"It's your birthday in two weeks Yifan!" Chorong, Yifan's cousin, said over the phone sounding quiet annoyed. "You'll have to eat the cake I'll bake for you!"

Yifan was walking down the streets of a Seoul on what seemed to be the rainiest day of the year, with one hand holding his cellphone and with the other hand holding an umbrella.

"I told you already Chorong, I don't like sweets more especifically cakes" Yifan said and his cousin sighed. If he had been able to see her, he would have seen her rolling her eyes. Chorong would never understand how could there be a person that disliked sweets, but Yifan was just like that. "You do not need to bother baking me a cake, a simple coffee will do"

"When have you heard that people drink coffee, instead of eating cake on their birthdays?" she asked and he chuckled slightly.

"No cake for me, Chorong" he said once again and Chorong sighed over the phone

"You kill all the fun" she said annoyed and he chuckled once again, before hanging up.

He continued walking down the streets and he was starting to feel really cold. Despite the fact that he had an umbrella over him, he could still feel some raindrops falling over him. He was suddenly craving for a really warm drink and thought maybe, he should get some coffee.

As he continued walking, he noticed there weren't any coffee shops nearby. He sighed as he continued looking for one, but was unsuccessful. The closest thing to a coffee shop that there was nearby was a new Bakery across the street. It seemed to have been opened just a few weeks ago.

"Pink Panda's Bakery" he read and couldn't help but roll his eyes "There's no way I'm going in there"

He sighed, before looking at his watch. He didn't have much time, before his meeting started and he really needed something warm. Yifan sighed once again and shook his head, before finally crossing the street.

He slowly opened the door of the Pink shop and heard the bells of the door ringing. He figured he looked really ridiculous walking in such a girly place. He looked around and saw a lot of people eating their cakes happily and couldn't help but frown slightly.

"Hi, how can I help you" he suddenly heard voice that interrupted his thoughts. He turned his head and his eyes caught sight of a really beautiful girl, smiling gently at him. He suddenly felt his heart racing faster. He was lost in his thoughts for a while, because he had never seen such a beautiful girl before, he was just mesmerized.

"Sir?" the girl spoke once again and he finally snapped out of his thoughts.

"Oh, I'm sorry" he said, feeling quiet embarrassed for zoning out.

"Are you looking for any special cake?" she asked gently and then he remembered why he was in there.

"Actually, I was wondering if you happened to sell any warm drinks" he said rubbing his neck nervoussly "I really need one now"

"Of course we do" the girl said, smiling to him once again. Yifan felt his heart flutter and felt really embarrassed.

"Thanks god" he said feeling more relieved "I'd like coffee then"

"Ok" she said still with a smile on her face "That would be $1.50"

"Here you go" Yifan said handing her the money. When his hand brushed hers, he felt his cheeks burning a little and kind of felt as if he had lost his breath. He didn't understand why he was feeling so nervous and he really felt stupid.

"Would you like anything to eat?" she asked, interrupting his thoughts once again

"Not really, I don't like cakes" he said shaking his head and she looked at him quite shocked.

"You don't? That is something I haven't heard before" she said, still surprised and he chuckled

"Yeah, I'm kind of weird" he said smiling to her and she smiled back. She turned around and poured some coffee on a plastic cup. She put in on the counter, before handing him two little bags of sugar.

"Here you go" she said "Enjoy your order"

"Oh, no sugar for me" he said, taking the cup of coffee and drinking it slowly. He closed his eyes and enjoyed the taste of the bitter liquid on his mouth. She looked at him surprised, but just smiled.

"Thanks a lot" he said

"You are welcome" he smiled to her, before his eyes landed on the name tag on her shirt. The name of the girl that had made him lost his breath was Yoon Bomi.

For the rest of day, his mind couldn't stop thinking about the girl of the bakery. He kept picturing her and her sweet smile and he couldn't help it. He was really distracted, even at work.

The next day, he walked around the same street and he kept wondering if he should go to that bakery. Maybe it was better to just forget about it and continue his life normally, but his mind wasn't helping and he kept on thinking about her.

Before he even knew, he was crossing the street like he did the previous day. He heard the bells of the door ring as he entered and there he saw her. A smile appeared on his face as he noticed how sweetly she was attending one kid that wanted to buy a piece of cake.

After the kid left to his table happily, Yifan approached to her.

"Hi" he said and she looked up. She smiled when she saw him.

"I'm glad to see you liked our coffee" she said. I liked you- he thought, but fell slightly ashamed of his thoughts. Actually, their coffee wasn't the best but he needed an excuse to see her again.

"Of course" he said with a smile

"Coffee?" she asked

"Yes, please" he said nodding. Bomi prepared his coffee and then handed it to him, this time, not giving him the little sugar bags.

"Thanks, Bomi" he said, accidentally slipping her name. She was surprised, but guessed he read her name tag. She smiled to him and he felt his heart fluttering once again.

The following days, he continued going to the bakery with the excuse that wanted coffee, just to see her once again. There wasn't a single day that he didn't go. Every day, at the same hour and it had already been two weeks. He even dared to tell her his name one day and now they where somehow friends.

That day, was Yifan's birthday and he was excited to see Bomi. He knew his coffeee would taste extra special that day, because it was his birthday.

When he opened the door, he expected to see Bomi, but instead he saw another girl attending the customers. He frowned, since he thought Bomi was the only one who did that.

"Hi" he said as he approached. The girl turned around and greeted him with smile.

"Good morning sir, how can I help you?" she asked. Yifan read her name tag and saw it was Kim Namjoo. He know wondered where Bomi was. She was really nice to everyone and a really good worker, so he didn't think she could have been fired.

"The girl who used to work here, where is she?" he asked suddenly

"Oh Bomi?" Namjoo asked and he nodded his head "She quitted yesterday"

"What?" he asked, a little bit too shocked. He felt rather embarrassed when Namjoo looked at him surprised by his reaction. He then excused himself and walked out of the bakery, disappointed that he didn't see Bomi. And also disappointed that she left.

He sighed. Just when they were starting to be friends, she left. Maybe, this year his birthday wouldn't be that happy now that he knew he wouldn't be able to see Bomi everyday.

Will I ever see you again?

****

Yifan became acostumed to walking around that street already, so everyday he continued walking by the bakery. He wouldn't go in now though, he would just walk by and see if he spotted Bomi from the window. Everyday, he saw Namjoo there and felt disappointed that Bomi wasn't there. He could even swear, he missed her already.

He sighed as he walked towards his work that day, holding his umbrella. It was rainning, just like the day when he saw her for the first time. A faint smile appeared on his face as remembered the first time he saw there and how his heart raced faster.

A sudden ring on his phone, interrupted his thoughts. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but the caller was his cousin Chorong. Just like the day he met Bomi.

"Hi there, cousin" he said over the phone

"Yifan, Joonmyun wants to know if you are coming for dinner tonight" she asked him and he smiled

"Tell him I'll be there" he said, before hanging up the phone. When he finished the phone call, he realized he was standing in front of Pink Panda's bakery. It all seemed like a deja vu. Everything that happened that day, seemed to be repeating itself.

Maybe that was the reason why he decided to walk in the bakery once again. If he was lucky enough, maybe he would see Bomi again. His heart raced faster as he opened the door. He had the slight hope to see her there attending the customers, but was disappointed when he walked in and saw she wasn't there.

Namjoo was there, attending a girl. He guessed it would be rude to walk out like that when he had just entered, so he decided to buy some coffee.

He walked to the counter and smiled to Namjoo.

"Hi" he said "A cup of coffee please"

"Yifan?" the girl that was previously talking to Namjoo, turned around startled and called his name. Yifan turned his head and was shocked to see that the girl was no other than Bomi. His heart started beating faster once again, when she smiled brightly at him.

"I'm so glad to see you" she said as she gave him a quick hug. He suddenly felt his cheeks blushing and his palms sweating.

"How have you been?" he asked her and he could swear, he had never felt so happy before. He was seeing her again finally. "Heard, you quitted"

"Let's take a seat, so we can talk" she said and he nodded with a smile on his face. Soon Namjoo brought his coffee and the piece of cake she had ordered to their table and then left them alone.

"So, how has your life been? I haven't seen you in a while" he said and she smiled

"Yeah, I had to quit because I had to focus on my studies" she replied and he nodded

"I see" he said and then smiled once again as he watched her eat.

"Hey, are you sure you don't want to try the cake? I'm not saying this because I used to work here, but the cake of this shop is really the best"

Yifan chuckled slightly. When Bomi handed him a fork, he hesitated before taking it, but decided that maybe it was time to try something new. He smiled to himself, before forking a piece of cake and putting it on his mouth. He tasted it as he watched Bomi smiling at him. Even though he didn't like sweets, he could swear a piece of cake had never tasted better.
