Chapter 45
Baby Don't Cry
Haein’s POV
I can’t believe I’m pregnant. I can’t believe we’re going to be parents. I can’t believe there’s a life living in my stomach. I hope I’ll be a good mom and I hope we’ll be great parents to this baby. I felt someone grabbing my hand and looked over and saw Donghae smiling at me.
“You okay baby? What’s on your mind?” He asked me.
“I’m okay. I just can’t believe we’re going to be parents. I’m excited yet scared at the same time.” I told him.
“I’m scared too but we’ll get through this together.” He smiled at me.
We decided to tell Eunhyuk oppa and Bommie the good news so we headed towards their place.
“Hae? Haein? What are you guys doing here?” Eunhyuk oppa asked us.
“Haein’s here?” I heard Bommie asking.
“Can we come in?” Donghae asked Eunhyuk oppa.
“De. Come in.” He said and led us into a room. I walked over to Bommie and she pulled me into a hug.
“What brings you guys here? Are you feeling better?” Bommie asked.
“I’m feeling better. And we have news to tell you guys.” I smiled at them.
“What? Is something wrong?” Eunhyuk oppa asked us.
“Ani. It’s good news actually.” Donghae said.
“What is it?” Bommie asked.
“I’m pregnant. We’re going to be parents.” I smiled at them. They were quiet at first then they started screaming and jumping up and down.
“AH I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNT! I CALL DIBS ON BEING GODMOTHER!” Bommie shouted.
“AND I’M THE GODFATHER!” Eunhyuk oppa added.
Donghae and I both just laughed at them because they were acting like little kids.
“You guys can be the godparents of our child.” Donghae told them which caused them to cheer even louder.
“You guys are lame.” I teased them.
We spent an hour with them and just talked about everything… from the wedding to our baby. I was getting tired so Donghae and I headed home. We got home and we decided to call his parents to tell them the good news.
“Donghae ah?” His mom answered the phone.
“De umma. Haein’s here with me too. You’re on speaker phone.” He told his mom.
“Oh Haein ah. How are you honey?”
“I’m good umma.” I told her.
“Is there a reason why you guys are calling?”
“Umma. We have good news.” Donghae told her.
“Really now? What is it?”
“Congratulations umma… you’re going to be a grandma.” Donghae told her. His mom went silent for a bit. “Umma?”
“HONEY. WE’RE GOING TO BE GRANDPARENTS!!!!!!” I heard his mom screaming.
“WHAT?! SAYS WHO?” His dad screamed.
“Umma put appa on speaker phone.” Donghae told his mom.
“De. Honey you’re on speaker phone now. Tell appa what you just told me.” His umma told us.
“Appa. You’re going to be a grandpa. Haein’s pregnant.” Donghae told his dad.
“REALLY?! I’M FINALLY GOING TO BE A GRANDPA!” His dad was yelling while laughing.
“Aigoo. Congrats you two. I want you guys to come over tomorrow okay?” His mom told us.
“De umma. We’ll come over tomorrow.” I told her.
“Donghae ah. You better take care of Haein now. If anything happens to her, I’ll beat you up.” His dad warned Donghae.
“De appa. We’re going to get go now. Haein needs to rest. We’ll see you tomorrow.” Donghae told them and hung up.
“That went well?” I grinned at Donghae and he pulled me into a hug.
“I’m so happy right now. I don’t even know how to explain this feeling.” he told me.
“Me too.” I hugged him back.
We stayed like that for a few minutes and decided to break the hug and head for bed. I didn’t want to sleep that night… I was scared that if I slept I would wake up and everything would be a dream. Unfortunately, I was too tired and knocked out. I pray to God that I wake up and everything that happened today wasn’t a dream. I prayed that it was reality.
Donghae’s POV
I woke up and saw that Haein was still sleeping. I can’t believe that she’s pregnant. I can’t believe that I’m going to be a dad. I can’t believe the woman I love the most in the world is going to bear my own child. I smiled to myself while I took my hand and brushed her bangs out of her face. I got off of bed and went to the kitchen and decided to make her some breakfast.
After I was done with breakfast, I decided to go wake Haein up so she can eat her meal. I got into the room and saw our bed empty. Where’d she go? I heard vomiting sounds coming from the bathroom and ran in there. Haein was sitting on the floor while vomiting in the toilet. I walked over to her and sat down next to her. I took her hair and pulled it away from the toilet while my other hand was patting her back. After a few minutes, she finally stopped.
“You okay baby?” I asked her.
“I’m fine. It’s just morning sickness.” She replied weakly. Poor Haein… she looked really weak.
“Go back to bed. Don’t go to work today. I’ll call Bom and tell her.” I told her and she just nodded her head. I got up and carried her to our bed. “Wait here while I go get your breakfast.”
I went to the kitchen and put everything on a tray and got her a cup of water. I walked back into our room and placed the tray on the bed in front of her.
“You made me breakfast?” She asked me.
“Yeah. I didn’t want you to starve.” I smiled at her.
“Thank you Donghae.” She smiled back at me.
She was about to eat the kimchi stew I made her when she placed her spoon on the tray and ran to the bathroom. I heard vomiting noises again and headed towards the bathroom. I did the same thing again and waited for her to finish her business.
“What’s wrong baby?” I asked her.
“I don’t like the smell of the stew.” She told me while leaning on me. “It just smells really gross. I don’t want to eat it. I’m sorry that you woke up early to make it for me.”
“It’s okay baby. If you don’t like the smell then don’t eat it.” I wrapped my arms around her and rocked her back and forth.
“Can you just make me rice soup?” She asked me.
“Is that all you want? Will you be full?” I asked her.
“De. I’m craving that and I’ll be full. Please go make it for me?” She asked me cutely.
“Alright.” I broke the hug and carried her back into the bed. “Wait here while I make your rice porridge. Remind me to ask umma what pregnant woman eats later when we visit her.”
“De.” She said.
I went into the kitchen and got out a pot and started cooking the rice porridge for my Haein. I was waiting for the pot to boil and decided to call Bom and tell her that Haein can’t go to work today.
“Donghae?”
“Bom ah. Haein can’t go to work today. Her morning sickness is killing her so I was wondering if you can manage the place without her.”
“I can. Just tell her to stay home. Take care of her for me Donghae and make sure she gets some rest. I’ll take care of things at the shop.”
“Thanks Bom. I’ll see you later.” I told her and hung up.
After another ten minutes, the porridge was finally done. I added a little bit of salt so there would be flavor for Haein. I took the tray and headed towards the room and found Haein sleeping again. She must be really tired. I shouldn’t wake her up. I’ll just leave it at the table side and when she wakes up she can eat it. I called my mom to tell her that we’ll come later so Haein can sleep in for a bit.
I decided to go do some work while Haein is sleeping. I went into my private office and took out documents and started looking over it. I didn’t realize that I spent two hours in my office until I heard a knock on my door. I looked up and saw Haein walking in while she was rubbing her eyes. I put my work down and walked over to her.
“What’s wrong baby? Did you need something?” I asked her.
“I don’t need anything. I was just wondering where you went.” She replied. “Did I disturb you while you were working?”
“Ani. I was waiting for you to wake up.” I smiled at her while my hand caressed her face.
“I miss you.” She told me and pulled me into a hug. “Can we stay like this for a while?”
“We can.” I hugged her back. “But you do know that umma’s waiting on us right?”
“Oh crap. I forgot. Let’s get ready now.” She broke the hug and pulled me out of the office and went towards our room.
She let go of my hand and ran to the bathroom. She left the doors open so I could see her trying to put on her clothes quickly while trying to brush her teeth. I couldn’t help but laugh at the sight in front of me. Why is she so adorable? She realized that I was just standing there looking at her and glared at me.
“Why are you just standing there!? Hurry and get ready!” She nagged at me.
“Yes mother.” I laughed at her and went to go change. After we were done, we headed towards my parents’ house.
“Oppa?” I heard her asking me.
“Hmm?” I answered.
“Do you want a girl or a boy?” She asked me.
“I don’t really care what we get. As long as the baby is healthy then I’m fine.” I told her. “What do you want?”
“I don’t care either. I know that I’ll love it either way.”
We arrived in front of my parents house and I helped Haein get out of the car. I know that she’s only six weeks pregnant but I just want to make sure she’s safe no matter what. I’m not going to risk anything and have her get hurt.
“You know I can still walk by myself right?” She teased me.
“I know but I want to help you out.” I smiled at her and we walked into my parents’ house.
My mom rushed over and pulled Haein into a hug and Haein hugged umma back.
“My lovely daughter in law. How are you feeling? Did you throw up a lot this morning? Did you eat yet?” She asked Haein.
“De umma. I’m feeling better and I already ate.” She smiled at umma.
“That’s good. Are you craving anything? I’ll make it for you… just name it.”
“Hi to you too umma.” I pouted at my mom which caused the two most important women in my life to laugh at me.
“Yah Donghae ah. How old are you? You’re not a little kid anymore!” Umma teased me.
“Oppa you look ugly when you pout.” Haein added in and both women high fived each other.
“You guys are mean!” I continued pouting and I heard appa laughing.
“Aigoo. My son… pouting doesn’t look good on you. You should stop pouting now… you’re making all the men in the world look bad.” Appa teased me while laughing.
“Not you too appa! You’re suppose to be on my side!” I whined.
“Aigoo. How old are you seriously?” Appa laughed and I just glared at all of them.
“Alright. I’m sorry oppa. You look cute when you’re pouting so stop sulking around okay?” Haein said and came over to me and pull me into a hug.
“At least I have my wife.” I said and hugged her back.
“Let’s go in the living room now. I’ll call for some tea.” Umma said and we followed her into the living room. “I knew that you guys would make a honeymoon baby.”
“Umma!” I said and blushed. I looked over and saw Haein blushing too.
“What? I’m right. There’s nothing to be shy about.” Umma smiled at us.
“Honey stop it. The kids are embarrassed.” Appa told umma.
“Fine. I’ll stop. So Haein if you crave anything feel free to call me and tell me. Umma will cook it for you and send it over to you.”
“De umma. Thank you.” Haein smiled at umma.
“Aigoo. I can’t believe we’re going to be grandparents. I’ve been dreaming of this day since forever.” Umma started crying.
“Honey why are you crying? You’re going to scare the kids.” Appa told her.
“I can’t help it. I’m so happy.”
“Umma stop crying.” I tried calming her down. “If you keep crying like this then we won’t come over again.”
“Alright. I’ll stop crying.” Umma said and wiped her tears.
“Congratulations Donghae ah and Haein ah. You guys will be great parents.” Appa told us and smiled at us.
“Thank you appa.”
We spent the whole day talking with our parents and catching up with them. We stayed for dinner and even had dessert with them. Haein was getting tired so we bid them farewell and headed home. I let Haein get ready first while I was sitting on the bed waiting for her to be finished. I couldn’t help but think of how happy I am. I never really imagined my life to be like this… I’m actually happy and content with my life. Everything’s been great and wonderful ever since Haein came into my life. I’m thankful that I have Haein by my side. I wonder if she’s as happy as I am.
“Oppa what are you thinking about?” Haein asked and snapped me out of my thoughts. I saw her leaning against the bathroom door while drying her hair. I walked over to her and pulled her into a hug. “Oppa, what’s wrong?”
“I was just thinking about everything and how happy I am with the life that I have right now. Are you happy Haein?” I asked her.
“You’re silly oppa. Of course I’m happy. You’re the reason for my happiness. You showed me what true happiness is. I love you Donghae.” She told me and hugged me back.
“I love you too Haein. I’m happy that I have you by my side. I wouldn’t be living this life if it weren’t for you. Thank you Haein ah.”
“No problem oppa. You should go wash up now. You smell.” She broke the hug and smiled at me.
“Alright. Just head to bed first and I’ll be out later.” I told her and was about to walk in the bathroom but she pulled me back.
“Where’s my good night kiss?” She pouted at me.
“Aigoo. My baby is such a baby.” I and leaned in and gave her a kiss on her lips. “Happy?”
“De.” She nodded like a little kid. “I want to wait for you though. I want to cuddle with you so hurry up.” She said and pushed me into the bathroom.
“Alright. I’ll be out.” I smiled at her and closed the doors.
