“Isn’t she jealous?” Yu-ki asked.

“Why would she be?” Yixing said knowing very well who she was talking about.

“I mean, you’re probably always in the news at some elite event surrounded by beautiful women and she can’t do anything about it.”

“Was that a humble brag? Did you just call yourself beautiful?” Yu-ki rolled her eyes playfully giving his shoulder a slight shove. “She’s never said it outright, but I can tell it worries her a lot. I mean it’s not easy being in a secret relationship.” He sighed. “Speaking of which, how, how did you find out?”

“The signs were all there.” Yu-ki shrugged. “The disappearing around holidays, the constant texting, the love songs. So, what’s the deal? Why keep her a secret?”

“My father doesn’t approve. Unfortunately her family only makes a decent amount to sustain their living expenses.” He replied sarcastically.

“Are you serious?”

“Yep. Though, it’s not really my father that doesn’t approve, it’s rather how he feels the media will react. Studying dance is already taboo, but going overseas to study dance is downright absurd. Having an average girlfriend would just be the cherry on the figurative scandalous actions cake.”

“Wow. That’s crazy. So what’s gonna happen now? I mean you’re done. You’ve graduated and everything. Headed back to China?”

“Mmhmm.” He hummed. “Since I have been gone for four years, I’m sure in my absence they found a new young child to dote over and had forgotten about me.”

“We’ll miss you here.” Yu-ki said truthfully. Even though she had consciously known Yixing for four months, he was easily the closest friend she had. “Visit lots.”

“Of course. I mean I will be back in June to graduate. Don’t worry.”
