It's become somewhat of a habit, waking to the constant ringing of her phone and opening her front door to see a stumbling and staggering Jongin waiting for her with a grin plastered across his handsome face. She lets him in and lets him sink into bed with her, eyes bloodshot and hands cold. She lets him hurry his hands against the warmth of her abdomen and listens to his breaths shallow and become even.

The next morning, she wakes to an empty bed.

She meets Jongin again on a Friday night going home from work. His eyes light up and she lets him follow her home. She smells the alcohol against his clothes and cringes.

"Soojung, hasn't want one told you how beautiful you are?" his breath reeks of booze. Soojung's cheeks flush when he flattens her against the wall.

"You're drunk," she states. Jongin doesn't seem to hear her.

"You are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen," he trails his lips against the shell of her ear. She feels herself shiver at the level of intimacy.

"Jongin, stop."

"A beautiful white lily. Or a snowflake. Something so pure..."

She closes her eyes and his lips are smoothing over her own. Moist lips and tongue, stained with the bitterness of alcohol. She feels blood rushing through her veins and the thundering rhythm of Jong in ' s heart beat. Then he pulls away, a smirk lining his lips, red and swollen

"A pearl in the sand. A beauty a I just can't touch."

He sleeps on the couch.

When she sees him again, it's midday and the sun is high. He's dressed in jeans and a button up shirt. His smile is genuine and sober. Sober. 

"It's the first time I've seen you sober," she says. Jongin stops in his tracks and turns to her.

"You're too beautiful for me to stain," he replies, hands shoved in his pockets and eyes cast down to the ground.

Soojung smiles. She touches her lips against his cheek and watches him start. "You already have."
