Title: Third Wheel

Chanyeol never imagined he would be in this kind of situation, which was actually, beyond awkward. When he decided to introduce his best friend from the soccer team, Kim Jongin, to his childhood best friend, Son Naeun, he never expected to suddenly become the third wheel. Jongin and Naeun clicked inmediately as soon as they met and started hanging around oftenly. At first Chanyeol would tag along, happy that his two closest friends got along so well; however, those friendly outings started becoming dates and little by little, Chanyeol started feeling a little left behind.

It wasn't that he disliked the idea of them spending more time with each other than with him. No, of course not. He was actually happy for them. What bothered him was that they kept on insisting that he should come along and that he had to witness them being all lovey dovey. Their sweetness made him sick and he really wondered why Jongin hadn't confessed just yet.

Now the three of them were strolling around the amusement park and Chanyeol couldn't help but sigh. Once again, he had been fooled by Jongin when the younger boy told him that the three of them should go out. Chanyeol should have expected that Jongin was only using him because he was too afraid of asking Naeun on a proper date. Now he was stuck there, watching the two of them chatting as if they were the only ones in the world.

"I think Chanyeol oppa is getting bored" Naeun suddenly said when she spotted Chanyeol sighing for the nth time that night. His eyes widened when  he suddenly heard his name. He didn't even expect them to remember he was still there.

"It's okay, don't mind me. You can continue being all lovey dovey" he said, making his two friend blush madly and look away inmediately. He smirked at this and tried to hold back his laughter.

"You know what? Next time, let's tell Namjoo to join us" Jongin said, trying to change the topic to feel a little less awkward. Chanyeol suddenly frowned at the sudden suggestion. Namjoo? He didn't recall knowing someone with that name.

"Who is Namjoo?" he suddenly asked confused and both Jongin and Naeun turned to look at him with weird expressions

"My sister" he replied, a little bit surprised that he didn't know and Chanyeol frowned once again. Why didn't he know Jongin had a sister?

"You have a sister?" he asked really surprised now. He only remembered meeting his two brothers, but not a sister. "I only knew Joonmyun hyung and Minseok hyung"

"Can't believe you didn't know Jongin had a sister" Naeun said surprised

"Wait, you knew?" Chanyeol asked her surprised. How come Naeun, that had just met him, knew he had a sister and he didn't?

"Well, he told me" Naeun said and blushed a little as Jongin smiled. 

"Yeah, and I told you too but it seems like you never listen" Jongin said, smacking his head playfully and Chanyeol simply rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I'll bring her next time so that you can meet her"

Chanyeol didn't gave much importance to the matter, because he thought Jongin would probably forget. Or he would probably not agree to join his two friend on another date.

By the time the other date arrived, Chanyeol had already forgotten about what Jongin said about bringing his sister to meet him. Naeun said she wanted to go to the movies and asked the two guys to join her. Chanyeol didn't want to be third wheel once again, but Naeun wanted to watch a movie that he had been wanting to watch for a long time. That's why he decided to it up and just stand this night for the sake of the movie.

When Chanyeol arrived to the park where they agreed to meet, he was surprised to see Jongin apparently arguing with a petite girl with brownish hair that wasn't Naeun. As he walked towards them, he accidentally overheard a little bit of their conversation.

"I can't believe I agreed to be a third wheel!" the girl said, rather annoyed. Chanyeol couldn't help but chuckle a little as he felt identified with this girl. Apparently she had just found out she was going to join Jongin on his date, that's why she was so mad.

"You wanted to watch the movie too, so it up" Jongin replied, rolling his eyes

"Yeah, that's when I didn't know you were having a date with your girlfriend" she said, crossing her arms in front of her chest

"Hey, Naeun is not my girlfriend!" he said defensively, blushing slightly. The girl simply rolled her eyes

"That's because you don't have the balls to ask her out" she said and that caused Chanyeol laugh suddenly, which made Jongin and the girl next to him turn to look at him surprised by his presence. Oh, this girl was a genious. 

"Sorry, I didn't mean to eavesdrop your conversation but I couldn't help it" he said as he tried to stop laughing, but failed. Jongin felt really embarrassed by this, but didn't say anything and just glared at her. Chanyeol turned to her, still laughing "Someone really needed to tell him that, thanks"

"Yah! Stop laughing" Jongin complained, but that didn't stop him. However, what did stop him was the fact that he realized that he hadn't introduced himself to the girl, who was watching him amused as she smiled after the compliment.

"Oh sorry for being rude" he said and then smiled as he turned towards her "I'm Park Chanyeol, this idiot's best friend"

The girl giggled slightly and then shook his hand.

"Kim Namjoo, the idiot's sister" she said and that surprised him and also made him laugh. He had forgotten Jongin said he would introduce them, but now he remembered and he was amused. 

"Yah! You two stop making fun of me" he said and the two of them laughed once again. 

"You know what? I think I like you better than him" Chanyeol joked as he continued laughing and Namjoo chuckled as well. "You are a lot funnier than him"

"Thanks, you are nice too" she said "Never expected a guy like you to befriend someone like my brother either"

"I know right? I don't even know why I am his friend, to be honest" he said and the two laughed again

"What is that supposed to mean?!" Jongin complained, but neither of them replied as they continued talking to each other, completely ignoring his presence. 

Jongin sighed and hoped Naeun would come soon and save him from those two, who kept on making fun of him. As they waited for Naeun. Chanyeol and Namjoo exchanged funny stories about Jongin, much to his dismay, but he couldn't stop them. The two talked like old friends since they had found something in common: making fun of him. Jongin sighed and regretted introducing the two.

About 20 minutes later, Naeun texted Jongin and he beamed in happiness. Finally someone would save him from these monsters that kept on annoying him.

I'm sorry oppa, but I can't make it :( Mom got sick and I need to be here with her. We can watch the movie another time. Take care :)

Jongin suddenly felt the desire to cry as soon as he read Naeun's message. Not because she wasn't able to come, but because that meant he was stuck with Chanyeol and Namjoo. Since they were already out, they decided to go somewhere and enjoy their night out. Jongin knew he would regret agreeing because for the rest of the night, he was the third wheel.
