Now...Indonesian song!! xD

Remember when I told about my music preference phases in my different life stages...Well, Indonesian music were the final phase i had before being in by Korean music...and oh the glorious Indonesian music in those early 2000...i'd say...better than today's kpop anyday...

But then again, today's kpop(especially the mainstream, popular ones) is so horribly generic and lacking in my ears and eyes, any music probly could do better? While there are still some decent ones, but very scarce and probly only 10% from everytime i randomly try a newly released song. That i just got sick to even try.

And to be fair, i feel that music scene in general anywhere just gets worse with time...or at least the ones i keep tabs on...even my own local music here sounds like trash, when it was glorious back in 90s.

Oh well, those good old days...i guess i'm still lucky i had the time of being able to enjoy wholesome music left and right...even if now is just blerh in every sense. I feel like technology is decreasing our life quality and wholesomeness in general...or is that just me n over observance? Anyway, don't get mad first, cuz see, i'm a technology user and computer addict too....though at least i don't look at my phone while walking or talking to people or eating...heh...

Anyway, back to this song I want to share today...that I really adore and still call it my fav. I think...anyone who knows me well enough, would know right away why i freaking love this song the moment they see(and understand) the lyrics. Which is why...I decided to translate it into English even though i was scared since Indonesian isn't my language so would i be decent enough? idk...it's not that far from my language but there are differences, but I've been wanting to have this song translated/more understood by more poeple for the longest of time...bcuz it's a gem, and today, I'm happy i did it.

I even think the MV is so beautiful, bcuz it shows the everyday people in average or lower average society. And that's beautiful. In fact, i always feel that you can even understand the lyrics just by watching the video, which is why i decide to not review the MV...since what is there left to be talked about? You read the lyrics, you see the scenes, you feel it. That's it. Though i really like the realistic depiction, and with additionals like pickpockets, discomfort of personal space invaded, the ignorant/unaware conductor, etc. in the compact bus. It's a nice touch that it could be that our main guy isn't really that poor that he can't afford taking another bus home since he got the wrong one, but his money was stolen in the bus while he's completely oblivious.

The song might sound upbeat, cheerful and with the video it might even look/sound funny. But right off the bat when i first listen to it, i felt the wistfulness, pensiveness of this song. It's an everyday story of everyman that not all of us can empathize/sympathize/understand, because not every one of us go through this kind of life. What's so special of it? nothing, and that makes everything special. Maybe it's because it strike a chord with me right away. I know this life. I grew up with it. And though it might be unpleasant to go through, the recollection of it always makes me smile. My life was special. Because how many people around me can even imagine surviving this life. And yet I know there are many greater people out there who could survive even more difficult situations. Sure, money makes you happy, but it's the capability and endurance to toughen up against the harder edges of life is what makes you great. At least that's how i see it. And this song just makes me happy and sad at the same time. I sympathize with the character because I can feel each of the descriptions and situations and the tiredness and disappointment that comes with it. Yet i know, for everyday people (of the lower standard maybe) or for people who lived harder, these are such a normal/average thing that it can make us/them laugh probably, which the ones only used to comfy life might find themselves stuck in hell facing such situations. Well, i don't mean to belittle, it's just...i've encountered too many people who would say they don't even know how to take the bus...in disdainful way...like it's something to be proud of...to not know how to get around with bus...i laugh.

Well, i'm a bus kid. I grew up by bus. i still like getting on buses, though i hate waiting for bus. Or anything.

But getting on wrong bus, especially a jampacked one, and not the comfy ones like myrapid buses but like bas mini those days that were always packed(or...if in modern day KL, maybe metrobus?)...and other buses with no airconds especially those that loves to stuff in as many passengers inside even when there's no more space to breathe...

oh goodness,....the pain....
