In the Car on the way back to the Hotel

Amber’s Pov

“So are you guys excited about tomorrow night?” my sister asked us looking in the rearview mirror to see our faces.

“Yeah it should be a lot of fun. Plus it’s nice to get dressed up once in a while,” Krystal answered pulling my arm tighter around her.

“Thanks for making the reservations at the restaurant Jackie. I know they weren’t easy to get,” I said from the backseat.

“No problem, I’ve got a lot of connections. I just thought it would be a nice thing for all of us to do,” Jackie said.

“Truly I can’t thank you enough for all that you have done for me. For us. I can’t even put into words...” Krystal trailed off.

“Krys you don’t have to. I would do anything for you guys. You make my sister happier than she has ever been. I think of you as part of the family, like a sister,” she said smiling at Krystal in the mirror.

“Thank you,” Krys said leaning forward to touch Jackie’s shoulder.

“Let’s not get all sappy on each other. Look we’re here,” she said stopping the car outside the hotel.

We all got out of the car to exchange goodbyes. Krystal gave Jackie a long hug as I watched with a smilie. When they parted I stepped in to give her a hug.

“Love you,” I said stepping away.

“I love both of you. See you guys tomorrow seven sharp,” she said getting back in the car.

The Next Day

“Hey you almost ready?” Krystal asked walking into my hotel room from the connecting door.

“Yeah, I just gotta tie this,” I said struggling with my tie.

“Let me do it,” she said taking over for me. “I swear I don’t know how you haven’t learned how to do this by now. We might just need to invest in a clip on to make our lives easier,” she rambled finishing tying it. “There,” she said stepping back to admire her work.

I couldn’t help but start laughing at the proud face she was displaying.

“What? Why are you laughing?” she asked.

“I’m sorry, I wasn’t gonna tell you, but the look on your face,” I said through fits of laughter.

“Tell me.”

“I know how to tie it. I just like it when you do it for me.”

“Am, are you kidding me,” she said playfully shoving me.

“I’m sorry princess. It just makes me feel special when you do it for me,” I said becoming serious.

“Well I don’t mind doing it for you. I’ll you have to do is ask.”

“With all that excitement I almost didn’t notice what you were wearing,” I said looking her over. “You look really beautiful in that color. Is it a new dress? I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before.”

“Yeah, I bought it a few weeks ago when you told me that we were going to have this fancy dinner with Jackie. I wanted to surprise you,” she said shyly taking my hand.

“Is that why you packed me my red tie? So that we would match?”
