Taking a day off did not seem to stop the general public from talking about Yu-ki. Throughout her mother’s lesson, Yu-ki paid no attention to her surroundings focusing solely on her work. After her phone call with Jongin yesterday, she realized that she really has not gotten anything done and if she wanted to stay at Seoul National, then she needed to work fast.

All around her, people were talking. The hype of her arrival had yet to die down and her sudden reappearance today made it an even bigger topic. Yu-ki’s absence yesterday made everyone think that the devil teacher had finally gotten to her. Apparently, having already spent more than 24 hours in the presence of the feared professor, she was already a campus celebrity. Her showing up today, made her into a legend. In her entire career, there was only one other recorded instance of a student spending this much time with her. Granted, that person did fall under special circumstances, but even that was a disputed topic.

As she was packing her bag, she looked up and caught Tao’s eye. There was a moment between the two of them where everything seemed to freeze. Yu-ki replayed their short conversations over in her head once again, the words echoing in her skull. No. Can’t. Still hurts. It took every ounce of her strength to look away.

Packing up his bags, intending to look over at his friend, he accidentally caught Yu-ki’s eye instead. He watched as time seemed to slow and everything seemed to fade until it was just the two of them, then he watched as she turned and looked away.

Tao thought he would be happier not having to confront her, but the truth was, this hurt even more. Watching her walk away, letting her disappear from his life. It hurt more the second time. 

[A/N]: I think I said this before, but the Tao/Yu-ki past drama stuff will be revealed at a much later time (before she leaves Vancouver though). Also, can I just clarify that Jongin and none of the guys know about Yu-ki potentially getting kicked out of school. Only Joonmyun and I would assume Kris know.
