Day 56
2013, Year of UsMonday February 25th, 2013
“How was Hong Kong?”
“How did you know I was in Hong Kong?” Yu-ki asked Joonmyun as she sat in the vacant seat across from him.
“Please,” he scoffed. “It was all over the news. You can’t expect the children of six powerful corporations going on a vacation together not to attract some kind of attention.” Joonmyun drawled.
"I didn’t think you would be interested in that kind of stuff.” Yu-ki countered. “You don’t seem like the type of person to keep up with the lives of spoiled children.”
"It’s kind of hard not to when it’s part of my life too.” Joonmyun said under his breath.
“Pardon?” Yu-ki looked up from her phone after sending a quick text message.
“Nothing,” he quickly covered. “But you do realize you just called yourself and your friends spoiled children right?”
“Well, that’s what we are right? At least in the eyes of society.” She sighed. “They just see us as children who will forever sit on the coattails of their parents’ success. Never needing to lift a finger. Never amounting to anything more.”
“Well, society’s really blind sometimes. Sometimes the answer they are looking for is in front of their face.”
“So, you’re the answer?” Yu-ki joked.
“Perhaps.” Off to the side his phone beep with a new text message.
