While Luhan was keeping the first-aid kit, Jieun went to Baekhyun’s room, his room reeked of alcohol smell, she went closer and sighed, “Why did you drink so much?” Jieun went out and signaled Luhan to come over, “Can you help me to change for him?” Jieun asked with her puppy eyes which makes Luhan hard to say no. He nodded; Jieun went to get Luhan a fresh set of clothes to change for Baekhyun.

‘You still care about him even though you said that he is irresponsible…’

Luhan and Jieun sat at the sofa, it’s already two in the morning, “If you are tired, sleep on the sofa first,” Luhan said to Jieun who is yawning. Jieun nodded and went to sleep while Luhan looked on; he smiles at how angelic she looked when she sleeps. Slowly, Luhan dozed off too.

Jieun woke up a few hours later, she sat up and saw Luhan sleeping on the sofa, she looked at her watch and thought, ‘I have to get off before Baekhyun wakes up.’ She walked to Baekhyun’s room and heard him mumbling, “Jieun… Jieun… Please don’t leave me…” She closed the door and leaned against the door, she her tummy and mumbled, “Baby, is mommy cruel?” Her tears threatening to flow down, she looked at Luhan and said softly, “Don’t ever do such silly things that might hurt you anymore, my best friend!” She then took her bag and takes a cab back to Daegu.

*Ding Dong*

Key went to open the door with sleepy eyes, but he immediately woke up upon seeing Jieun infront of him with a smile, “Good morning! Mind having breakfast with me?” Jieun said, her smile never disappear.

Key nodded, “But I need to wash up first, come in and wait for me,” he said covering his mouth while Jieun giggled, “You are really a fashionista indeed, what you wore to sleep is really different from what the people usually wear.”

Half an hour later, Key came out after bathing and saw Jieun sleeping on the sofa, he smiled and went to the kitchen to see what he had; he put on the apron and started cooking occasionally stealing a quick peek at Jieun. Jieun woke up naturally and saw Key setting up the dining table, she walked towards him and pouted, “Oppa, why didn’t you wake me up?” Jieun asked, her eyes glistening when she saw the delicious food on the table, her stomach started rumbling and groaning, “Opps, someone is hungry,” Key teased while Jieun smiled sheepishly. Key ruffled her hair and said, “Sit down and start eating.”

Baekhyun woke up with a serious hangover, “Argh.” He muttered as he knocked on his head repeatly hoping that the hangover will go away, he walked out of his room and saw Luhan sleeping on the sofa. He walked towards him and tapped him gently on the shoulder, “What happened yesterday? Why are you here?”

Luhan woke up and rubbed his eyes, “You got yourself so drunk that you are slumped on the street, idiot.” He muttered as he stood up and started stretching himself. Baekhyun tilted his head and started thinking but he couldn’t remember anything. “Now that you are awake, I can go home now,” Luhan said as he gets ready to leave. “Wait…” Baekhyun shouted, Luhan turned and tilted his head, “Thank you for bringing me home and taking care of me the whole night,” Baekhyun said avoiding eye-contact with Luhan, it felt weird for him to say this to Luhan even though they are friends and are like brothers. “No problem, just don’t drink too much next time,” Luhan replied with a smile, he then waved Baekhyun goodbye and that’s when Baekhyun saw his hands bandaged, “What happened to your hand?” Baekhyun asked. Luhan looked at his hands and replied with a laugh, “Nothing much, I hurt myself by accident, rest well. I’ll see you soon.”

‘Even though what he did to Jieun is too much, but after all, he is still my friend, my brother.’

Luhan smiled at his thought as he flagged down an empty cab and head back home.

It’s been a month since Jieun last met Luhan and Baekhyun, Luhan still frequently contact with Jieun but Baekhyun had stopped contacting Jieun ever since that day. Jieun did long to hear Baekhyun’s voice but she never once asked Luhan about Baekhyun. It’s her forth month into the pregnancy and her bump is getting bigger. Jieun talked with the baby in her stomach every night, her parents had not visited her ever since they left her in Daegu. She let out a sigh as she lay down on her bed, once she closed her eyes, images of her parents started surfacing. She tried hard not to cry and slowly went into her dreamland.

“Hello, Miss Lee, you came alone again?” Her doctor-in-charge asked when Jieun came in alone. Her doctor did a check on her and asked, “How’s your morning sickness?” Her doctor, Dr Park asked. Jieun gave her a smile and answered, “It’s better now.” Dr Park rubbed a jelly-like substance on Jieun’s stomach and said, “We will be able to know your baby’s gender soon.” Jieun became anxious upon hearing it, “Hmm, your baby is closing the leg and I can’t see it.” Dr Park frowned and said, Jieun pouted too but a miracle happened, “Hold on, the baby is coming the leg, congratulations Miss Lee, your baby is a boy.” Jieun beamed with happiness, “It’s a boy! My baby is a boy.” Jieun mumbled and started shedding tears of joy. Dr Park handed the scan of the baby to Jieun and instructed Jieun to take more supplements.

‘I must tell Luhan this good news!’

The first thing after Jieun left the room is to call Luhan who is with his group of brothers including Baekhyun. “Luhan! Where are you?” Jieun asked excitedly. “Ji-,“ Luhan blurted out as everyone looked at him, “Jaehyo-ah, I’m with my group of friends now, why?” Jieun heard what he said and knew that he is with his group of brothers, “I’m in Seoul now, meet you at XXX restaurant at 6pm tonight.” Jieun said before ending the call. “I thought Jieun called,” Sehun pouted when he heard that it was Jaehyo. Baekhyun looked at Luhan but shrugged it off that Jieun would contact Luhan.

Luhan left the group first, followed by Baekhyun, he followed Luhan, he stopped his car a distance away and saw Luhan entering XXX restaurant, he looked inside and his eyes widen, it was Jieun waving at him.

‘It’s Jieun who called Luhan indeed…’

Baekhyun couldn’t believe what he saw, he stared blankly at his steering wheel before driving off, and he was in a state of shock. Jieun still contact Luhan… He was her ex-boyfriend, but she didn’t contact him but Luhan.

After dinner, Jieun took a cab home, after telling Luhan the good news, the next person in her mind was Key. “Miss Lee, wait a minute,” the guards called out when they saw Jieun walking in. Jieun smiled and greeted them, the guard passed Jieun a necklace, “Your friend dropped this outside the building and I happened to saw it, I had wanted to pass this to you but it’s either you are not in or I’m not on duty.” Jieun recognized the necklace immediately; she looked at the guard and thanked him. It was the necklace that she told Baekhyun that she liked it a lot when they are still together.

When she’s home, she called Baekhyun’s phone, the line went through and Baekhyun picked it up, there was a long silence before Baekhyun said, “Are you not going to speak?” His voice that have never changed, his voice that she long to hear, tears gushed out naturally as she looked at the necklace, Baekhyun could hear her sniffing sound, “Are-,” before Baekhyun could finish his sentence, Jieun ended the call.
