Day 65
2013, Year of UsWednesday March 6th, 2013
“Are you okay?” Jongin asked, eyebrows knitted in concern. The class was given a quick water break and Jongin noticed Yu-ki’s uncomfortable expression.
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Yu-ki responded quickly shutting her laptop a little too hard to be considered natural.
“You sure?” he asked once again.
“Never better.” Yu-ki smiled appearing to be perfectly fine. Jongin knew she wasn’t. Something was clearly bothering her. He wanted to ask one more time, but he saw the silent pleading in her eyes.
“Okay just, smile a bit, you were burning a hole through your laptop earlier.”
“Actually, I think I’m going to step out for a while. I’ve been sitting here too long and I want to stretch my legs. Call me when you’re done?” She had already started packing her bag before Jongin even had a chance to process her words.
“Yeah, I’ll call you.” he answered a little belatedly although Yu-ki had already disappeared through the door without as much as a wave. Jongin was about to follow her, but at that moment the class was called to resume. He walked back to his spot still worried over his best friend. Jongin wanted nothing more than to tell her that everything would be alright. But knowing her, she wouldn’t listen. At least not to him.
“What’s wrong?” Joonmyun walked to his usual table to find it already occupied. “You look distressed. Like more than the usual ‘my friends are being stupid’ distress. You want to talk about it?” he set his things on the table taking the seat across from Yu-ki.
“Not really.” Came her muffled reply as she buried her face into her hands.
“Are you sure? Talking about it will make you feel better.” he offered again.
“I’d rather not.”
“Come on. Tell me. I promise I won’t tell a soul.” Joonmyun tried bargaining with her. “Well, unless you committed a crime, then unfortunately I’m going to have to turn you in to the proper authorities.” He joked trying to brighten the mood. It worked a little causing Yu-ki to crack a small smile.
“It’s nothing like that.” She reassured him heaving a sigh. “I’m getting kicked out of school.” She divulged. “Since I was put on academic leave, I’m still technically enrolled in last semester’s classes. I was given until the end of this semester to hand in all my assignments and everything if I want to stay here. If it were any other subject, I could just teach myself the material and get it over with. But this doesn’t come from a textbook. I have no idea what I was thinking a few months ago let alone anything about photography.” Yu-ki truly was in a predicament. Had it been anything other than the arts she would have no trouble with this task. This was just another reminder that she grew up far from her intended path.
“What are you going to do about it?” Joonmyun asked seriously though he already had a good idea of her plans.
“I think I have to go back home.”
just got real. From here on out the real drama begins.
Tao will show up in about a week(?) and Sehun in a month(?)
