It's Easy

It Should Have Been Me

~~~Narrator’s POV~~~
Jaejoong picked up the newspaper that fell on the carpeted floor of his father’s office.
Want to know what was on the front page and written in big red bold letters?
It was a photo of the young master Kim and the Jung heiress, and…..
Recently engaged Kim Jaejoong secretly dating the Jung heiress?!
“Father, it’s not like that, we just had coffee~”
“I don’t care what you two had; I just want you to fix this mess!”
Jaehee’s POV
I was looking at my brother’s and dad’s exchange. I honestly am speechless.
“I don’t care what you two had; I just want you to fix this mess!”
“Father, i…cant get engaged with Miss Hwang.”
“What are you saying?! This article even makes me shameful to face them! And you tell me this?!”
“I’m sorry father, but I want to cancel it.” Jae oppa walked out of the room.
“Ya, you, you!” Father stood up.
“Jaehee-yah, what did you do with your brother?” Appa asked me.
“Appa, you should have listened to me.” I said as I crossed my legs and played with my Ipad.
“What do you mean?”
“I told you, Jae oppa is dating someone of importance.” I said as I glanced at the photo on the paper.
I felt a smirk form on my lips as I step out of the office.
Oh, Kim Jaejoong, what have you gotten yourself into?
He likes Minyoung, I can feel it.
Your POV
I looked at the newapaper.
Oh no, sh*t no.
“Oppa, it’s not like that~”
“God, Jung Minyoung, what were you thinking?! You know full well that he just got engaged and the two of you are both public figures.”
“What? Oppa, what are you saying? Is it bad just to have coffee with my best friend’s brother?” I asked incredulously.
“You should have at least thought~”
Father entered the office.
“My office, now.” He said as he left.
I am so dead.
~~~Narrator’s POV~~~

The CEO of Kim Co. was seen walking out of the company. He got in his black Jaguar and drove away. His face looked so frustrated and low. He got his cellphone and texted his sister.

I’ll be out for a while, don’t call. –Jaejoong Oppa

Okay, oppa, don’t worry, I’m sure everything will be fine. –Jaehee

Meanwhile at the Jung Co. building……..

“Jung Minyoung, would you like to explain yourself?” Minyoung’s father asked pointedly at her.

“Appa, we just had coffee together, nothing else.”

“You haven’t been attending any of the meetings, how would you get to know Kim Co.’s CEO?”

“About that, he’s the older brother of my best friend.”

“Best friend?”

“Kim Jaehee, she’s been my pal since second grade~”

“That is not the point! This man is engaged! And you have a scandal with him!” He yelled. Minyoung leaned back.

“Appa, it’s not a scandal! We just had a chat together~”

“I don’t know what to do with you anymore Minyoung, you’re out of control.”

“I’m out of control? I did nothing wrong~!” Minyoung walked out of the room with tears on her eyes.

Your POV

I walked out of the building and ran to my car.

Why is he blaming me? We just had coffee together! Nothing was wrong about that!

I drove my Audi away from the compound.

Unknowingly, I ended up in my old school, Shinhwa High. I felt a smile form on my lips as I looked at the familiar grounds. I took a walk around the campus, good thing it was a weekend, no students. I wonder what’s happening in the school right now. I put my earphones on and sat on one of the benches.

Then, I felt sudden warmth beside me.

“I always knew you’d be here.”

“Jaehee-yah, I…we~”

“I know. No need to explain.”

I smiled at her.

“It , though, how the media and the public could speculate things.” She said as she played with the flowers beside her.

“Yes, I feel bad for Miss Hwang and your brother.”

“Don’t feel bad for Hwang Sooyeon.”

“Huh?”

“I don’t like her.” She grinned.

“Well, I think she’s~”

I saw a familiar tall figure walking towards us.

“Speak of the devil.” Jaehee muttered.

I saw him looked up, he seems shocked to see us.

“Oh, hello.” He greeted.

“I guess, you two need to talk, imma take my leave now~” Jaehee stood up.

“No, Jaehee, stay. I need your help.” Jaejoong looked at her.

“Okay…” Jaehee looked confused.

“So, what?”

The three of us where sitting down with a round table between us and the newspaper on top.

“I want to get rid of this.” I simply stated.

“I want to not get engaged and get rid of that.”

We all looked at Jaehee.

“What? I’m not the newspaper publisher.”  She said.

“I’m sorry, If I dragged you into this Minyoung, I~”

“It’s okay, we did nothing wrong.” I smiled at him.

“So let’s set things straight. Oppa, you don’t want to get engaged to Sooyeon, while you. My friend, would like to clean you name and stop all the blind dates, am I right?”

“How did you know about the blind dates?” I asked.

“I just know, anyway, am I right?”

Both of us nodded.

“It’s easy.” Jaehee shrugged.

“What?” Jaejoong pried.

“It’s like, laid before you guys, the solution to your problem.”

“Huh?” I asked.

“You two will pretend to date, this will eliminate the blind dates and Sooyeon, and clean your names as well as the companies and it will kill the scandal.” Jaehee sat back and crossed her legs.

Jaejoong and I stared at each other.
