CHAPTER 56

 After the Christmas break, they get back to normal.

A sunny day…


GD went to YG again for practices for his performance in Inkigayo on the last week of December and for their Big Show Concert 2010 on January.

It’s a hectic schedule for him but since he got some rest for many days, he is now obliged to do something else again. Aw. What a hard working leader!

He went straight to the recording studio to check every song that they’re going to perform on their upcoming concert. The members of Big Bang are not yet there in YG as of now, so he’s still working on it only by himself.
As he entered the recording studio, he saw Teddy and Kush.

Kush said “Yo~ GD! How are you?”
“I’m fine. Why?”
“Did you get over it already?”
GD sensed that Kush was talking about the issue.
Teddy said “We got worried about the certain situation right now.”
Kush said “So we’re glad that you’re fine with that.”
He said “Honestly, I’ve been thinking of that the whole week while I’m on rest and to be exact, I can’t sleep properly because of that.” –aww.
Kush said “Yes. It might not be too easy for you to forget and recover that fast about it. We know that in your condition, it is not possible to be just fine.”
GD said “Since that issue started… I don’t know, it just feels like everything changes.”
“First of all man, sorry about starting this topic but I really think that we should talk about this earlier.” –Kush said.
“It’s okay man.” –GD said.
“It was a mind bugging issue for all of us, right? The feedbacks are all unexpected.” –Kush said.
Teddy said “We also checked the internet GD. They got some point too. It’s a little bit offensive at first sight.”


[NOTE: The ‘Breathe’(his song) performance’s issue from the concert gains a lot of people’s and netizens’ (net citizens) attention because of the scene wherein a bed is placed on the stage with a girl tied on it and GD came to lie above the girl and (as what they’ve said) he did ing from it which is an obscenity for some of the young audiences. And when the bed turns upside down, GD expressed an aggressive possession towards the girl in a seductive way but that was all just an expression for the song, it is really not what he proposed to do. People act differently that from what he has in mind that they would and they even misinterpreted it as demonstration. He also performed a scene from ‘She’s Gone’ in which it is misconstrued again as violence on the other side also the ‘Korean Dream’ for the foul words spoken from the song and the wrong message delivered. The administration said that he should have set an age limit for his concert, for he should have set it to audiences because there’s a lot of kids or teenagers who idolize him so it won’t be good if they saw their idol do those things. In other piece, they thought that it is not a good influence for everyone so in short, they said that his Breathe performance and others was not advisable for everyone to watch that time.]


Kush said “But GD didn’t intend to do that too.”

GD said “I’m a mainstream singer and I think it’s right that I have to follow the public’s standards. Even if it wasn’t my intention, if it was a bit over the top and people found it offensive, it’s my fault. I just wanted to leave a strong impression on my fans because it was a concert performance not a publicly televised music show. It’s sad and disappointing that the reactions were different to what I intended.”
-Aww.
Teddy said “Yes, that’s hard to anyone who’ll be in your situation right now, I understand you man, especially because it’s your first concert.”

He said “It seems like this solo concert was the thing I was running towards all this time. It might be because I’m young, but after my first concert I thought ‘I have no regrets’. But I went on the internet the very next day and only the ‘suggestive’ bits had been magnified. I was crushed.” –he said it with pain in his eyes.

Kush said “Go on. Let it out. Tell us everything you feel.”

So then GD continued…
“I wondered ‘Am I destined to be bashed no matter what I do?’, and forced laughter came out rather than tears. I didn’t want it to turn out like this. I just wanted to show a variety of different images of me to my audience. I showed a lot of different images at the concert, I showed cuteness, liveliness, stylishness.. Why would they exaggerate that one part? The titles of the articles by the media were all so severe. I was upset and ashamed that my parents might see them.” –aww. =(

Teddy said “That is bad, we also saw them. But we couldn’t make a move from that because it’s either we’ll be found guilty against it. It’s not that we’re afraid to do that but it’s because of you that we’re protecting here. You have to acknowledge that only people who don’t know you very well can judge you as severe as they can. I agree to you man, I actually felt that too when I first heard of the issue, I thought ‘Just because of that?’ and I wonder what might be Jiyong’s reaction with all of these?”

GD said “I was thoughtless. But regardless of that, I wish people wouldn’t judge by one small fragment of the whole picture. The song ‘Breathe’ is about not wanting to wake up because the woman of your dreams keeps appearing. It’s about dreaming, and I was trying to express getting lost in my dreams. That’s why the bed was there, but in the end what the public saw was a ‘ demonstration’. I was embarrassed and confused; that was when I finally thought ‘This isn’t me, but I see now that it looked that way to the people.’”

Kush said “It’s hard to live with all the people’s eye on you, right? They might not get the concept because of their young minds but I’m pretty sure that a lot understood it for they were at the right age or because they were a fan of yours. It’s remarkable to know that you’re not doing anything with the issue because I think if it’s filed on someone else, I think he would be over reacting and panicking because of it.”

GD slightly smiled and became serious again. He said…
“I hope someday they won’t judge a decade of precious passion and effort of an artist based on a single screen cap.”

Teddy said “That’s right man. Maybe next time, you should be more cautious with these things for in every move you make, once you have the spotlight, there’s a bad side and there’s a good one. It depends on the people’s eye to criticize what they think of it.”

Kush said “It must have been a lesson learned from you.”

He said “Whether I’m being criticised or complimented, in the end I think they’re still giving me their interest and attention. I have to humbly accept it when people point out my faults because it’ll help me improve myself.”

Teddy said “Sh** man! that was cool.”
Kush said “Yeaah~ that’s G-Dragon, you’re G-Dragon! What more can I say? Aissh! Why are there men like you who have that kind of spirit even if he’s in the worst situation!? You’re really an icon!” –Haha!
GD laughed from their reactions and said “It’s because in this big world that I’m standing in, small minds won’t fit so I have to practice having it while I’m at the center.” –Whoa!
Teddy said “Yes man, that’s right! That’s what you need. So now… get back to work and help us here, alright?” –LOL!
He was like “Okay. This is enough, let’s get back to work!” –Hahaha!
GD laughed and sat down. He helped as expected.
While they’re working on the songs, YG visited them in the recording studio and checks what they are doing.

YG said “What’s up in here?”
They all looked at him.
Teddy said “We’re arranging the songs that Big Bang will be using for their concert.”
YG walked near to GD and said “Ya. Jiyong-ah, how do you do?”
GD smiled and said “I’m doing fine, hyung.”

---Silence in the studio---

YG said “You can keep up above the issues, right?”
“Ne…”
“I hope this will not be a reason for you to give up your dreams.”
“I won’t… I’ll never do that.”
“I’ll help you with this case, so while you’re being investigated, just stay calm.”
“I am calm.”
“I know your mind is not. It is just the consequence of what you did, you’re wrong, they’re wrong; everything pays off on the same way. If you fail to prove them wrong and they won, if you’re sentenced to stay in jail for 1 year and pay for $5,000 fine, we cannot do something about it for it was from the legal action and we have to take full responsibility upon it. But we will try everything that we can to get you off the hook, alright?”
“Ne… I owe an apology to you.” –he talked while bowing his head. It must be a shame for him knowing that their company’s name has been mentioned again for a bad issue that he made in the industry.
“That’s okay. You’re under investigation so don’t act any defensive act if you don’t want to go to prison.” –aw!
“I….. feel really humiliated to my family, to everyone…”
“Jiyong, listen to me carefully…I believe in you. I know you can pass this step, huh?” –Aww =)
“Kamsahamnida(Thank you) hyung.”
“Go and continue what you’re doing. I’ll go.”
“Ne…”
Then he went out from the room.

Kush said “Why didn’t he even talk to me like that since then? I just hear it lately, honestly. He never speaks any encouragement to me in that way before! I mean, ever since. Why to you?! That’s unfair!”
GD and Teddy laughed.

Teddy said “YG is kind when he is burdened, maybe?”
GD said “Aissh! You’re making me feel even worse!” –LOL! He said it with a funny expression which sounds and looks funny to them.
And the room was now filled with laughter.

Later on, G-Dragon proceeds to the rehearsal room when Big Bang arrives already.
While he’s walking to the corridor on the way to the rehearsal room, he thinks of another thought, another problem and yes, it’s about his own feelings about love.
He remembered Dara for 2NE1 will be there and there are a lot of possibilities that they can see each other again.
As he thought of her, his face suddenly turned out lonely.
But he’s smiling as he entered the room, like nothing happened. Aw =(
He’s having a hard time for having both situations complicated for him.


On the rehearsal room…

They are now all bonding with each other and GD became happy too as he got along with them. 2NE1 and other YG artist are there to cheer them up and motivate them to keep on practicing.. really a family, right? :)
Yanggaeng was talking with CL.. TOP was talking to Daesung.. YB was beside Bom.. Minzy was beside Dara.. GD is goofing around with Seungri on the other side. Haha! The tom & jerry! They are both laughing..

GD was laughing on the outside…. But we all know, that there is something inside him.. more than the happy Jiyong that they’re seeing now.. They all can’t help themselves but to laugh with them two, because of their contagious laughs and ludicrous gags.. Haha. Dara was staring at GD while smiling… but she thought..

“There’s something really different about him when he laughs now… Something strange… it’s unlike before….. I can’t figure it out exactly but… I think….. there is ………… sadness..”

She’s still staring at him while smiling.. GD noticed her looking at him so he looked at her too.. he’s still smiling…. Dara quickly removes her stare at him and looked far away from him.. GD was like “Tsh.. that was a stupid move..” –Haha! Somehow, I agree! LOL. He already caught her looking at him, that’s why! And then he looked at her too.. staring at her silly moves which is indeed cute for him.. Haha so while Dara was nervously anxious and pretending that he was not seeing GD looking at him..

GD thought “…You must be happy, Youngbae loves you now.” –so then, he looked away.. Aw. Why?!

Until he stood up and said “Aissh.. Seungri-ah, I’ll get back to you later. I’ll just go to the comfort room!”
“Well you better be fast! Don’t keep me waiting..” –Seungri said.
“I’ll do it to the slowest that I can then.” –LOL!
“You’re always the slowest! You take a bath slow, you wake up late! Is there anything fast that you can do?” –haha. He’s insulting him.
“I rap.” –GD said. Hahaha!
Big Bang laughed on that.
“Aside from that?... nothing else?” –Haha!
“Why do you keep on insulting me? You’ll never be me. Don’t try too hard. You’ll never get into my level Seungri-ah.. so stop it, don’t waste your time~” –Hahaha! Nice!
“What do you mean that I’m trying to be in----” –he’s not yet done talking when GD said “Bye.” and walked out from the room! Hahaha! Poor Seungri, ignored again. LOL.

So GD’s out of the rehearsal room.

Later on…..


Some are practicing the dance, some are talking, some are laughing and many other more. While everybody’s having their own businesses inside the room…
Dara’s phone rings... so she went out of the room first and decided to walk away and answer the phone for privacy.. But as she went out.. The ringing stopped. She said “Aigoo~ why does it have to be now? I was about to answer it, then-- Aish..”
She looked at her phone to see who missed a call to her… and it was an anonymous number.. Dara thought “Maybe.. that person dialled a wrong number..”
Then GD who exactly went out from the comfort room, saw Dara standing along the corridor.. Dara also saw him. They were both stunned and their eyes met.. Waa! Could it be destined for them to meet right now and talk? First of all, the phone call that Dara received gave her the reason to go out and see GD! Kyaaah! D-E-S-T-I-N-Y!~

GD said “What the heck are you doing here outside? You scared me!” –hahaha!
“I received a phone call.. that’s why.”
GD was just staring at her, raised his eyebrow and waiting for something.. His look seems to mean like “Then where was the phone call that you’re talking about?” Haha. So Dara knew it from his look.
“Aniyo~ it was a missed call.. I don’t know who that person is either. Maybe he/she dialled a wrong number and decided to cut the line before I answered it.”
“Really? Or is it just you want to tag along with me up till the comfort room?” –he said it nastily.
“Ya!! Please be aware of what you’re saying! You’re freaking me out! >.<”
GD smiled and said “Then what? … You’re waiting for me to go out so that you can talk to me like this?”
She murmured “Aissh.. How come I’m stuck with such an arrogant man here~”
“Haha. You’ll get used to it! (he jumbled her hair and walks away)”
Dara looked back and said “Ya!!”
GD stopped and looked back at her..
Dara said “Ah----- I.. just---”
“What?”
“...wanted to ask if you’re okay now?”
“Why? Shouldn’t I?” –LOL!
“No! I mean… the concert issue.”
“I will never forget that one, but if you keep on asking me about it… then my answer would be …no, I’m not okay.” –Hahaha!
Dara smiled and said “I get it. I won’t let you remember that one again.”
GD said “Let’s just go back to practicing. You’ll perform too with 2NE1 and us on the 30th of December, right?”
“Ne! ^ ^”
“Then let’s go…” –he walked and entered the room already.
Dara was left alone on the hall.

She thought “Jiyong can be so moody. Sometimes he’s caring and very sweet and sometimes… he’s just so serious.”

After it, she entered the room too and rehearses with the girls together with Taeyang and G-Dragon. GD acts very unapproachable in front of Dara. The rehearsal of their performance was done with GD being so distant to her. Why GD? ...Because Taeyang is there? =(
The rehearsal of 2NE1 was done already so they are allowed to go home.
They are going out of the room but Dara looks like she still doesn’t want to go out. She thought “We didn’t even talk properly! I want to comfort him!” –Awww.
But since the girls are headed out already, she had no choice but to follow them.
