“NO!!! EOMMAAAA…APPAAAAAA!” Irene screamed from her sleep. Her forehead was now beading with sweat, her eyebrows crooked and her hair was all over against her pillow.

Her eyes snapped open as she catches her breath.

Her painful scream bellowed around the house that it certainly woke her uncle, auntie and cousins up.

A soft rustle towards her room was heard until the door cracked open, revealing a bunch of people with apprehensive looks plastered on their faces.

“Joohyun! Are you okay?” Mrs. Seo was the first one to reach the flustered girl’s side. She rubbed Irene’s back comfortingly. Then, one by one, Mr. Seo, Seohyun and Johnny piled in the room. The younger male was the last one to step inside with a glass of water in hand.

“Here…drink some water noona.” Johnny handed the glass of water as his mother reached for it and handed it to the female beside her. The matriarch was frowning, worried at her niece.

When Irene was done, Johnny initiatively took the glass from her with a soft, careful smile.

“Did you dream about your parents again?” Mr. Seo probed, but his tone was wary. Irene responded with a short nod, her eyes were blood shot red from too much crying in her sleep.

She dreamt about the accident once again. It has been years since it happened but the memories seemed to be fresh in her mind as if it all happened yesterday. She haven’t had this attack in a long time, the last was when she was a senior in college.

If this happened tonight, there must be something up that stressed her over to be agitated like this again.

“We should probably let her rest, eomma.” Seohyun suggested and the elder just nodded in agreement. “Joohyun-ah…take some more rest, okay? If you need us, don’t hesitate to call our attention, or maybe Johnny.”

“Thank you, auntie.” She mumbled, she was nibbling her lower lip.

The Seo family had an exchanged of knowing looks and soon, Irene was left alone in the room in silence.

Cautious, Johnny closed the door as he looked at her parents and sister. “She’s bothered over Seulgi. Probably the reason why she’s experiencing this nightmare attacks again. I hate to see her this way.” Johnny frowned.

He had seen his cousin struggled right after the accident that happened a year after they migrated to California.

Irene suffered too much.

“I know. We saw her weep when she found out about her parents. And the effects of the car crash, luckily, she survived that one but she had a long time to fully recover.” Seohyun stated as she remembered when they flew immediately to L.A.

“Is she okay? How is she?” Mrs. Seo appeared along with her husband and kids in the hospital, rushing about. Mrs. Jung came to her and hugged her at once.

“The doctor said that she passed through the critical stage and we just have to wait for her to wake up but…Junghyun and Hanjoo didn’t make it.” She looked down as her eyes began to water again.

Mrs. Jung and Mrs. Seo couldn’t believe that their brother already left them. Bae Junghyun was happily planning the trip to Europe to somehow cheer their daughter up but this tragedy came gushing down unexpectedly and unwontedly.

“That child had gone through s and now she’s facing her past again. If only the elders didn’t come up with this idea.” Mr. Seo sounded bitter about the arranged marriage set up that he couldn’t help but to blame it to the elders.

“Let’s just be there for Joohyun. I’m sure she needs someone to depend on and we’re here. We know how closed she was with her true emotions. It’s no use to blame anyone for all of this.” Mrs. Seo pointed out.

“Byul, something’s wrong with Hyun. I don’t know what happened to her.”

Seulgi was in a restobar in Myeongdong with her friend. She called the girl because she needed to talk to someone or she’ll go crazy. And she couldn’t possibly call Wendy to vent out about her ex, could she?
