I was shipping my cappucino as I checked on the story boards that submitted to me by my juniors for the school project. I was appointed by the professors to be in charged to lead them making the project. But somehow, it brought back memories to me. The memories of my first meeting with AeGi.

I was met her because of the same project. She was so young back then and naively charming. She was smart. Her instuition and talents toward arts were amazing. She had made me amazed. She was an art student. But she was also talented on Music, Dance, Drama and Writing.

But she had matured. Doojoon had made her matured. And also broken her heart.

Well, they were good couple actually. They had never failed to make others jealous with them. But I must admit that they were good together.

I knew Doojoon since long so I knew him well. So I could feel his had changed when he was with Aegi. Aegi had changed him for good, to be someone that better than the old Doojoon that I knew back on our High School. They were filling each other's very well.

At that time, I couldn't help but to feel jealous at them. I might be hanging out with them. I laughed with them. I talked with them. But deep down inside, I was suppressed my feeling toward AeGi. I loved her but I kept my feeling from her. Doojoon had never made her cried. And I knew that he loved her so much. He had won her heart fair enough. So I decided to let my feeling to AeGi away even though it was hurting me inside.

But then, I started to notice that they were being drifted apart.

I didn't know when it all started. Actually AeGi and Doojoon were rarely being seen together at the public, especially when we started to have our part time jobs for applying our studies. Doojoon worked as a assistant producer for variety show department on a TV station while I worked at a part time staff on a film production house. AeGi was stuck behind with her arts. But so far, they were fine. I knew they always hung around together outside the campus or on the art/dance/music studio. So I didn't notice any changes from them.

Then AeGi started to be rarely seen on the campus. I also saw a man picking her up with his car. I heard rumors that she got recruited by an Art Foundation. Probably it was true since I heard that she was holding exhibitions after that. And finally I heard that she went to France for representing South Korea on International Youth Art Exhibition.

I couldn't help but to feel proud of her...

As a friend.

But when she came back, that was when I started to notice that Doojoon and AeGi were drifting apart.

Hyunseung once asked where Aegi was and why she didn't hang around with us anymore to Doojoon. But Doojoon quickly put on his stern face and dropped his gaze as he said that he didn't know where Aegi was or may be she was busy. I felt strange and surprised by that. If my eyes and ears didn't deceive me, I saw and heard that the old heartless Doojoon had return. So I decided to look for Aegi for an explanation.

I tried to look for her one day... Two days... Three days... A week. But she was nowhere to be found. I guessed she was busy. I saw her around the school. But when I wanted to talk with her, she had disappeared.

And finally, I saw her alone at the art studio.

She was sitting on the floor while hugging her knees. He head was buried on her arms. And if my ears didn't deceived me, I thought I heard her sobbing. So I came to her.

Yes, she was crying. I could hear her cry as I walked closer. But why did she cried?

I stopped beside her and she didn't pick her head up. It seemed that she didn't realize that she wasn't alone. I bent down my body as I leaned forward and touched her arm slightly.

"Aegi." I called her softly.

She flinched as she felt my hand touching her arm. She rose her head and I could see tear's stream on her cheek. My heart sank.

Why did she cried?

"Are you alright?" I asked her as I kneeled beside her.

She sobbed and tucked her falling bang back to her ear. She turned her face to me.

"I'm fine." She said with a smile on her face.

But her eyes said the otherwise. She was sad. I didn't sure the reason why but she was sad.

I saw another tear falling to her cheek. I cupped her cheek and wipe the tear with my thumb.

Then I thought about something that might be the reason.

"Are you breaking up with Doojoon?"

At that time she answered me that she didn't know, that they might be breaking up. But I've saw the signs. They were indeed breaking up. So I thought that I might have the chance to get her heart. That was why I kept accompanying her.

But she had never been the same. Her smile was not the same. She smiled with bitterness on her eyes. She was hurt too deep.

Aegi had never told me why she was breaking up with Doojoon. She said that it might have been her fault. But she didn't tell me why she thought it was her fault.

But my heart started to love her again. I wanted her to be happy. I wanted to make her happy...

Even if my own best friend was my biggest obstacle.

I rose my gaze from the story board to the cafe door then looked at my watch. Actually I had appointment with Aegi on the venue. But she hadn't come yet. I looked at my phone yet no message from her. I exhaled.

Was she forget about our appointment today?

I knew that she would have a competition soon. So she might drown her self with painting until she lost the track of time. Aegi was so busy with making new paintings lately. She had another exhibition before and some of her paintings sold very well. Jang Jaehyung, her sponsor, seemed very pleased with her.

I took my phone and decided to call her. I dialled her number and waited for her to pick up the phone. After few tones, she picked up the phone. I thought she wouldn't pick up after the third tone. But she picked it up. My smile bloomed as I heard her voice saying, "Hello?"

"It's me, Yang SeungHo."

"Yes, I know."

"You're not forgetting our date today, are you?" I joked at her.

She chuckled. "No, I'm not. I'll be there soon. I just need to finish this painting. Just a little bit more."

Ah, just as I thought. She was painting again. But I just could smile.

"Alright. I'll be waiting then."

"Uhn, I'll be there in 10 minutes. I'll hang up first. I need to wash my brush."

"Okay."

Then I could hear her cut off the line from the other side. I just smiled and put down my phone as I hung up the phone.

I didn’t know if she might notice that I mentioned ‘date’ instead of ‘appointment’. I knew AeGi liked to joke so I thought she took my words as a joke. But my heart fluttered by the word ‘date’.

Too bad she hadn’t agreed to start a relationship with me yet.

I guessed Yoon Doojoon was still inside her heart. But I determined to make her forgetting about Doojoon and stole her heart. I wanted to make her happy.

Because…

I loved Aegi.

Ah, Yoseob-Sora are the couple for Kyuri's Triology: So Sweet So Simple, Bitter Love Complicated Life and Bittersweet Heart. And I think Kyuri will add another chapter for the sequel~ But I don't know.
