Baby Don't Cry
Haein’s POV
It’s been a month since everything has happened. I moved out from Donghae’s place. I can’t stand being around that anymore. I hate his guts. How can one person be this heartless?! I moved in with Bommie again and she welcomed me with wide arms. The guys tried visiting me and apologizing to me but I told them that I didn’t want to see any of them right now. I just needed my space. I noticed that Eunhyuk tried talking to Bommie but she didn’t want to. Did something happen between them?
“Bommie did something happen between you and Eunhyuk oppa?” I asked her while we were at her house.
“I confessed to him.” WHAT?
“WHEN?! WHAT?! HOW?! DETAILS!”
“It was after that day when I ran into my ex boyfriend. I was at the park crying and I guess Hyukjae spotted me and he came over to comfort me. He said a lot of sweet things and it made me happy. I couldn’t take it anymore so I confessed my feelings for him and he said that he has a girlfriend that he loves. He said that he can’t return his feelings for me.” She told me sadly. I could tell that she still likes him and she’s trying to get over him.
“It’s okay Bommie. You’ll find someone better. I promise.” I pulled her into a hug.
“I know. That’s why I just need time away from him. Things won’t be the same anymore.”
“Let’s go do something then!” I told her. “Let’s go to the mall! I feel like shopping”
“Omo. Is it going to rain tomorrow?”
“Ani. Why?” I asked her.
“You said you feel like shopping!” she teased me.
“Whatever. Let’s go.” I playfully smacked her arm.
We headed towards the mall and started going in to all the different stores. We were having so much fun. After shopping for an hour, we both got hungry and decided to go to the food court… Bommie said she would go buy the food for us while I go look for a seat. There was none open… why is the mall so crowded?! I saw a table where that had 3 other seats but a girl was occupying it… maybe she’ll let us sit next to her. I walked right up to her.
“Excuse me? Do you mind if my friend and I sit here with you?” I asked her. She looked up at me and smiled.
“I don’t mind. You can sit here.” She told me and moved her bags to the floor to make room for me. “I’m Gong Minji by the way.”
“I’m Lee Haein. Thanks again for letting us sit here.” I smiled at her.
“No problem. Where’s your friend?”
“She’s getting us food right now. Are you here alone?”
“For now I am. I’m meeting up with my boyfriend and his friends. He’s just late.” She told me.
“I see. How late is he?”
“Thirty minutes already.” She pouted at me.
“Well then, I’ll keep you company then!”
“Thank you. By the way, how old are you?” She asked me.
“I’m 19. What about you?”
“I’m 17! You’re my unnie then. Can I call you that?”
“De. You can call me unnie!”
“YAH LEE HAEIN. I need help here!” I looked up and saw Bom with a tray filled with food!
“YAH. Why’d you buy so much?!”
“I’m hungry!” Bom pouted at me. “Omo. Who’s this?”
“Minji ah, this is Park Bom. She’s my best friend and she’s your unnie. Bommie this is Gong Minji. I just met her and she was nice enough to share the table with us!”
“Ah I see. Hi I’m Park Bom. You can call me Bommie unnie!” She smiled at Minji.
“De unnie! It’s nice to meet you. Sit down!” Minji told her.
“Have some food too Minji. I bought a lot.” Bom offered Minji. “You’re so cute! I’ve always wanted a dongsaeng!” We both just laughed at Bommie’s comment.
We were finally done eating and Minji’s boyfriend still wasn’t here yet. We asked her if she wanted to hang out with us until he came and she agreed to. We were walking around and we passed by a candy shop.
“Unnie! Can I go in here really quick?” We nodded and Minji ran into the shop. A few minutes later she came out with a bag of gummy bears. “My boyfriend likes these.” She smiled at us.
“Where is he anyways? He’s like an hour late!” Bommie asked Minji.
“He said he’s coming right now.”
“MINJI AH! I’M SORRY I’M LATE. I GOT CAUGHT UP WITH SOMETHING. I’M SORRY BABE.” I heard someone calling Minji. I turned around and saw Taemin running towards Minji. WAIT THEY’RE DATING?! TAEMIN NEVER TOLD ME HE HAD A GIRLFRIEND.
“It’s okay oppa. I met new unnies and they kept me company.” She told him. Taemin looked over at us.
“Haein noona!? Bom noona?!”
“Oppa. You know them?” Minji asked him. He just nodded his head. “How?”
“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you later okay?” He told her and she just smiled at him. He pulled her into a hug. “I’m sorry if I’m late. I promise it won’t happen again. I miss you Minji ah.” HOW SWEET.
“Yah Taemin! How in the world did you run like that?!” I saw Eunhyuk oppa breathing for air. “Haein? Bom? What are you guys doing here?” I could see Eunhyuk oppa staring at Bom but she looked away.
Before any of us could answer, the rest of the group came. Even Donghae was there. I haven’t seen him for a month. He was still handsome but he’s still a douche bag. He was shocked to see me in front of him. He was still staring but I looked away. I can’t stand looking at him.
“Noona. What are you doing here?” Minho asked me.
“I was just at the mall and met Minji by accident and we kept her company since she was waiting for you guys. Minji ah, since your boyfriend is here, we’re going to head out now. See you later.” I smiled at her. Donghae was still staring at me. What the hell is his problem?
“De unnie. Thank you for keeping me company. Thank you Bom unnie. Can I get your guys’ number so we can hang out again sometime?”
“De. Here’s our number. Bye Minji ah. Bye Taemin. Bye guys.” I told them before walking away.
“You okay Haeinnie?” Bom asked me.
“I’m fine.” I smiled at her. “What about you?”
“I’m fine too. Let’s go home now.”
Donghae’s POV
I was shocked when I saw Haein at the mall. I haven’t seen her in a whole month. The guys are cool with me again but they were still disappointed in me. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about Haein at all this past month. I’d lie if I said I didn’t care about her. This whole month, Haein’s been invading my thoughts even if I didn’t like it. I couldn’t help but think about her. I thought about the things she said about me. I kept on wondering if she was doing fine or if her aunt took her back again. I couldn’t help but wonder about her. What does this mean? I admit… I do feel guilty for being such a jerk to her. Maybe I am wrong. My mind has been so preoccupied with Haein. She’s all that I thought about it… even if I was with Sunye, I’d think of Haein. I don’t know why but hanging out with Sunye wasn’t that great anymore. She’s becoming annoying to me. Even if we sleep together, it’s not that great. I feel empty when I’m with Sunye now. What does this mean? It doesn’t mean anything right?
When I saw Haein, my heart started beating fast. It never did this when I was with Sunye. I felt like I couldn’t breath anymore when I saw her again. She was still beautiful… the only difference was she dresses up girlier now which made her even more beautiful than she already was. What are you thinking about Donghae? Why are you saying all this? There’s no point anymore… I know for a fact now that I have feelings for Haein… Seeing her once again confirmed my feelings for her. But it’s too late now… she hates my guts. I had the chance to be with her but I screwed that up with Sunye. Why didn’t I see this sooner? Eunhyuk was right.. I would end up regretting it.
“Hyung. You okay?” Minho asked me.
“De. I’m okay. Let’s go hang out.”
I didn’t even pay attention to the guys. I was too preoccupied with my thoughts about Haein. What should I do now? This is so confusing. Lee Haein, what are you doing to me?
We finally got done with the mall and I didn’t feel like going home yet so I just walked around. I don’t know why but I always end up at the park. This was the park where everything began. It was when I saved Haein and it’s the day where we both got involved in each others’ lives whether we wanted it or not. I heard voices talking and laughing. It was Haein’s voice! I would know her voice from anywhere! I don’t know what happened but something took over me and I ran towards Haein and her friend. I was right in front of her face. She looked shocked to see me. She didn’t say anything and just started walking. I ran to her and grabbed her arm and pulled her into a kiss. I felt her kissing back for a bit! Does this mean she likes me too? She pulled away from the kiss and slapped me.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING LEE DONGHAE?!” She yelled at me.
“I-I like you. I can’t stop thinking about you. At first, I thought it was guilt that I felt towards you so I just blew it off. Whenever I was with Sunye, I would just think about you. Hanging out with Sunye suddenly wasn’t fun anymore. I thought I was going crazy because you’re all I think about. Everything I did, it led me to think about you. And then when I saw you today, I realize that I like you. And I know I’m an idiot and I was a big to you. I hope you forgive me and give me a chance to make it up to you.” I told her.
“It’s too late now. Get out of my face. I don’t want to see anymore. We have nothing to do with each other anymore. I’ll get the marriage annulled.” She told me. I felt my heart breaking… I guess I deserve this. She walked away from me. I’m such an idiot for not realizing my feelings. I didn’t feel like going home so I ended up at a bar and I drank my sorrows away.
