Henry’s Apartment

“Hey, it’s been too long,” Henry said opening the door and pulling me into a hug.

“It’s been like four days,” I say laughing at him.

“That’s still too long. Krys I’m really glad you guys could come over,” he said hugging Krystal. 

“Us too, it was so nice of you to invite us,” she said.

“No problem. Wow you guys look...”

I waved at him to stop what he was going to say from behind Krystal’s back. He took a long look at what we were wearing compared to how causally he was dressed.

“You look-”

“Krystal! You're here!” Lauren screamed running over to Krystal from across the room.

Man that was close. I decided to pull Henry into the kitchen while the girls were reuniting.

“What was that?” I asked him.

“I’m sorry I just wasn’t expecting you guys to be so dressed up. I’m wearing basketball shorts,” he said smiling.

“Trust me that’s what I wish I was wearing. But she wanted to look nice, and I’m not really disagreeing with her on anything at the moment.”

“Seriously how is she?”

“She is doing better everyday. She is going to sleep easier too, I just don’t want her to freak out when we have to go to the airport again.”

“Well let’s make sure she has a lot of fun tonight.”

“That’s what I’m hoping for.”

“Am you got away without a hug,” Lauren said walking into the kitchen with Krystal.

“Sorry,” I said giving her a hug.

“What were you guys talking about?” Krystal asked standing next to me and looping her arm through mine.

“Just our performance at Music Bank tomorrow?” I answered.

“You know since you guys started performing '1-4-3' all I see the fans talk about is how perfect you guys are for each other and that you would make such a cute couple,” Lauren said leaning into Henry.

“Ew gross, I don’t want to think about that,” Henry said making a sour face, “No offense Amber.”

“None taken, you're not exactly my ideal type either,” I said glancing at Krystal.

“Can’t anyone just be friends anymore?” Henry asked, “It’s like if you look at someone from across the room you are automatically in love.

“Tell me about it, you don’t wanna know how many different people the fans want to see Amber with-”

“Ok who’s hungry? Is it ready Henry?” I asked trying to get out of a sore topic.

“Yeah almost. Help me set the table?” he asked.

“Sure,” I said moving to help him.

“Let’s go talk some more in the living room,” Lauren said taking Krystal’s hand.

As I begin putting the silverware at the place mats around the square table I can’t keep my eyes off Krystal and Lauren sitting on the couch. Lauren has truly been a blessing since she came into our lives. Krystal and I have been dating for about three years and Henry and Lauren only for a year and a half. Lauren is currently a student at a local music university studying music theory and composition. Henry met her when he decided to take some extra music classes there, in order to improve his songwriting.
