Chapter 48 – Days of Ignoring

Sehun’s POV

“I’ll see you tomorrow then?” I said as we reached her house’s doorstep. She smiled, enticing me again, before nodding.

“Yup. Thank you,” she said and I nodded, smiling back. With a little hesitation, I stepped closer to her and planted a kiss on her cheek.

“Bye. I love you,” I said, a smile on my face. I noticed how her cheeks turned red that made me chuckle. Slowly, I took a step back before walking away. I looked back once again and she was still standing on the same position, watching me walk away. I laughed and motioned for her to go in already. “Go in then I’ll leave!” I shouted. She slightly shook her head, sighed, before smiling.

“Araso! Bye! I love you too!” She said and it made the smile on my face wider. I nodded before she went in their gates and in the house. With a smile, I walked away to the bus stop when my phone rang. I grabbed it and answered the call.

“Yoboseyo? Oh, hyung. Now? Ok. Bye, see ya,” I said and ended the call.

Daehyun’s POV

As I stopped by for a while at Jongup’s work place as soon as we left school, I looked out the glass wall and watched the passerby and the vehicles that come and go while Jongup worked. I just stayed to take a little break. I don’t even know why I’m so worked up right now. Once in a while, I glance at Jongup and see him, with a forced smile, greet the customers. Jongup seemed to be so depressed knowing Hyomi’s together with another guy. It’s not only him, actually, but almost the whole group, when we met up earlier as soon as the class ended.

“I have heard of it,” Yongguk hyung said as we gathered one afternoon after school at our group place. Everyone sprawled around the room.

“Who cares,” I mumbled. I felt gazes at me and I turned to them, they were almost glaring at me. “Easy yo,” I said as I rolled my eyes and dropped on the couch.

“I thought I already stand a chance,” Zelo said earning a smack from Himchan. “Hyung!”

“Why are you even depressed when we knew all along that he has a boyfriend?” I said and they raised an eyebrow at me.

“Haven’t you heard of it? Baekhyun and her are cousins,” Jongup said. That hit me. They’re cousins?! The other four looked at each other and I knew there’s something they are keeping from us.

“That’s also why she didn’t want us in her place. Basically because she’s keeping that from us although that secret was already somewhat old,” Youngjae added, shrugging.

“Do you know something we don’t?” I asked and it was my turn to look at them. Jongup also looked at them. Obviously, he just also knew now. The four let out a sigh before Himchan hyung talked.

“We knew since before. Since the vacation,” he said and my eyes widened.

“WHAT?! Then you kept it from us? I was hesitating for no reason then?” Jongup said and he was raging. I also felt slightly the same but I don’t intend to show it. It’s just so not me if I did. Showing no interest, I rolled my eyes.

I knew it. There’s something weird between them both. I mean, they’re lovers but they barely show it in school. They show skinship but it was obvious Hyomi isn’t that comfortable to it. That explains the looks and glares he throws Baekhyun whenever Baekhyun says something about them that are lies.

The rest was a blur to me. I averted my attention to other things but my mind was still filled by her, and only her.

“How long are you staying?” I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up to see Jongup sitting in front of me for a break as another worker took over the counter. I shrugged and leaned on the backrest, crossing my arms over my chest.

“You, how long are you planning to act like that?” I asked and he looked at me. I knew that it wasn’t just a simple look, a look that he gave because I caught his attention but rather a look with pain mixed with anger.

“You don’t know anything,” he said looking down on the table. It made my fist that lie on my lap clench. Do I really don’t know? Even a little bit, I don’t? “You don’t know how hard it is to accept that fact but…” He paused and took a deep breath before releasing it with a loud sigh. “…as long as she’s happy. There’s nothing more I’ll ask for,” he said and slightly smiled, looking at me.

“Are you giving up?” I asked. I know I sound pathetic. I’m asking him if he’s going to give up when I really wanted him to stop even before but maybe with a different perspective this time. Together with a sigh, he shrugged and looked out the window, his reflection on the transparent glass showed how he felt ambiguous.

“I don’t know. I’ll see…until when I can fight. I’m thinking whether I should still tell her,” he said turning to me. “But it might just make her feel bad if I did. I just… I don’t know.”

I watched how his face conveyed different feelings but topping it all, for sure, is pain. I put a hand on his shoulder and pat him. He looked at me and I slightly smiled although I know he couldn’t see through my mask.

“Everything’s going to be fine. Just…don’t be like me. Don’t let your emotions take the best of you because that’s what would ruin your friendship,” I said, patting him a little harder on the shoulder before standing up, slinging my bag on my shoulder. “I should get going before mom look for me. I’ll see you in school then. Bye,” I said and he just gave me a nod before he blankly stared on my empty seat as if it was the most amusing thing ever.

I pushed the door open and walked out.

Who knows, I might just be the same as him. Hurting, loving.

Hyomi’s POV

It was just any ordinary school day, almost a month of being with Sehun and I could say it was one of my happiest months after that happening that put me in a state where I felt there’s nothing that could cheer me up. I walked to school with Sehun and Baekhyun oppa. I entered the school gates with less threatening glares than usual. I walked to my room, bidding good bye to them and sat myself on my usual seat. Neither Ah Neul nor Jongup had arrived yet. I turned to look at Jongup’s chair and sighed.

It has been so long that Jongup barely talked to me. He only talks to me if it’s needed and other than that, he doesn’t. It’s the same with the other BAP members although they greet me on the hallways or whenever we meet but it’s not the usual cheery greeting they give me. I usually tackle Zelo when we meet but now, I can’t with the thought that there’s something wrong but no matter how I tried to ask them why, nothing comes out. I feel useless as a friend at those times.

I really don’t know why but the words Ah Neul told me as soon as the news broke out that I’m dating Sehun oppa still lingered in my memory.

“The problem is you”

I have been thinking about this but the only thing I could think of is that he’s not ok with my relationship with Sehun oppa. The question though is why? There’s nothing unlikeable, or at least to me, with Sehun oppa. I know I should be looking by their perspective but nothing really comes to my mind. Am I that numb to know why or feel why they’re acting like that? Am I too caught up with my relationship and studies that nothing mattered to me other than that?

Those thoughts filled my mind for a while until a shadow cast over me. I looked up and saw Jongup. His eyes wandered around the room as if he didn’t want to look at me. I gulped before, like usual, smiling and greeting him.

“Good morning best buddy,” I said hoping a reply from him but he only slightly smiled and nodded. Feeling helpless, I turned around but looked around again. I can’t keep this going. “Did you finish your homework in Math? I can’t get a question. Can you teach me?” I asked hoping he would answer but he shook his head. I just smiled and nodded. “Thanks anyway,” I said turning around again. I should really do something to stop this and there’s no other way I could think off but to do my last resort.

As soon as classes ended, I urged Ah Neul to quickly arrange her things.

“Palli!” I said and I could see from my peripheral view that Jongup is bewildered on how I’m acting. I decided to turn to him and grin. “Annyeong!” I said and practically dragged Ah Neul out.

“W-Wait! Hyomi!” She whined.

“Sorry, we got to hurry,” I said as I skipped down the stairs fast when I almost bumped into Suho oppa.

“Whoah, what are you doing?” He asked.

“Oh, sorry oppa. I’m in a hurry. Can you tell Baekhyun oppa that I’ll be going home late?”

“Going home late, why?” I peered over his shoulder to see Baekhyun oppa and Sehun oppa walk up and stand behind him.

“Uh, I need to do something. A project,” I said as I looked at Ah Neul. “Right, Ah Neul?” I said smiling hoping she would get the message.

“Ah, yes. We need to finish it by tomorrow,” she said.

“So I guess we have to go now,” I said grabbing Ah Neul’s arm again. I looked at Sehun oppa and gave him an apologetic look but he only smiled.

“It’s okay. Just take care on your way. Call me if you need someone to pick you up,” he said and I nodded, smiling.

“Neh, gomawo,” I said before I said bye and left with Ah Neul.

“Where are we really going?” Ah Neul asked as we got out the school’s premises.

“You’ll see but first, we need to buy some things,” I said and I heard Ah Neul sigh making me grin.

I just hope this would be enough as an apology though I don’t know what I did wrong. What I know is that I don’t like how we’re treating each other these days.

Ah Neul’s POV

We went in a mart and bought some stationeries before going to I don’t know where. Hyomi kept on dragging me here and there. The only thing I know is that we’re doing this to get BAP to talk to her again. I’m not blind neither stupid to not notice it too. Jongup barely talked to Hyomi and if I’m not mistaken, it’s because he’s heartbroken. For the other five, I really don’t know. Yongguk-ah said that they’re really not mad. It’s just that according to him some members need time. I already got a feeling that more than one of them likes Hyomi that’s why they’re affected that way.

The reason why I’m helping Hyomi is because one, I hate seeing Jongup and Hyomi like that, and second, I think it’s also been a long time since that kind of treatment started and I don’t think I can handle seeing that.

Soon, we reached a building that looked worn out. I stood beside Hyomi looking at the building.

“We’re going here?” I asked and she nodded.

“Let’s go,” I said but I held her back feeling shivers run down my spine.

“Isn’t it abandoned?” I asked and she chuckled before forcefully pulling me to a door.

“There’s nothing to worry,” she said as she entered the code to the lock that surprised me.

“How—“

“They told me,” she said before the lock snapped open and Hyomi opened the door where I found stairs leading to another door. We walked down and Hyomi felt something on the floor and stood up with a key. She unlocked the door and a room made visible in front of me.

“Whoah, where—who owns this?” I asked.

“BAP,” she said and I nodded in understanding.

“Are we doing it here?” I asked and she nodded before she set her things down. I did the same and we sat on the floor, beginning with our task.

We did that while chatting about random things until Hyomi had to mention Kai.

“So how’s it going with Kai?” She asked with a teasing smile.

“Nothing,” I said. That’s the truth. I’ve not really talked to him for long time though I get to meet him around the school but the least we would say to each other is hi or a hello. Nothing more, nothing less.

“Really?” She said and I nodded.

“Though I hope there is,” I mumbled.

“I heard that,” she said, laughing. I rolled my eyes before laughing.

“It doesn’t matter anyways. He wouldn’t like me back,” I said and she shook her head.

“You’re not sure about that. What if he’s just afraid to confess to you?” She said and I don’t know whether to be happy for that possibility or not because it just makes me hope that it’s possible, me and him. I shrugged while she laughed.

“Leave it on me. Who knows, someone might just confess to you,” she said that caught my attention.

“Then who’s that guy then?” I said, curious. She just stuck her tongue out as my heart beat raised that maybe, just maybe, it’s him.

“Let’s finish this so we could go home early,” she said dismissing the topic. I didn’t ask more because most likely, I’m the one who would be ending up teased.

In an hour, we finished everything and started putting it up on the walls. It was really tiring writing and pasting it on the walls but it was fun in some way as I was able to spend time with Hyomi and had a girl talk even though she kept on teasing me. I back anyway so it’s quits already.

After, we looked at the finish product and smiled contently to ourselves.

“I guess this is okay. Thanks for the help Ah Neul. I wouldn’t have finished this without you,” she said and I smiled.

“It’s nothing. I enjoyed anyway,” I said.

“Let’s go. It’s getting dark,” she said and I nodded. We turned the lights off locked the door and before leaving, Hyomi posted something on the front door, making me laugh. “Kaja!” She said and with that, we left the place hoping that by the time they see it, everything would go back to normal.

Daehyun’s POV

I walked home immediately after we were dismissed. I slipped off my shoes and immediately smelled the food my mother was cooking.

“I’m home,” I said as I entered the kitchen and found what my mom cooked.

“Oh, you’re here,” she said before peering over my shoulder. “Where’s Hyomi?” She said and I blinked for a few times.

“What? You were expecting her?” I asked a bit surprised. She nodded.

“I messaged you. Didn’t you receive it?” She asked. That made me grab my phone in my pocket and true to what my mom said, she messaged me. I opened the message and read it.

“Sorry. I placed it in silent since I’m in class. I forgot to change it,” I said. “Why?”

“Well, I was hoping she could join us today since I got my pay for the month and I’m able to cook something good,” she smiled and I can’t explain how happy she was while saying it but also noticed how it changed when she said that Hyomi isn’t there but said it was okay. I just nodded and said sorry before taking a hot shower and changing to comfortable clothes.

While sitting on my desk, doing home works, I can’t help but think how my mom wanted to see Hyomi but because I read the text late, I wasn’t able to invite her. Well, even so, I don’t know how I would invite her to the house knowing how we’re not in good terms. Well, we were from the start but it’s quite different this time.

After much thinking, I let a sigh escape my lips before I grabbed my phone and opened my contact list and to her number. I let my finger wander on top of her name before I got the courage to press the call. It rang for a couple of times until someone picked it up. Instead of someone greeting me, I heard snickering sounds and the phone hitting the ground. That made me stood up from my seat.

“Hyomi? Hyomi?!” I called her name several times but she didn’t answer. I just heard people shouting in the background and I knew something’s up.

She’s in trouble.

OMG. I just found your story and I'm so excited because my ultimate bias is Daehyun and my 7th boyfriend is Sehun! (Of course after all of the B.A.P members!) lol. I'm so eager and I'm glad this is a long fanfic. The flower that you might be talking is a dandelion? Well, that's why I know. It's white and you blow it right? Lol.
