a million kisses
Pillow Talk
Have you ever liked something or someone so much, that by just hearing their name or seeing their pictures, it make you burst with happiness. The kind of happiness where you just sit there, smiling silly from ear to ear because you are just sohappysohappy.
Then there’s that kiss. You know, that kiss where nothing is quite like it. When you kiss that precious one. The one person you truly deeply love, you would never get tired of it. Bam!Bam!Bam! Your heart is drumming like there’s no tomorrow. And then there are the fireworks! Gee, the fireworks flash at the back of your eyelids. You just feel it with your whole body, from your head down to your fingertips, you feel it. And the way your heart is sososofull with feelings that precious one in the softest way.

She was just talking when she noticed that her girlfriend was getting closer. The next she knew, they’re kissing.
“Okay, what is it?” Eunha asked after their lips were apart.
“What do you mean?” Sowon replied, grinning lazily.
“I mean, you are just kissing me out of nowhere. Not that I hate it, because I love it,” Eunha added in a hurry, “I am just startled because we’re just talking about what we wanted for dinner and then you just kissed me.”
“We’re going to eat at your favorite restaurant.”
“Yeah, you agree to eat there and then I said ‘I love you’.”
“That’s why. Because I want to taste that.”
“Taste the food in the restaurant? We have tried almost all of their menu though.” Eunha started to count the menu that they have tried and the one where they haven’t.
“Not the food.”
“Huh? Then what?”
“When you said ‘I love you’ I wanted to taste your words,” her girlfriend explained as if it’s the most obvious thing, “So, I kissed you.”
Eunha was rendered speechless by the explanation.
Sowon laughed. “Ah, too cute, I want to kiss you again.” And she did.
The kiss was unhurried and soft. Saying without words, the words ‘I love you’. Saying without words that she’s trusting her. Seeing the world even both eyes were closed. Hearing the fluttering of butterflies swarming, flying inside her.
Kissing her always fill her lungs with the sweetest air. Sometimes, instead of the sweetest air, it’s filled with the hottest air. No matter which, both would always leave her breathless. It didn’t matter if the kiss was only one minute or even less than that. Because that kiss, the one from her lover, that would be the one she’s waiting for, always.

Eunha could taste the minty flavor of the toothpaste when they finished kissing. Mint was cold yet the kiss was warm. She knew that Sowon was often brushing her teeth after they’re drinking coffee before kissing her because Sowon knew that Eunha dislike the bitter taste of coffee. The phrase actions speak louder than words, for Eunha, Sowon was the embodiment of it.
Eunha thought that her girlfriend is the best in the world and she wanted to shout it at the top of her lungs. But, then again, she also wanted to keep Sowon all to herself.
So, Eunha settled with tiptoeing and kissing Sowon again. She kissed Sowon like Sowon was the centre of her, the one who’s drawing every fiber in Eunha. Sowon was the center of her gravity. Pulling her in. Letting her fall. And she kept on fallingfallingfalling. One of Sowon’s hands were on top of Eunha’s shoulder while her other hand was at Eunha’s back. Warm and steady.
Breathless, their eyes met. Sowon’s eyes were soft yet firm, an unspoken promise that she would always catch Eunha if she ever fall. Eunha took a breath, wondering if her eyes could convey the same things. That, if ever Sowon finding herself falling, Eunha would catch her. Always.
Eunha thought that it’s probably better for them to just catch each other, for they’re both have fallen. Keep on falling for each other. It’s supposed to be scary, freefalling like this, but when Eunha looked at Sowon, all of the fear vanished. They’re together, there’s nothing to be afraid of, is what Eunha concluded.
--
A smile tugged at the corner of Sowon’s lips. “Hey, you.”
“Hi, you.” Eunha smiled.
They kissed again. The whole world opened up and she fell inside. Everything else was left behind. Voices were on mute. Yet, she didn’t care. Because the one person who mattered was beside her. And that’s the most important for her.
