I Hate You But Then I Don't
Irene was busy reviewing some documents when her phone suddenly rang wildly on the table. She yelped in shock as she saw the name that appeared on the screen of the device.
Kang Seulgi.
She winced. After the incident that happened the other night, she started to avoid the girl. It was all unexpected. It was too much for her to handle. She just recently found out the truth about their true relationship before and then came next was Seulgi’s confession.
Joohyun had a feeling prior to the revelation of what they had, but she tried to brush it all away because she knew that Seulgi was already taken. And as much as she wanted to not involve Seulgi with everything, they would always be linked together because Seulgi was Wendy and Irene’s mutual connection aside from her parents’ death.
Irene tried not to feel anything for Seulgi but the latter was unconsciously pulling her in and the gravitational pull was too strong for her to ignore.
She puffed her cheeks before she decided to answer the call.
“I’m busy, Kang.” Irene greeted with full of sarcasm at its finest.
“Are you busy or are you avoiding me?”
“I’m busy. And yes I’m avoiding you. Do you have a problem with that?” Irene answered bravely and rolled her eyes. She continued to go over with the papers she has in hand.
Irene heard a chuckle from the other line that she grunted.
“We’re getting married tomorrow wife, you won’t be able to run away from me now.” She teased.
Joohyun knew that. And it’d be harder for her to execute her plans.
“You don’t have to remind me that, weirdo. If you’re not going to say anything important I’ll drop this call. I have more pressing matters to deal with than talking with you on the phone.” She muttered darkly.
“I just want to hear your voice, wife. Don’t be so harsh to me.” She feigned hurt but Irene knew better. She was just toying with her.
“Whatever, dude. Bye.”
Irene ended the call and shook her head with a small smile plastered on her face. She might not admit it but her heart reacted with whatever punch line Seulgi just dropped.
“What a greasy bear.”
“Krys, why don’t we notify Joohyun first that we are here?” Jessica bugged her sister again. She was skeptical on the idea of surprising their cousin because they might be disturbing her.
Krystal rolled her eyes, “Duh, unnie. If we tell her then it’s not a surprise anymore.”
“Joohyunnie won’t get mad, I promise. We can go to lunch together and have family bonding after we pester her.” The youngest Jung chirped before hopping towards the elevator.
The Jung sisters didn’t notice the stares their getting from the people around them, even if they did notice all they do was ignore them.
Irene was all smiley which was unlikely her because she never let her emotion show at work, but it’s all Seulgi’s magic that it even worked to the badass director.
Her mood was in a good condition before another presence dampened the atmosphere.
The doubled doors flung dramatically, Irene halted. Her eyebrows met the moment her eyes landed on the intruder.
“How do you do it? What did you do to my girlfriend?” Wendy roared, Yeri was holding her hand, stopping her to reach her boss but the girl was so empowered with anger that she yanked her hand so hard, making the poor
