Husband & Wife

Incomplete Marriage

“If anyone has any reasons to why these two should not be joined in marriage, speak now or forever hold you piece.”

I turned to Halmeoni, my eyes thinned as I glared at her from beneath the veil, she dare open and I will leap at her. Suddenly she shifted and I jumped, jerking my head back, no way, no way, don’t you dare-

“You may now kiss the bride.”

Changmin put his hand on my shoulder pulling me around to him. I stared back, my eyes wide, god, he was going to kiss me now and we’ll be married forever. Forever? I was going to be married to him forever. He smiled at me. Wow, that veil went up really fast, doesn’t it usually take a much long- Changmin’s lips pressed against mine, his nose grazing my cheek. I let out a little giggle. Causing him to retreat back.

“Introducing Mr Shim Changmin and Mrs Shim Seung Ni.”

“Shim Jang Seung Ni,” I frowned.

The priest nodded his apologies as Changmin dragged me down the aisle. I felt like a celebrity, a hot man on my arms, a haute couture dress, a huge rock, wow this was like a dream come true. I beamed giddily, bringing up a hand imitating my Princess Diana wave. Oooo… if I just had a Lady Dior Carnage handbag on my arm I’d be just like her. I cringed, but then it wouldn’t match my dress.

“Mrs Shim,” Changmin whispered into my ear.

I turned to him slightly confused.

Changmin grinned, he tucked his hand into his pocket pulling out a sheet. I smiled slightly curious.

“Like on the bottom of your drawing!” he waved the paper in front of me.

My mouth fell open as I reached for it, “Yah!” I growled.

He grinned, putting it above his head, “I should really frame this,”

I winced, the embarrassment, I furiously threw my hands at him trying to reach it.

“Should I hang it on top of our bed?”

I gasped, my mouth forming an ‘o’.

Changmin shifted his lip in thought, “Not embarrassing enough,” his eyes lightened, “The sitting room…”

I bared my teeth.

“I know!” he gasped, “The lobby!”

I inhaled sharply, I lunged at him.

“Yah!” he brushed my hands off, “If we’re going to use your design for the hotel in China, it’d be nice to hang the blueprint on the lobby,” he smirked.

I narrowed my eyes, “Don’t you dare!”

He grinned, wrapping his arm around my shoulder as he lead me out to the wedding car, “Oh, but it’s so small you can barely see it.”

I lunged for it again, but he quickly folded it stuffing it back into his blazer. I folded my arms against my chest as the chauffeur opened the door to the car.

“What is that?” I froze, looking at the white beaten car.

“It’s vintage.”

“Vintage?” I gasped.

Changmin grinned, “You’ve been riding around in luxury cars for months now, you should try something different.”

I turned to him aghast, “Different?” I gasped, “Different is a Bugatti Veyron, or a Lamborghini Reventon, or or…” I bounced on the seat excited, “Or a McLaren F1!” I clapped my hands together.

Changmin shook his head clicking his tongue, “Do you know how much money I saved from not getting one of those cars?”

I froze, my mind racing in thought as I began calculating, his right.

“Think about all those shoes you can buy.”

“Shoes?” I turned to him with puppy eyes.

Changmin nodded, “For at least ten years.”

“Ten years?” I murmured in bliss.

“From every country,” Changmin chimed in my ears.

I was beaming giddily.

“But of course we’re only dreaming,”

I snapped, turning to face him. What? What is he saying?

“Jang Seung Ni is too independent to be using money off a man.”

My mouth fell open, “Wh… what?”

“You’ll be working for your money right hon? Since you’re going to graduate soon.”

My lower lip trembled, “No shoes?”

Changmin smiled, his eyes mismatched, “Not at least for a year or two…”

“But we’re going to Milan for our honey moon,” I whined.

Changmin nodded, “Yes I know that, but since you’re always going on about how independent you are and how much you like to do things on your own…”

I narrowed my eyes, “What did you do?”

Changmin grinned, “I only linked your bank account to our travel card.”

I couldn’t even close my mouth, “But what about the credit card?” I gasped, why was it so hard to breathe in here?

Changmin smiled, grabbing my hand, “All frozen in containers Shopoholic style.”

I sunk back into the seat disappointed. We were going to Milan and he linked my account? My measily, nothing a month account to our travel expenses? I cringed, how am I going to buy things now? What about Pucci? Valentino? Miu Miu? All the Italian leather? Damn, I was even planning to buy him a gift from Armani, yes I said gift, even if I was thinking about using his money, technically our money now, it was still a gift. They do say its the thought that counts, right? I winced, all that shopping, Italian culture gone. I sighed wishfully.

“Except for this one credit card we might need for emergencies,” he smiled, waving the platinum Visa in front of me.

Immediately my eyes lit up, my hand snatching onto it, “I’ll keep that,” I beamed sweetly, planting a kiss on his cheek. I looked out the window the card held tightly in my hand, maybe this honey moon won’t be so bad after all.
