Chapter 54 – Be mine forever?

“Hyunnie, where are we going?” Dara asked sweetly as TOP just drove his car, who knows where. Both of them were in still there toga, their hats thrown at the back of the driver’s seat.

“Why don’t you take off your toga babe?” he suggested as he glanced at her.

“If I take this off, will you tell me where will be heading to?”

“Hmm, no.”

“But Hyunnie~” she whined and pouted at him.

He chuckled and poked her pout. “Trust me babe, you’ll like the place.”

“You’re still not telling me where” she said.

TOP stopped the car as the traffic light hit green. He turned to Dara and interlaced his hand to hers.

“Babe, I love you hmm?” he murmured and kissed their hands.

Dara looked at him and smiled. “I love you too Hyunnie” she adjusted her seatbelt and leaned in for a kiss.

He smiled and caressed her face. “You won’t ask me anymore about our destination?”

“As much as I want to but no, I won’t bug you now” she smiled.

“Good” he pecked her lips once more before taking off his toga and settled back on his seat; great timing since the red light flashed.

They arrived in a fancy restaurant and Dara was star struck by the place.

“Ohmygosh” was the only word that she came up with.

TOP smirked and slung his arm around her shoulder. “Love it?”

It was still afternoon yet the place were full of candle-lit tables. The lights emitting and shining the place were a mixture of yellow and orange. She didn’t realize until yet that behind the restaurant was a lake. Ceiling to floor curtains were a shade of maroon hanging fancily on the window glass.

Dara was thankful that what she wore isn’t under-dress or over-dress. She looked up at TOP and clung her hand on his arm.

“Babe, this is wonderful” she gushed and roamed her eyes around.

“I’m glad that you love it babe” TOP said and kissed her hair.

One waiter approached them and led the way to their table that TOP reserved two days ago. They were settled beside the floor-to-ceiling window. Dara couldn’t help but to admire the lake outside that started to reflect the yellow orange sun.

“Did you reserve this for us?” she asked as she tore her gaze from the lake and stared at him in the eye.

He smiled sheepishly and rubbed his nape. “Yes babe.”

Dara smiled sweetly at him and reached for his hand. “Thank you Hyunnie, this is so wonderful.”

“Let’s enjoy this day” he raised her hand and kissed it.

“Hyung, I can’t see anything!!!” Seungri whined as he pushed Taeyang and Jiyong out of his way.

“Maknae, shush” Daesung commented.

“But I can’t see anything, either Dara noona or TOP hyung” he frowned and stomped his feet.

Jiyong, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri were stalking the couple. They knew TOP’s plan and they decided to sneak on them, without him knowing. They were at the bushes nearby ducking their heads down.

“Look at them! They’re so sweet” Jiyong said as he saw Dara reaching TOP’s hand and the latter kissed it.

“Jiyong hyung let me see, please?” Seungri begged.

Jiyong turned to him and rolled his eyes. “There you go maknae” he side-stepped to make a way for the maknae. “Be sure to shut your mouth close or else that security guard will throw our asses out” he warned the big mouth Seungri.

Seungri didn’t even turn to look at Jiyong and just nodded his head endlessly to the leader.

“What are your plans for college babe?” TOP asked. He glanced up at her and back to his food.

“I still haven’t figured it out. I wanted to study fashion but you know both of us are the successor so maybe I’ll go with business management then” she said. “How about you Hyunnie?”

“I’ll be on business management babe. When dad heard it, he was so happy. Guess I made the right decision” he stuffed his mouth some food and chewed it.

Dara tapped the fork on her lips, “Hyunnie, why don’t I study business management too? In that we can see each other often and who knows both of us will be classmates if ever we’re on the same school.”

TOP’s lips twitched into smile. “I will be very happy with that babe.”

“I’ll tell mom and dad about it, I bet they would be at their happiest” she giggled.

Both of them continued on eating and talking every now and then. Dara would laugh at TOP’s failed aegyo and lame jokes. Whenever she would laugh, giggle, smile, frown or pout, he couldn’t help but to fall for her even more, if that’s even possible. She is viral. Whatever she do, whatever her mood mirrors his. If she’s happy, he will be; if she’s sad, he will be. That’s how important she is to him. He can’t even imagine life without her.

In the middle of eating their dessert, TOP abruptly stood up from his seat. “Excuse me babe.”

“Where are you going Hyunnie?” Dara asked.

“Men’s washroom” he frowned at her that made Dara giggled.

“Okay, have a safe trip” she joked. TOP chuckled; he strode few steps to her and kissed her forehead before walking to the restroom.

It’s been five minutes since TOP was gone and Dara started to get worried. A waiter rang a bell that caught the attention of everyone.

“Excuse me everyone” he called out. Dara and the rest of the costumer turned their attention to him.

“You are all requested and invited to go the lake for there is a special event that will happen. Thank you” he put the bell back on the counter and walked to the door, probably the way to the lake.

Dara was hesitant to leave because TOP was still not there. She wanted to go with him there.

Where is he?

“Ma’am, you are requested by the host of the event to go there. You are the VIP guest” a pretty lady told her as everyone started to walk to the lake.

“I’m a VIP guest?” she pointed herself.

“Yes ma’am” the lady nodded.

“But my boyfriend isn’t here yet” she looked around but there was no sign of TOP arriving.

“We’ll just inform him ma’am, when he arrive back” the lady assured her. So, she nodded and walked with the lady leading her.

When she reached the crowd, everyone was smiling and giving way to her. Confused why, she just smiled back at them and walked towards the front, after all she’s the VIP guest right?

Then she knew the reason why the crowd was giving way to her, it’s because her face was in the tarpaulin hanging between the two trees. Her eyes rounded, shock ran through her body.

Why am I there?

Music started to play around the premises. Cute kids, girls and boys, appeared in line with a balloon in their hands.

The first kid walked up to her and gave her a “S” letter balloon, followed by “A”, then “R”, “A”, “N”,”G”, “H”, “A” and lastly, as the little boy who have a turquoise blue hair kissed her cheek, he gave her the last letter, “E”.

The crowd went saying, “Ohh, saranghae” the giggled and smiled. That’s the time realized the word. Clues started to flood her mind.

The turquoise hair kid represents TOP.

The balloons told her, “I Love You” which only TOP would say to her.

TOP wasn’t her because he’s somewhere behind those trees, or everywhere.

He made this for her.

She smiled and tears sprung in her eyes.

“Saranghae” voiced over-heard. “Saranghae baby!”

She recognized that voice, that familiar voice.

Hyunnie!

TOP appeared, Dara knows where, with a bouquet of plastic roses. “Sorry I made you worried there” he said and walked to her.

The crowd just watched them full of love in their faces. They find it cute, lovely and romantic.

“For you” he gave her the roses and reached for her hand.

Dara smiled goofily when she saw that it’s not real flowers.

“I know you have nasal allergy, so yeah” he confessed.

“Thank you Hyunnie” she squeezed his hand and smiled.

“Stay here” he instructed and he walked to the center.

Dara just watch him, nervous and happy at the same time.

“Dara baby” he started, “I know it’s still early for this. I don’t know what to say, I can’t even make a 500 words essay on how much I love you. All I know is that you’re the love of my life. We still have long way to go, challenges to encounter but I can’t wait to say this to you.”

“I know we’re still young but babe,” he bent in one knee, fish something in his back pocket and asked, “Be mine forever?” He smiled at her, his eyes reflects everything he felt right now; his love for her.

He opened the velvet box and revealed a diamond ring.

Dara was glued on her spot. She didn’t expect this. She thought he’s just gonna confess his love to her or sing for her, but proposing? This is way beyond her imagination could handle.

It’s too much but she knew herself that she wanted to be with him … forever.

“Yes, I’ll be yours forever babe” she said, almost a whisper.

People around them clapped and cheered but there were ‘some group’ that cheered the most. Both Dara and TOP heard this ‘group’ and they can’t help but to laugh.

He walked to her and reached for her right hand, “I love you very much Dara” he said before inserting the ring on her finger.

“I love you more and more Seunghyun” she replied and kissed him when TOP leaned in.

“Dara and Seunghyun! Dara and Seunghyun! Dara and Seunghyun!” The four idiots walked to them cheering.

“Congratulations!!!” Seungri and Daesung popped confetti.

“When’s the wedding?”

“Make cute babies, neh?”

Dara only laughed at their statements while TOP whacked both Seungri’s and Daesung’s heads.
