Go Away/ Don't Go Away

Go Away/ Don't Go Away

One Last Chance

I trembled, unsure what to do.

My hand wanted to reach out for the rose he was giving me.

My mind, though, forbade me to.

I looked at him and focused my eyes on his.

For a moment, our eyes locked.

I’m scared.

I don’t know if I could fully give my heart again.

What if you leave me again?

What if you give up on me again?

What if you break my heart again?

My hand reached out to hers, offering the rose that symbolized my intention to win her back.

I saw her hesitating, probably weighing the repercussion her action will bring.

I looked at her and focused my eyes on hers.

For a moment, our eyes locked.

There’s nothing to be scared of anymore.

Please let me love you again.

I will be by your side always.

I will never give you up no matter what.

I will mend your heart that I have broken.

I read his eyes. It was as if my questions were being answered one by one.

People say that Kwon Jiyong’s eyes reflect the depths of his soul.

With every song he performs, his eyes betray the true emotions he’s feeling.

At that moment, standing in front of me, his eyes were revealing the silent promises of his heart.

In front of me, he looked vulnerable, as if bearing his soul.

It was as if my acceptance of the rose will seal our fate forever.

Jiyong, what should I do?

I felt my hands trembled once more as they ached to reach for him.

How I wanted to reach for his hand.

To feel the warmth of it again.

How I wanted wrap my frail body in his protective hug

and find sanctuary in there.

But a part of my heart pulls me back just as I was about to reach for him.

A part of it prevents me from giving my all again.

A part of my heart whispers a different name.

Khun Khun…

He noticed my hesitation and retreated his hand. He bowed his head, avoiding my gaze.

“I’m not rushing you…” His voice almost was trailing off, almost cracking from the tears that were threatening to fall any minute. “I understand that what I’m asking for is not easy.”

We have been looking at each others’ eyes for more than I could handle. Seeing the hurt and disappointment in his eyes were tearing my heart like a glass shattering in millions of pieces.

I saw him took a deep breath and looked at me once again. He looked at me with those piercing eyes as if seeking to own me.

“I’ll start pursuing you again. I’ll court you again.” His voice was determined, though I heard a hint of a plea.

“Jiyong…” My voice trailed of. I shook my head.

I could not deny that a part of my heart still belonged to him. A part of it have always stayed in love with him, even when he had hurt me and left me wounded.

But I also could not deny that another part of my heart is breaking free, being pulled away by another person.

“I’m not asking you to take me back. I’m not forcing you to be my girlfriend again.” He continued. His voice breaking into a plea, as if begging me for just a simple request.

“All I’m asking is for another chance…” He paused as he trembled, fighting back his tears.

“I just want another chance to show you how much I love you.”

“You see, D, I tried.” The tears were about to fall now.

“I tried so hard to forget you, to not think of you.”

I could see a single tear escaping from his eye.

“But I couldn’t..” His voice breaking down.

“I couldn’t do it, D.”

He finally let the tears fall as he covered his face, breaking down like a little boy.

And that broke the wall I have been guarding with my dear life.

I ran to him and held him in my arms, cradling him and shielding him from all the hurt the world may throw at him.

As his arms wrapped around my waist, holding me tight as if not wanting to let me go, I whispered gently to his ears the words I have wanted to tell him for a long time.

“I want to give you another chance, Ji.”

I felt him heaved a sigh.

“It’s just that I’m confused right now.”

I felt him nod against neck, his tears spilling on my shirt.

“I understand.”

He answered softly. I caressed his back, comforting him.

“Kansahamnida.”

I told him as we stayed close to each other.

He took a deep breath again.

“There’s just one wish I hope you could grant me.”

He said, his voice full of tenderness.

“Just for today…”

He held me even tighter, to the point that I found it hard to breath.

“… please be mine…”

I leaned my head on his and gently nodded, granting him his only wish.

I looked up at him and sighed at the sight I was beholding.

Tabi was peacefully sleeping, his head titlted towards me.

I looked around and noticed the park almost empty.

I smiled. I liked it that way.

It was as if we were the only persons owning the beautiful scenery surrounding us.

We had our own world.

I gently poked his chin, waking him up in the process.

He looked at me and smiled brightly. “Good morning, Hamster.” He greeted me sweetly.

I giggled at his greeting.

“Ya!” I punched him gently. “I thought you will teach me how to rap?”

He frowned a little.

“Right. I completely forgot.” He tousled his hair. He looked so y doing that.

Waaaa, Bomtaro! What the heck were you thinking?? It’s so early in the morning for such thoughts. Haayyyssst!

Luckily, he didn’t seem to notice my sudden embarrassment and instead, pulled out a piece of paper.

I immediately found interest in the piece of paper he was holding. I took a peek at it but Tabi blocked my view.

“Haaaayysst! Why are you so snoopy so early in the morning??” Tabi teased me.

I groaned and crossed my arms.

“Ya! Why the need to be secretive?” I pouted.

“This is nothing, Bomtaro.” He informed me. “Just a piece of paper with notes for the song.”

He was referring to Don’t Go Home.

I leaned back, still with my arms crossed over my chest.

He studied the piece of paper carefully. He looked so serious that I couldn’t help but be amused by his sight.

My eyes fell on the paper he was holding. I caught a faint sight of drawing of what seemed to be a sleeping girl.

My curiosity took the best of me so I snatched the paper away from him and studied the drawing at the back.

“YA! GIVE THAT BACK TO ME!” He was yelling now. The piece and serenity in the garden was momentarily disrupted by his loud baritone voice.

I continued studying the drawing. The girl… it looked oddly familiar. It looked a lot like…

“Me!” I gasped. I shot him a shocked look. He looked at me as well with his intense eyes.

“What you??” He exclaimed. “Don’t be full of yourself, Hamster!” He snickered.

I smirked at him.

“This looks definitely like me!” I insisted. “Were you the one who drew this ha, Tabi?” I winked at him.

“Do you have a thing for noona?” I giggled.

“Ya! That was probably Seungri who drew that, Hamster!” He avoided my eyes.

I leaned closer, making him feel more uncomfortable.

“Is Seungri here with us right now?” I asked him. He looked at me, confused.

“Because surely, this view can only be seen here in Shiba Park.” I announced triumphantly, pointing to the drawing that showed me sleeping while sitting on a bench, being surrounded by a breath-taking view.

I groaned in frustration. Park Bom, you're driving me crazy!

“ARASSO!” I exclaimed. “I drew it while you were sleeping!” I confessed.

“I was bored.” I added.

Bom eyes grew tender as she leaned back and admired the drawing.

“It’s very good, Tabi.” I told him softly. “I like it.”

She smiled sweetly.

I looked at her and heaved a sigh.

I like you too.

Thirty minutes had passed since we left the café. Jiyong told me that he planned to take me somewhere.

He said that he wanted me to see it for a long time now.

We stopped at an amusement park. I’ve never heard of this place before.

Yomiuri Land.

He took my hand and gently pulled me to follow him. Even through his gentleness, I could feel the excitement he was feeling,

like a little child rushing to enter a wonderland.

I gasped in admiration. It truly was a wonderland!

I looked around and saw several colorful rides.

I saw a train, a flying robot, a coaster, a dragon coaster.

I paused at the last ride.

Dragon coaster. I giggled a little while stealing a glance at Jiyong.

An idea formed in my head.

Jiyong noticed my giggles and looked at me curiously.

“Why are you getting giddy all of a sudden?” He asked. I shook my head.

“Aniyo!” I answered with a smile. He just shrugged.

“Uhm, Jiyongie…” I said, my expression turning serious. He looked at me and nodded, urging me to continue.

“Can I ride your coaster?” I asked, giving him a shy smile.

His eyes widened at my suggestion.

I pointed towards the Dragon Coaster, stifling a laugh.

Upon seeing the sign, his face turned red as his favorite apple.

I couldn’t contain my laughter anymore.

“Aigoo!!” I exclaimed while laughing my off.

“You should have seen your face!” He pouted. “It was so hilarious I couldn’t take my camera out to take your picture.”

I continued laughing.

He stomped his feet like a little kid.

“Haaaayssst, Dara-yah!” He exclaimed. I laughed even more seeing him stomp his feet like a little kid.

He looked at me for awhile then broke into fits of laughter as well.

She pulled me towards the Dragon Coaster. I groaned as I saw that mostly kids rode in that thing but I agreed nonetheless.

All throughout the ride, Dara was waving her hand in the air, to think that the ride was not even going in fast pace.

I couldn’t help but laugh at her dorkiness.

She really hasn’t changed. Such a dork!

After riding the Dragon Coaster, she dragged me towards the Frog Hopper. I groaned again as I saw a bunch of kids were the only ones with us on the ride.

I enjoyed it unexpectedly even thought the kids beside us were annoyingly loud.

Next up, we tried the Bandit, the most popular roller coaster in Yomiuri Land.

I was screaming like a baby all throughout the ride while Dara kept on digging her nails in my arm. I found scratch marks and deep holes in my arm. I sighed as I felt some ant-bite pain from the marks.

We were looking for another ride when I saw something that made me stop.

An idea formed in my head.

I gently tugged her arms and led her to Crazy Hyuuuu, Crazy stooon, a ride that goes all the way up and will plunge down all of a sudden.

She looked at me nervously. I squeezed her hand with both my hands, reassuring her that I’ll be by her side all throughout.

We walked towards the entrance of the ride and paused for awhile before taking our seat.

She looked at me and gave me a smile, reassuring me that it was ok with her.

We took our seat, not letting go of each other’s hands.

As the ride commenced, I felt her tightened her hold on my hand.

I turned to her and smiled, tucking neatly on her ear a stray strand that danced in front of her face.

I spoke to her above the noise that surrounded us.

“What you must work on when singing live is your volume.” I told her. She pouted.

“Ya! What good timing you have for talking about work!” She slapped my arm.

I smiled. “I’m serious, Dara.” He said. “You know, what can help?” She shook her head.

“When we reach the top, this ride will pause for awhile.” She waited for me to continue.

“While we are on top, try to sing the chorus as loud as you can.” She listened attentively.

“Even if the ride plunges down, try to still sing as loud as you can without getting out of tune.”

I winked at her.

And so I did. The instant we got to the top, I sang in the loudest volume I could fathom, mindful of not getting out of tune.

And when the ride plunged down all of a sudden, I did all I could to continue singing, even if my voice sounded like I was crying.

All throughout, I heard Jiyong singing with me, encouraging me to go further, pushing me to let it all out.

After the ride had ended, my hands were trembling but my face was filled with overwhelming joy.

Though the ride was scary and my task was close to impossible to fulfill, I knew I was going to be alright.

Because Kwon Jiyong was by my side, holding my trembling hand and never letting it go.
