Second Day
Our World (Sequel to I'm Different)Haneul’s POV
I came into the room the next day to find him still asleep. I almost forgot that the room was still in a mess. I tripped over something, causing other stuff in the pile of mess to drop as well, creating a really loud sound. I turned over when I heard Junhyung groan.
“What happened?” He asked tiredly.
“Great job, Haneul.” I mumbled under my breath, smacking myself mentally for waking him up. He had a tough night. I heard him vomiting a few times.
“Nothing happened. Sorry I woke you. Go back to sleep.” I said.
He looked at me with half-opened eyes, and then one side of his mouth curled up.
“Don’t smile like that.” I muttered, looking away.
He may be my husband and there is no part of him I have not seen, but there are times I still cannot handle the fan-girl in me.
“Why?” He asked in a husky voice.
“No reason.” I said, picking up stuff carelessly.
“Too y for you to handle?” He asked, sitting up.
His hair was in a mess; the y kind of mess.
“How are you feeling?” I asked.
“Not good at all.” He said.
I looked at him, feeling bad out of a sudden.
“I…” I muttered.
He opened his arms wide and pouted at me. I stepped over the mess and went towards him, sinking into his arms.
“I’m sorry.” I apologized, burying my face into his chest.
“No, silly. I am sorry.” He said, smoothing my hair.
“You made it pass day one. Good job.” I said, smiling at him.
He kissed me on my lips and pinched my nose.
“Ouch.” I poked him.
“I’m hungry.” He said.
“I’ll cook! What do you want?” I asked excitedly.
I was pretty afraid that he would not have the appetite to eat.
“You.” He said seductively.
I punched his stomach and got off the bed.
“Arghhhh~” He hugged his stomach, falling back onto the bed.
“What do you want to eat!?” I smacked his .
“YOU!!!” He shouted back.
I glared at him.
“Okay, okay. Anything. Just something simple will do.” He said.
“Then go wash up while I cook.” I said.
He nodded, getting off the bed.
“Wait!” I said, putting my slippers on his feet.
He stared at my bunny bedroom slippers, and then back at me.
“Hee~ There are glass bits around. I don’t want you to hurt your feet. Just… wear it for now.” I said.
I yelped when he carried me up in bridal style without warning.
“What are you doing!?” I stared at him in shock.
“I don’t want you to hurt your feet too.” He said, carrying me out of the room.
“Don’t take them off!” I said as he let me down.
“I wouldn’t! You really enjoy making me look stupid.” He said.
“HOW ARE BUNNY SLIPPERS STUPID!? GOSH! I wouldn’t lend my bunny slippers to anyone else! It’s because it’s you!” I said.
“Wow~ Thank you!” He said.
“Welcome!” I grinned.
“Go wash up, stinky fellow!” I squashed his cheeks.
He stuck out his tongue at me.
“Lionny!” He called out just as I was heading down.
“What!?” I yelled on purpose.
“Am I… allowed down?” He asked, biting his lower lip.
As much as I want to say yes, I really had no idea.
“It’s okay. I’ll stay in.” He said, sounding upset.
“Junroro, I…” He cut me off before I could finish.
“I understand, Lionny. I really do.” He smiled before going back into the room.
I went back to the room after making breakfast. He was sitting on the edge of our bed, legs crossed and spacing out.
“Why are you still in the slippers!?” I laughed.
He shrugged his shoulders, giggling as well.
“But well, I think they make you manlier.” I .
“Really? Should I get myself a pair too?” He asked.
“You can have this.” I said.
“Why, thank you!” He helped me with the food.
“Smells good.” He said.
“Of course. Who did you think cooked it?” I said, handing him his cup of coffee.
We ate a simple breakfast of toast, sunny side-up, bacon and sausage in bed, surrounded by the mess.
“I feel like I am on some sort of boat, and all these floating around are broken furniture from the hurricane or whatever disaster that came.” He said.
I laughed at his statement.
“Well, aren’t we lucky to have survive?” I asked, feeding him.
“So lucky.” He chuckled.
“Do they… know?” He asked suddenly.
“What?” I asked, mouth stuffed with bread.
“Why did you have to learn Seungho hyung’s eating habit!?” He laughed.
“I did not! I just happened to be chewing!” I defended myself.
He nodded with a stupid smile that says ‘yeah, right’.
“Do they know?” He asked again.
“Know what?” I asked, a little annoyed at the fact he was not being clear.
“About me… and… you know.” He muttered.
I shook my head.
“You didn’t tell them?” He asked, sounding a little surprise.
“Why? Should I tell them?” I asked.
“Not that. I just thought…” He mumbled.
“Thought what? That I would tell the whole world about it?” I asked.
“I didn’t mean it that way.” He said softly.
“I am not angry or anything.” I said, not wanting him to misunderstand my tone of voice.
“I know. Of course I know. How can I be your husband if I don’t understand you.” He smiled, playing with my hair.
“But I was angry thou. When I saw you that day.” I said.
He nodded.
“You knew? You were stoned.” I said.
“I was stoned, but that does not mean I did not feel your slap.” He said.
I kissed his cheek. I knew I slapped him hard that day.
“But my anger did not last long.” I said.
“You were more of disappointed, weren’t you?” He said.
“Aye~ Stop trying to read my mind.” I said.
“It’s not my fault I know you well.” He said.
“Whatever~” I punched his arm playfully.
“Are you going out?” He asked.
“Nope. But I have stuff to do.” I said.
“Ouh~” He nodded.
“I’ll still be in the house. You can call for me.” I said.
“I’ll wash the plates. Go do your stuff.” He said, carrying me up again.
“I have slippers!” I laughed.
“They are not bunny slippers.” He said.
“So?” I asked.
“They are not powerful enough to fight those glass bits.” He said.
“What kind of nonsense is this!?” I laughed.
“It’s not nonsense! It’s logic! Junhyung’s logic.” He said proudly.
“Right~” I said. I secretly enjoy being carried by him thou.
“Don’t work too hard.” He said, letting me down.
I nodded, kissing him on his cheek. I looked up at him when he did not let go of my hand.
“I am not going to Antarctica to work, you know.” I said.
“I know. But it feels like once you close this door, I… I am somewhere else, separated from you.” He said, staring at the doorknob.
My heart ached at his statement.
“I could work in the room.” I muttered.
He shook his head and let go of my hand.
“I deserve this.” He said.
“This isn’t a punishment, Junhyung.” I said.
“I just want you to get better.” I continued.
He nodded, shutting the door. I walked off, leaving the door unlock. I turned when I heard the door open. He had locked it from the outside himself and slammed it shut.
Why does it feel like he is shutting me out?
***
I was preoccupied by work that I had forgotten all about Junhyung. I almost dropped my cup of tea when I realize it was already 10PM. I have not given him any food ever since breakfast at 9AM. He must be so hungry, but why did he not call for me?
“Idiot. Idiot. Idiot.” I scolded myself as I saved my work and shut down my laptop before hurrying to our room.
“Junroro, I’m so sorry! I forgot about you! I was so preoccupied by work I…” I stopped talking when I saw him curled up on the bed, looking horrible.
“Junroro?” I called out as I walked over to him.
“I kept calling for you. Why didn’t you respond to me?” He asked in a terribly weak voice. He glared at me angrily, tears streaming down his cheeks.
