As soon as Donghae’s lips landed on hers, the long beep sound from the heart monitor earlier suddenly changed to a continuous beep one, catching him off guard as he immediately shot his eyes open. Pulling his lips away from her pale one, his gaze diverted to the source of the sound and to his surprise, the flat-line that he had seen earlier had changed to a jagged one. He was stunned and turned to the others to make sure that he wasn’t just imagining things. But nope, they also looked as shocked as him as they stared at the heart monitor wide-eyed.

They became statues, doing nothing other than staring at the heart monitor and Minhee back and forth in shock. Seeing Minhee’s chest rising up and down unlike before made them stiffen more in their positions.

“W-What’s happening?” Donghae asked no one in particular but the others were too shocked to even say a word.

They didn’t even realize that a nurse came into the room to do a task that was given to her; to turn off the machines including the heart monitor in the room. And when the nurse saw the jagged line on the heart monitor, she became stunned like everyone else in the room and stared at the heart monitor in shock and bewilderment. For a second, she thought she had entered the wrong room but she recognized the patient as Minhee as she was one of the nurses that were there during the patient’s last checkup. She still remembered how the heart monitor had started making a long beep sound along with a flat-line shown on its screen while the doctor was trying to survive Minhee earlier. And seeing the jagged line on the same heart monitor again now, of course she felt shocked! Still in shock and disbelief, she ran out of the room to call for the doctor.

Not long after that, the doctor and a few nurses came, rushing into the room – making the still-shocked idols finally looked away from Minhee and looked at them only to see that the doctor and the nurses were already stunned hearing the sound that came from the heart monitor and seeing the jagged line that displayed on it. Still stunned, the doctor told the idols to get out of the room for a moment while he and his nurses checked up on the patient.

Outside the room, they nervously waited for the doctor to finish checking up on Minhee. After witnessing what had happened just now, there was a priceless mix of surprise, shock, fear, disbelief, with a tiny spark of excitement and hope inside their heart. They somehow could feel that there was a chance that Minhee was still alive regarding what the heart monitor had told them earlier. But still, they needed to hear what the doctor would say about it, about Minhee’s condition.

After several minutes, the doctor and the nurses came out of the room and the idols curiously asked the doctor regarding Minhee’s condition.

The doctor breathed out softly, still looked stunned like earlier. “I....don’t know what to say. In our previous check up on the patient, we did try many times to make her heart beat back, but to no avail. But, after checking her up again just now, I’ve found out that her heart beat like normally back and she now is in stable condition. I must say that she’ll be waking up any time soon,” the doctor informed them with a smile.

Upon hearing that, a smile finally made its way to their face as they let out a sigh of relief and content. Some of them even had tears of joy glistening in their eyes. Though they still couldn’t fully believe what was happening, ‘Thank God’ came out of their mouths repeatedly as they couldn’t be more grateful over the miracle that just happened in front of their eyes.

“Seriously, throughout these ten years of my career, I never experienced something miraculous like this before. Maybe your love for her makes her stay strong to live.” That was the last time the doctor said before he left the idols who were now smiling widely. Without wasting a sec, they rushed into the room, couldn’t wait to see Minhee.

Once all of them entered the room, they couldn’t help but smile widely and their eyes sparkled upon seeing the jagged line along with the beeps sound from the heart monitor. Even though Minhee hadn’t woken up yet, they still couldn’t be happier to know that Minhee was still alive. F(x) members hugged each other out of happiness meanwhile the boys hugged Donghae who seemed to be still in shock and disbelief. But of course he was happy. In fact, he was the happiest among them in the room.

Suddenly, the dream that he had had every night for the past three months came into his mind; the dream where it always ended after Minhee requested him to kiss her on the lips and when he was about to kiss her, she disappeared.
Then, Donghae remembered something. Something that had happened just minutes ago. He remembered the moment he had kissed her on almost the whole face a while ago and he still remembered how the heart monitor started letting out a different sound when he was kissing her lips.

Now he got it. After wondering about the meaning behind the dream for these past three months, only now he knew what Minhee had tried to tell him through the dream.

‘If I didn’t kiss her lips just now, I think she’d have disappeared not only from my sight like in the dream, but also from my life’ Donghae thought, his smile widened if that was possible.

Out of happiness, Donghae took Minhee’s hand in his and said, "Minhee ah, is it true? Is that why you always appeared in my dream every night? Is that―” he trailed off when he felt the hand that he was holding moving slightly. He instantly looked down at it then diverted his gaze to her face and his eyes sparkled when he saw her eyelids slightly move before they slowly fluttered open revealing her beautiful dark brown orbs.

"Minhee!" All of them exclaimed happily once they saw Minhee, whom they had thought that she would never open her eyes anymore, now was opening her eyes. The girls couldn’t hold back their tears of joy from falling, so did Donghae, as it had been three months they waited for Minhee to awake and now she had woken up! Only God knew how happy they were at the moment.

It took Minhee for a while to adjust to the light and once she was done, she looked at them in a glance then looked at her surroundings.

“W-What happened? Where am I?” Minhee asked cluelessly.

“You had a car accident three months ago, Minhee ah,” Victoria told, tenderly the younger's hair.

“Car accident? Three months ago?” Minhee asked in confusion.

“Yes. You had been in a coma for three months already. Now you’re in hospital”

Minhee remained silent as she tried to remember back what had happened three months ago.

“I’m so happy that you’re awake now, Minhee ah” Donghae said, trying to steal her attention as he found Minhee didn’t even spare a glance at him ever since she got conscious though her hand was still in his. He felt his heart flutter when she turned to him and their eyes finally met after three months. He flashed her a wide smile but he couldn’t deny that she looked kinda confused once her eyes laid on him.

“Who are you?” 

Donghae’s smile slowly faded upon hearing that, meanwhile the others were stunned.

“I-I....I’m Donghae. Don’t you remember me?” Donghae asked, his heart felt uneasy at the thought that she didn’t remember him. With the head injury that she had from the car accident that had happened to her a few months ago, there was a possibility that it would happen.

“You are....our new manager?” she asked with a doubt. ‘Our’ that she mentioned indicated to F(x).

Upon hearing that, tears started stinging in his eyes. ‘S-She really doesn’t remember me’ he thought sadly and his heart broke into pieces. He thought, after she got conscious, they’d get back together and start all over again. But unfortunately, he was wrong. He had never expected that she would lose her memory and not remember him.

“M-Minhee ah, you knew us, right?” Eunhyuk asked, indicating to Super Junior.

“Of course I know. Super Junior!” she sounded happy upon mentioning the group name. “Oh, I think I know who he is!” she said and that made Donghae’s sorrowful eyes start to sparkle back. “He’s your manager, isn’t he?” That made Donghae’s face darkened back while the others were stunned and fell silent as they looked at Donghae apologetically, feeling bad for him.

“Excuse me. I’m going to the toilet” Donghae mumbled quietly as he headed out of the room. Instead of going to the toilet, he stood outside the room and stood facing the wall that was hidden from being seen by them from inside, then he started crying silently.

‘Maybe this is a punishment for me for hurting her so much back then. I deserve this. I did hurt her. I made her cry. I don’t deserve to love and to be loved by her. Serves me right!’ he thought while sobbing quietly under his palms.

As he was crying, he felt a pair of arms gently wrapped around him. Thinking that it was probably one of the members trying to calm him down, he ignored the person and continued crying.

“Oppa...”

Upon hearing the voice, Donghae instantly stopped crying as his heart started beating rapidly.
Pulling his hands away from burying his face, he didn’t bother to wipe his tears off as he quickly turned around to know who was backhugging him. To be exact, he wanted to know if the owner of the voice was really like what he thought of. As soon as he faced the owner of the voice, he froze.

“M-Minhee...”

Minhee smiled softly at him and her eyes softened upon seeing his tear-stained cheeks. “I really did make you cry,” she muttered as she reached out and gently rubbed his tears away from his cheeks. Her action made his heart flutter even though confusion written all over his face.

‘She doesn’t remember me, does she?  But why is she here? Does she perhaps feel guilty towards me?’ he thought.

After wiping his tears away, she cupped his cheeks and stared into his eyes with her soft gaze.
“I love you, oppa. There’s no way I’d forget you when you’re the first person I was thinking of when I got conscious earlier,” she said softly as her thumbs gently caressed his cheeks.

Donghae’s eyes sparkled upon hearing her words as his lips slowly twitched up forming a smile. “You....you remember me? Y-You don’t forget me?” he asked with a hint of happiness in his voice.

Minhee nodded her head in reply. “I was just playing around, oppa. Sorry for making you cry”

He sighed in relief and pulled her into his arms. “You shouldn’t have joked around about something like that. You scared me, you know,” he couldn’t help but cry again but this time, it was tears of joy.

“I’m sorry,” she said and hugged him back, tears of joy running down her cheeks as she closed her eyes, cherishing the moment that she was yearning for.

Suddenly, what Yoona had told her the last time they had met echoed in her mind. Minhee still remembered it clearly even though three months had passed – she felt like Yoona had just told her about it yesterday. Remembering back about it, made her feel a pang of guilt.

"I’m sorry, oppa" she apologized as she broke the hug. "I didn't trust you. I treated you so badly back then. I'm so sorry" she finished her sentence with tears slowly trickling down her cheeks.

“It’s okay. I understand. In fact, I’m the one who should
