It Should Have Been Me
~~~Narrator’s POV~~~
Tonight was the ball. Kim Jaejoong was in his room looking at the mirror, he was dressed head to toe in Armani. But, the prince of the business world looked nervous, why? Sure, he has been in front of many top investors and businessmen, he has presented tons of billion dollar proposals and projects, what could make him nervous.
Jung Minyoung.
He straightened his tie and checked his reflection once again.
“Believe me, it’s in our genes, we’re not bad looking.” Jaehee entered wearing sweats.
“Why are you not dressed?”
“I will later, Chun oppa’s picking me up, you? Waa, oppa, you look great!” She said as she got a pair of Cartier cuff links and placed it on Jae’s cuffs.
“Don’t be late, okay?”
Jaehee nodded as her brother patted her head.
“Bye, oppa, see you later.” She said as Jaejoong left the room.
“First time seeing my brother look nervous, it feels good, I should thank my bestfriend for this.” Jaehee muttered with a smile as she went to her room to dress.
Your POV
I was looking at myself in the mirror, I decided to play it down a bit, I was wearing a simple white dress from Phillip Lim.
“This will do.” I said as I brushed my hair.
“Minyoing-ah?” I heard my brother enter my room.
He was dressed in a gray Versace suit.
“I’m off picking Sekyung up, will Jaejoong pick you up?”
“Yes, oppa.”
“You look great, dongsaeng.” He said.
“Thanks, you too oppa.”I smiled.
Sekyung, again. I sighed inwardly.
“Then, I’ll see you later.”
He left the room.
Must think of something to get rid of Sekyung.
I was about to stand when butler Jang entered.
“Young Miss, young master Kim is waiting downstairs.”
I got a bit nervous, I checked my reflection once before going down.
I saw him standing in our living room.
And he looked drop dead gorgeous in a sleek black suit.
“Good evening, Minyoung.”
Jaejoong’s POV
Good evening was all I could say, because she looked so….ethereal.
“You look beautiful.” I lamely added. She smiled.
“Thank you, you look great too.”
“Then, let’s go?” I asked as I offered her my arm.
“Yep, time to get ‘em reporters.” She joked.
Somehow, what she said made me realize that everything was just an act,and it made me sad, a bit. I shook the thought off and smiled at her.
Jaehee’s POV
One of the maids called me from the room, saying that Chun oppa was already downstairs.
“Oppa, you look greaaat~!” I said as I hugged him.
“You too cousin, now let’s go, I don’t want to be late.”
“Me too, Jaejoong oppa warned me already.” I said as we made our way out.
“But, it’s cool being fashionably late, right?”
“Whatever, Park Yoochun.” I rolled my eyes.
We arrived at the venue. As soon as we got off the car, flashes attacked my eyes.
“Here we go again, kiddo.” Yoochun oppa whispered as I took his arm.
“Miss Kim! Who are you wearing?....It’s the cousins!.....Mr. Park, how true is your scandal with Kim Haneul?”
Now , I had to laugh at that one.
“Aigoo.” I said as we got in the venue.
“Ya, it’s not true.” Yoochun oppa said
“Like I’d believe you.” I said as I turned my head to see who was coming in next.
To my surprise, it was Sekyung and Yunho oppa entered looking all couple-y. I turned away.
Why am I like this? Why do I feel hurt? Jaehee-yah, why are you being like this?!
Yunho’s POV
As soon as we entered, I saw Jaehee and Yoochun talking, they looked they were both having a good time. I felt something tug in my chest.
Am I jealous?
“Oppa, let’s go in.” Sekyung beamed at me.
But, Jaehee looked so gorgeous.
“Okay.” I said as I looked away as Jaehee held onto Yoochun’s arm.
Yunho, don’t deny it. You have feelings for her.
