We all got onto stage for Alpha’s final stage and since the fans don’t know that all of EXO-M are here, I am going to expect a lot of screaming. We got into our places and Jenny reached up to put her hand on my shoulder. It was pitch black and the only thing that told us of our position was this very subtle glow in the dark “T”.

“You did some good MC-ing today.”

“Umm… thank you?”

“I heard from Xiumin that you were practising a lot,” Jenny smiled at me.

Seriously? First Lay and now Xiumin. I was aiming for a cool image where I practise very little and yet I can still dance very well. I was only practising with Tao because Fiona wasn’t able to learn the routine fast enough with her promotions.

“Did you practise?”

Jenny shrugged nonchalantly, “Maybe.”

I chuckled as I put my hand out. Jenny grabbed my hand and placed it on her waist and waited for the lights to turn on.

The music started and the spotlight shone on both of us, cueing for the start of our dance.

As we were dancing, the others joined the stage and, Jenny and I moved off to the side and watched for the other couples dance. I took in a deep breath as we got into place in preparation for the really complicated dance move.

“You can do this!” I heard Jenny’s voice but when I turned around, it seemed as if it wasn’t happening. Maybe I’m imagining things; no sleep does that to a person…

The fans deafening scream and cheering definitely meant that we all pulled it off pretty well. Phew…

We all got into our final positions and the music stopped cueing for more screams from fans. I looked down at Jenny and she was smiling happily to the fans. She bowed to fans and I followed along. The sound crew ran up to us and handed the Alpha members microphones.

“Umm… thank you… so much for… turning up today…” Jenny said in between breaths, “It means so much to Alpha that everyone turned up today and showed your support.”

“Yeah guys, thank you so much for showing up and making signs for us. Thank you for the letters, we’ll read them and take note of anything you want to see from us in the future. Kasamhamnida!” Shin Ah bowed.

We all got off the stage and I was joking around with Chen when I missed a step and fell forward.

“Whoa!” I heard Tao shout out as he tried to grab me.

Sammy turned around and moved out of the way and I was expecting to hit the ground. I felt someone grab my forearm pull me to the side so I fell onto the railing.

“Wow… Jenny is so cool!”

“Jenny, you saved Kris’ life,” I heard Luhan say.

“Now we are even,” Jenny said to me as she walked off.

“Even? When did you owe me one?”

Jenny furrowed her eyebrows, “I don’t know…”

----------Flashback/Vision-----------

It was during the trainee days and it was Tao’s first week at SM so Jenny and I decided to give him a tour of Hongdae.

“This is awesome! I have never been here before!” Tao grinned as he walked alongside Jenny.

“That was my reaction when I first got here too. It is 2 in the morning and there are still people walking around.”

Jenny turned around to me, “Kris, if you’re not going to help me be a guide for Tao, then can you just walk with us and look pretty?”

“Pretty? Yah, I can do more than look pretty.”

“You can fix a light bulb without a ladder,” Jenny smiled at me.

“Haha. You are hilarious,” I took a step forward and was walking next to Tao.

Tao wrapped his arm around Jenny’s neck and mine, “I have only been here a week and you two have looked after me so well.”

Jenny laughed, “We foreigners need to stick together.”

“I know,” Tao widened his eyes, “some of the Korean trainees are harsh…”

Jenny shook her head, “Let’s not think about that? Me and my fellow metric system buddy will give you a tour around Hongdae.”

Jenny pointed forward, “Let’s go!”

Tao nodded his head, “I’m hungry. Who wants to eat? I’ll trade my cuteness for food?”

Jenny laughed as she put her thumbs up, “Deal. I just got my allowance anyways.”

I messed up Jenny’s hair, “You are paying for his meal.”

Jenny looked at me, dumbfounded, “Hey… not cool Krisp Chips. Not cool.”

“You can pay to me in cuteness too.”

Jenny looked up at me, “Kevin oppa! Please- Nope, nope. I can’t do this.”

“What happened to your ‘YOU CAN DO THIS!’?” I imitated Jenny.

I noticed a car driving towards us and I felt the need to pull Jenny towards the shops. I reached my arm out and grabbed her arm, pulling her towards the shop just in time, as the car drove past.

“Jenny! Are you okay?” Tao asked.

Jenny looked up at me with a shocked expression.

“You owe me one.”

Great, now I am just imagining things again. I really need to catch up on sleep. That wasn’t even how it happened. Tao pulled her towards the shop. Not me. I was dragged by Tao to come along. I wanted to stay inside and watch the basketball match with Fiona. Great, now my brain is just making things up.

Title: ALPHA holds a successful debut showcase.

Gathering a crowd of over 10 000, ALPHA not only displayed their talents but also won the love of fans with their down to earth personality and their professionalism, moving away from the rookie image.

Opening with big intro, the girls delivered a strong performance of their upbeat title track, “Nice Girl”, the girls then followed with the upbeat feel with two other songs from their single album, “Undefeatable” and “Stand Strong”. ALPHA then presented to fans a more mature and mellow side to them with their songs, “Sunday Afternoon” and “Let it Be”.

In addition, ALPHA performed in pairs, showing fans more of their talent. Shin Ah and Min Jung showed off their impressive vocals with a cover of Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You”, So Yeon and Sammy gave an unforgettable rock performance with Sammy on the drums and So Yeon singing. Finally, leader Jenny and maknae Ji Hae did a dance and vocal cover of labelmate, Girls’ Generation’s “Genie”. The members were then joined on stage with another labelmate, EXO-M and delivered a fantastic dance routine, leaving fans in awe.

Fans after the showcase left comments like, “I am definitely a fan”, “I will definitely keep an eye on them”, “Is it strange that I am not jealous of them performing with EXO-M?”, “I can already name all the members”, “This group’s dynamic is different to other girl groups” and “I’m impressed they composed the whole album themselves.”

Alpha is set to have their first stage performance on Inkigayo; in addition, they have received many love calls for variety shows.
