am I Jin Young?” He asked back.
“No you’re not…”
“Am I like him?” He continued asking
Unsure of where this was going. “No…you’re very different from him” I answered Shin Woo anyway.
“Then I not mad” He answered simply “I am slightly pissed about it but it’s not in my place to be angry. Jin Young is the one with the broken promise not me”
“Thank you…” I murmured. I wasn’t sure if I could handle another person being angry at me.
“I’ll send you back” He said, hailing a cab.
Getting one a few minutes later, I didn’t refuse getting on because I didn’t want any more people seeing me right now. Eyes swollen and I’m sure I have a dishevelled appearance from all the running.
Going dutch on the cab fare, Shin Woo stared at my home after we alighted.
“Wow, you stay really near to Jin Young’s place.” He whistled.
“I know…”
“Well you can go in now; I think you’d want to talk to your omma about what happened.” He said continuing to stare at my home.
“Ah. Right…Thanks for accompanying me back” I said as I awkwardly walked sideways, half watching him and half watching where I was going.
As I closed the gate behind me, I took one last glance at him and saw that oddly enough, he was still looking at my home...

Jin Young POV
Getting home and heading up to my bedroom, I yelled in shock when I saw Shin Woo seated at the office chair by the study table.
I was not expecting him to be there.
“You made Jin Kyung cry” He said in a matter-of-fact tone.
“How did you know that?”
“She wasn’t watching where she was running and bumped into me after running across red traffic light.” Shin Woo said flatly. “She’s lucky she didn’t get run over”
Keeping silent, I set my bag on the floor and rummaged around my room for the first aid kit.
“It’s here” Shin Woo held the white box up.
Curse him for knowing my room so well.
“You wrote ‘no tears in your dream’ and the line you let me sing was ‘don’t cry again’” He placed the box on the table and folded his arms.
Swearing mentally for his good memory, while I took out the bandages and antiseptic cream. I was at a loss of words to say as he used my song against me.
“Care to explain to me what happened?” He gave me a flat look.
Gritting my teeth as I applied the antiseptic cream, tending to the injury that I inflicted on myself.
“I lost it” was all I could manage.
“Obviously, if you had control we wouldn’t be in this spot now would we?” He rolled his eyes.
“She broke her promise alright?” I sent him a glare for his smart mouthing.
Pushing his specs back up the bridge of his nose. “Yeah, tell me something I don’t know”
“She had signed the contract months ago and was probably going to tell me that she’s leaving in the same manner she did years ago.” I gripped on the bandages not in anger but this time in sadness.
Finishing up in giving myself first aid treatment. “If she had told me earlier I could have spent more time with her…” I tried to think of other ways that it could have been handled.
“And spent less time training?” Shin Woo interrupted me. “I doubt that’s what she wants for you Jin Young. It’s because we had trained as hard as we did that the company selected us to debut this coming April”
“I know but I just wished she told me” I ran my good hand through my hair in frustration.
“Did you tell her the news that we were going to debut soon?”
“I was planning to tell her today on our date but after hearing that she was going to America, I forgot about it entirely.
“What are you going to do next?” Shin Woo ask.
“I’m going to talk to her later. It's something I can't avoid...I don't want us to end, I don't want things to end here."
I am so sorry guys!
I just realised that I had a mix up on the chapters and the actual Chapter 66 is up now.
"When?" Was supposed to be chapter 67 >.< I'm really sorry about that :x
