Day 23
2013, Year of UsWednesday January 23rd, 2013
Yu-ki didn’t want to follow Jongin around today, which is exactly what she told him that morning. Since she now had a pretty decent handle on the language, he relented and she was basically free to do whatever she wanted. Today she opted to go back to the park. Yu-ki wanted to see if she would be able to remember more of her fragmented memory.
Walking down the same path as last week, she retraced her steps. The jungle gym was to her left, though left abandoned for the winter season, and a lush green field dusted white with snow. Yu-ki walked to the exact spot under the street light where her memory had taken place. Reaching out gently, she brushed her fingers against the cold metal.
"You’re right,” a voice from her right startled her making her retract her hand spinning to face the speaker. “I don’t understand.” She vaguely remember the face. It was the same male from last week she exploded at. “I don’t understand what you are going through. But it sounds like you don’t know either.” He repeated with a mysterious smile. “A picture is worth a thousand words.” He recited. “You’re a photographer, go read up on your story.”
Yu-ki could only stare in confusion as she watched him walk past her as if nothing had just occurred. It took her a moment to really let his words take effect. It wasn’t as if he was saying anything particularly profound, but she found the words resonating deep within her. Hastily turning around, she caught up with him a far ways up the path.
“Wait.” She grabbed his arm halting him. He spun to face her and looked taken aback. “How did you know? How did you know I was a photographer?” Yu-ki was curious, she hadn’t remembered telling him any of that last week. She hadn’t remembered even speaking in Korean. “You understand Chinese.” She stated. “Do I know you?” Yu-ki asked. As far as she knew, she didn’t know anyone outside of school.
“Not really.” He smiled innocently. “My name is Lu Han.”
