 Yu-ki went to Vancouver under the guise of needing to be home in order to work without distractions. However, what she was really looking for was answers. Answers to questions she had since the moment she woke up with no recollection of what had become her life. Just because Yu-ki had lost her memories, that doesn’t mean that they didn’t happen. Coming home to the only life she knew, she found it to have changed. Though she did get her answers, she’s also going back with more questions.

Thinking back on her last couple hours in Vancouver, she remembered Tao and the promise they made before she left.

“Stay in touch. I’ll see you soon okay. I promise.” Yu-ki said as they hugged one last time.

“You said the same thing five years ago.” Tao responded with a squeeze. “It was you that didn’t keep your end of the promise.”

“I will this time.”

Yu-ki looked down at her tray table, staring at her own writing in black pen stark against the white of the envelope.
