A New Designer

Incomplete Marriage
“Seung Ni!” my mum shouted. I frowned, walking out with my pajamas and a toothbrush in my mouth, what is it now? “What?” I mumbled, through a mouthful of foam. Changmin raised a brow. “Changmin’s here,” my mum said quickly, staring at me aghast. I choked on the minty foam, my eyes wide, quickly ducking back into the bathroom. I quickly washed up, pulled my hair out from its hair tier and ran to my room. Changmin was sitting on my bed. “What are you doing here?” I frowned. He raised a brow, “So this is what your room looks like.” I raised an eyebrow, “I don’t remember letting you into my room.” He shrugged, “I didn’t let you into mine.” “Your father did!” He rolled his eyes, “Whatever.” I put my hands on my hips, “What do you want?” Changmin grinned, picking up the frame with the picture of us, “My parents have gone to China again.” I shrugged, walking out the room and into the kitchen. He followed me, “Some problems with the architecture’s design, the Chinese people have rebelled against it, he clearly didn’t do his research.” I shrugged again, pulling out a bowl and cereal, “Is that what you came to tell me? Didn’t I say I was going to see you for lunch.” He frowned, “No, that’s not all I came here for.” I raised a brow. “Move back with me.” My eyebrows knitted together, “Why?” Changmin leant on the bench, “Why not?” “I like it at home,” He tried to smile, “But, I want you to move back.” I shook my head, continuing to spoon cereal into my mouth. “What are you eating?” “Cereal.” “Why?” I looked up at him with a frown. “You can have anything you want at my house.” I snorted, “I happen to like cereal.” Changmin pouted, “Okay then,” he sighed. I grinned, “Do you really want me back that badly?” He turned to me, still pouting. I raised a brow, “Fine!” I sighed, scrunching up my lips. He smiled, “See, why do you have to be so difficult for?” I growled. “Stop eating that!” Changmin frowned, taking the bowl from me. I slapped his hand, “Hey!” “One more thing!” he suddenly said. I pouted, taking my bowl back. “You’re hired again. Go change, I need a new design immediately. The hotel needs to be up soon.” He took me by the shoulders and pushed me into my room, “Come on!” he snapped. I quickly changed and took an overnight with me. Changmin grinned, grabbed me by the hand and proceeded to drag me out of my own house. “Another thing!” he snapped. I jumped, yanking my hand away from him. “Why are you so demanding today?” He swallowed, a fake smile on his face, “One more thing…” he said, this time much nicer. I grinned, “What is it?” Changmin dropped to his knees and pulled out a black box. I raised an eyebrow, “Why isn’t it branded?” I frowned, leaning into to get a closer look. He snorted, “Let me finish!” He pulled the box away from my sight. My upper lip jerk, “Go ahead.” “Jang Seung Ni,” he began. A smile crept on my face, despite my hardest attempt to hide it. “Will you be brave enough to be chained to me for the rest of your life.” I made a face, “The rest of my life?” He nodded. I chewed a lip, “Let me see it first.” I pointed a finger at the box. He laughed, opening the black box for me. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41-gjS5vwsL.jpg I snorted with laughter, “You’re proposing to me with this?” He grinned, standing up, “You’re getting freedom,” he slipped the ring onto my left hand. “I’m nomination, because I nominated you.” I brought a hand to my mouth laughing, “They say, wedding rings are the smallest handcuffs!” Changmin nodded, “Yeah it was either this or a ball and chain, but that was too big to fit into my pocket.” He grinned, taking my hand in his. I slapped him on the arm, grinning, “I still want a diamond.” “Oh,” he smiled, “I have that covered.” He pulled out the legacy ring, “We did choose this together right?” I nodded, giving him my left hand. He grinned, but instead of putting it on the wedding ring finger he placed it on my middle finger. I frowned. “It gives me something to look at when you raise it!” I laughed, “That doesn’t give you the permission to aggravate me further.” He grinned, “But it’s such a pretty ring.” I frowned, but he pushed me into his car. “Come on let’s go!” he clapped his hand together. We got to the hotel, he let me enter the lift on my own, “Go on up, I need to get something.” I frowned, but did what I was told. I pushed my way into his office, his leather chair appealed to me. I giggled as I immediately ran to it and sunk into its soft leather. Changmin pushed the door into his office, I nearly fell out of the chair, my mouth ajar. He raised a brow, “Comfortable there?” I nodded, “Very.” He grinned, “Look what I got you!” he raised a hand towards the door. I perched on the edge of my seat, curious. One of the hotel staff came in carrying a large drawing board, another one following him with aluminum cases of drawing equipment. My jaw drop. “Exciting isn’t it?” he grinned. I couldn’t even close my mouth, “What… why?” I stuttered. My eyes narrowed, “Do you want to torture me forever?” Changmin brought a hand up to his head confused. “Do you know how long hand drawings take? We’re the future. We use Autocad now.” He frowned at me, still confused. “Ommo…” I sighed closing my eyes, “Computers.” Changmin’s jaw drop, “I never thought about that,” he pouted. I laughed, “It’s okay,” I picked up the t-ruler, “These things are expensive!” Changmin nodded, “I know.” “And this!” I picked up a complete set of rotoring pens, “How many did you buy?” Changmin shrugged, “I thought you needed all of them.” I snorted, “You should have asked.” “I wanted to surprise you.” “Ha…” I sighed, “Do I get to draw here?” He nodded. “I this chair too?” I smirked. Changmin groaned, “And where do I go?” I shrugged, dipping my hands in the pencil case to pull out a mechanical pencil. “The couch?” Changmin snorted and dropped into the couch, “This better be a good design!” Changmin busily typed on his MacBook as I drew at his desk. My neck was hurting but I couldn’t possibly let this idea escape from my memory. The design was perfect, I think. But no matter how hard I tried to get my concept onto the paper, it didn’t come out as I wanted. I was losing hope. “How are you going?” I jumped, knocking over the bucket of metal rulers that I’ve placed on the edge of the table. Changmin immediately came over. “No, don’t!” I gasped, crossing my arms over my work, leaning over it protectively. Changmin raised a brow, “What have you done?” I looked up at him, a frown on my face, “It’s not ready yet.” Changmin tugged at my elbow, “Move!” I looked up at him with puppy eyes. “That doesn’t work on me.” I growled. He pushed me over pulling the A1 tracing paper away from me. “Is that…” he suppressed his smile. I covered my face, “No…” “A shopping bag?” he snorted with laughter. I reached for the paper but he turned away. “Wait,” I cringed. “That’s THREE shopping bags.” I inhaled loudly, “Give it back…” “You went to university for five years and you draw me three shopping bags?” I cringed, my eyes closed. “What’s this doodle at the bottom.” Now I wanted to vomit. Changmin brought the piece of paper closer to his face. “Give it back,” I growled, jumping for the paper, but he put it above his head, lifting up his head to read. “Mrs…” I thinned my lip, the embarrassment, don’t say it aloud please. “Shim!” I gagged, running around the table and then out the door. I ran straight into the elevator. “Mrs Shim!” he shouted after me. The door closed, just in time to hide the smile on my face. I brought a hand to my mouth laughing. The lift opened up, I walked into the lobby, the staff were lining out at the entrance. What was all this commotion? I tiptoed towards the door, the staff ignoring me. Outside was a parked Rolls Royce. A Rolls Royce? My jaw dropped, who was rich enough to come in a Rolls Royce. I frowned, who was I kidding, this is the most prestigious hotel in Seoul, of course they’ll arrive in a Rolls Royce. I looked out the glass door, a smile on my face, I hope it’s a celebrity. Oh, oh, if it was Big Bang I’m going to die. The car door opened and an old sophisticated woman came out. My heart dropped, no excitement for me today. She made her way down the carpet, my mouth fell open. “Halmeoni,” I breathed. I turned around quick, ducking behind a tree plant. What was she doing here? I turned around, she stormed her way into the lobby. “Changmin,” she snapped. I swallowed hard, my eyes trained on her. “He’s in his office.” The lift opened with a ‘ding’ and Changmin came out a grin on his face. “Changmin!” Halmeoni cried. Changmin’s face dropped, “Halmeoni.” I watched as she led him to the lift, the door closing. I frowned, what was I going to do now? I sighed, turned around and walked straight out the lobby.
