Getting on the bus, seeing it head off in a different direction made me think.*She lives in a different place from my Jin Kyung…Is it possible that it’s still her?* I thought to myself as we sat in silence.

Suddenly, an ear piece appeared in front of me. “You want to listen to some music?” She asked softly. “It’s going to take about half an hour to get where I’m going”

Taking it from her hand, she looked surprised for a brief moment before she pressed play on her phone. “Sorry if’s all western music, it’s what I’ve been listening to for the last four years when I was overseas…” she apologised. *How does someone look so cute apologising?* I wondered.

Shaking my head “its okay” I answered. “But I didn’t peg you as the type to listen to Wiz Khalifa though” I chuckled as the beats for ‘Till I’m gone’ came on.

Blushing “What? I can’t listen to hip hop?” she brushed her hair behind her ear, revealing a very familiar earring.

*Is it my imagination?* I wondered…what are the chances of her having the same earring?

Shaking that thought out of my head, *there are lots of different kinds of earrings nowadays, I shouldn’t be surprised to see something similar…* I convinced myself.

“Jin Kyung…” I asked her when I saw her melancholic expression as she looked out the window.

“Yeah?” she answered turning to face me.

“Can I ask what injury were you recovering from?” I asked softly, worried that I might have asked about something sensitive.

Sighing “I was recovering from a fractured wrist” she answered after a short pause.

“How did that happen?”

“I fell down the stairs” she said, giving a sad smile. “It complicated the fracture and affected a few nerves…” she trailed off.

“How was living overseas?” I asked trying to change the topic.

“It was hard living so far away from friends” she answered.

“But you made friends there right?” I said, trying to cheer her up. I mean spending four years there; she’s bound to make a few friends.

“Yeah, I did” She finally smiled.

“I finally got you to smile” I said happily. Registering my words, Jin Kyung blushed.

“We’re getting off the bus soon” she said, yanking the wire causing the earpiece to fall out.

“You’re almost as red as the scarf Jin Kyung” I teased.

Getting to her feet “Come on, the next stop is where we get off.”

Holding onto the railing as I got to my feet the bus jerked to a stop.

“Ah!” I heard Jin Kyung cry out.

Turning around I felt her crash into me. “I’m so sorry” She apologised profusely as held her steady.

“Come on” I held her hand leading her out. If we stood there any longer the bus doors would have closed on us.

Watching the bus leave, for once I was glad for its loud engine as it roared away. My heart was pounding from just now when Jin Kyung accidentally fell on me.

“Come on” Jin Kyung said leading the way, somehow not turning around to face me.

Walking closer, I saw that the tips of her ears were red. *Aww, she’s embarrassed* I cooed in my mind. Knowing that if I said that out loud, Jin Kyung might just ignore me until who knows when.

Walking up to an apartment building “Well, this is it” she said. Handing her back her bag, I smiled saying “See you in school tomorrow” waving goodbye as I thought about how to navigate my way back.
