Baby Don't Cry
Donghae’s POV
Sigh. My Haein is busy tonight. What am I going to do then? I didn’t want to go home yet since I would just end up working. Eunhyuk and the guys are all busy so I can’t call them up. I decided to call Kyuhyun up. It’s been a while since we talked. I wanted to catch up with him plus I needed to tell him that the engagement’s off and that he doesn’t need to cater anymore. I called him up and told him to meet me at the bar. I was sitting on the stool waiting for him to show up.
“Hyung. Sorry I’m late. Did you wait long? I was caught up in traffic.” He told me
“It’s okay. I got here like ten minutes ago.”
“What’s up hyung? I was surprised that you called me.” He told me.
“I just thought it’d be nice to catch up with you. You were my favorite dongsaeng back in high school.”
“Are you just saying that because I’m catering your wedding?” He teased me.
“About that. We broke off the engagement. Jieun and I aren’t together anymore.” I told him.
“WHAT?! BUT YOU GUYS LOVE EACH OTHER!”
“Actually I loved her but not anymore. There’s someone else that I love.”
“Who hyung?”
“You actually know her. She’s one of your workers.”
“Who? You only met two of them so it has to either be Ri In or Haein.”
“Haein. Wanna know something funny? I was married to Haein two years ago. And I still love her. We finally got back together.” I told Kyuhyun.
“I see hyung.” Kyuhyun replied. Why does he seem so disappointed? Is there something going on between them?
“What’s wrong Kyuhyun?” I asked him.
“Nothing hyung.”
“Tell me. Does it have to do with me dating Haein?”
“Can I tell you something?” Kyuhyun asked me. I nodded my head as approval. “I hired Haein to work for me a few months ago because I was smitten by her the first time I saw her. I thought that maybe I would be able to get to know her better. That did happen and I realize that I like her a lot. I confessed to her and she rejected me.” Kyuhyun likes Haein? I don’t know what to say.
“I’m sorry Kyuhyun. Usually I would back down for a friend when it comes to a girl but this time I won’t. I love Haein too much and we’ve been through so much that I can’t let her go anymore. I’m really sorry. I hope this doesn’t ruin our friendship.” I told him.
“It won’t hyung. I’ll get over her. It’s not like she’s the only one for me in this world.” He smiled at me. “Just give me a few days and I’ll get over it. Congrats hyung and I’m happy for you. I can’t believe there’s someone that you love more than Jieun. That’s surprising to me because you really loved Jieun back then.”
“Yeah. But Haein made me realize that my feelings for Jieun was just an infatuation. I really love Haein. She makes me happy.”
“That’s good for you then hyung. Let’s drink now. My treat.”
I spent the rest of the night with Kyuhyun and we caught up with the things that were going on in our lives.
It’s been two weeks since Haein and I got back together again. Things were going great for us. Everyone took the news well and they were happy for us. Umma was the happiest though. She told me that she prayed and wished every night that Haein and I would find our way back together. Appa and hyung were happy too. They like Haein and thought she brought joy into all of our lives. Appa was thankful for her because she was the reason why I came back and worked for appa. I haven’t heard or seen Jieun over these past two weeks but I know that she’ll come back to do something so I just have to be on the look out. I told the guys and they told me that they’ll help me also. The guys were thrilled about the news and decided to throw us a party. I was in my room getting ready for the get together/party when I heard a knocking on the door. It was appa.
“Are you busy son?”
“Not really. Why appa?”
“Just wondering. Going out with Haein?”
“De. The guys are throwing a party and they invited us. Are you disappointed in me appa?”
“Why would you say that?”
“Because I canceled the wedding and you told me that you wanted me to get married.”
“It’s true that I wanted you to get married but I don’t want you to marry someone you don’t love. Haein’s a nice girl. I like her. Just take your time son. She was already our daughter in law once so I can wait.” He smiled at me.
“Thanks appa. I have to go now. I’ll see you later.”
“Have fun and take care of Haein.”
I walked to my car and took out my phone and dialed Haein’s number.
“Babe?”
“Yeah. Are you on the way oppa?”
“Yeah. I’ll be there in fifteen minutes so just get ready.”
“Okay. I’ll see you soon oppa.”
“Kay. I love you.”
“I love you too. Bye.”
I finally arrived at Haein’s apartment and called her down. She came down wearing a simple black strapless dress with a white cardigan over it. It was a simple outfit yet she looked beautiful. She saw me and walked right up to me.
“You know you should close your mouth.” She teased me.
“Whatever. You look beautiful.” I smiled at her which caused her to blush. “Aww is my baby blushing?”
“Let’s go.” She said and got in the car.
I got in my car and drove off. I used my free hand and grabbed her hand. I intertwined our hands together and pulled our hands up to where I can kiss her hand. I looked over at her and gave her a smile. She smiled back at me.
“You should keep your eyes on the road. I don’t want to die yet.”
“I’m sorry. You’re just so breath taking. I can’t keep my eyes off of you.”
“Here we go again with your corniness!” I laughed at him.
“But you love me.” I replied.
The whole car ride was like that. We would just tease each other and laugh. We finally arrived at Eunhyuk’s house.
“Hae. Haein. You guys are here.” Eunhyuk saw us and ran up to us. “There’s lots of food for you guys.”
“De. Thanks oppa. Thanks for throwing us this party. It’s unnecessary though.” She told him.
“Nonsense. We love you guys so it’s not unnecessary. Bommie planned it all so you need to thank her!” He smiled at us.
“Hyukjae oppa where are the plates?” Bommie asked me. She didn’t notice us at first. “OMO YOU GUYS ARE HERE ALREADY?! WELCOME!” she shouted at us.
We all just laughed at Bom. Eunhyuk then pulled her by his side and gave her a kiss on the cheeks. I’m glad that they’re together… they’re perfect together… I’m glad that Eunhyuk is truly happy with Bom. Thank you Bom for bringing happiness into Eunhyuk’s life.
“Oppa? What’s wrong?” I heard Haein asking me.
“Nothing. Let’s go.” I took her hand and guided her into the living room. There was a lot of people there. There was Siwon, Minho, Taemin, Minji, Ri In, Seulgi, Junsu(Eunhyuk’s coworker), and Kyuhyun.
“Unnie you’re here!” Minji ran over to Haein and pulled her into a hug. Haein just hugged her back and laughed.
“I see that you guys already met my coworkers.” Haein told Minji.
“De. They’re nice. I like them.” Minji told her.
“Haein… about time you guys came.” Seulgi came over and .
“Whatever. Where’s Ri In?” She asked Seulgi.
“She’s talking with Eunhyuk-ssi’s coworker. I think they’re into each other. You should’ve seen it! When they first saw each other you can see the sparks in their eyes already. It was so cute. And they’ve been flirting with each other so far. I see a new potential couple.” Seulgi told Haein.
“NO WAY! And she said no guys are into her.” Haein replied. “Oppa I’m going to hang out with the girls now. You can go mingles with your homies.”
“Homies?!” I started laughing. “Yah since when did you talk like a gangster?”
“Since I started dating you.” She smiled and leaned in and gave me a kiss. “I’ll see you around oppa.” She winked at me before leaving with the girls.
“Look at you hyung. You’re just standing here by yourself smiling like an idiot. If I didn’t know you I would’ve thought you were some crazy person.” Minho teased me.
“Hae, you’re totally smitten by Haein.” Siwon added.
“Next thing you’ll know is that hyung is completely whipped by noona.” Taemin said.
I stared at them and dogged them.
“Whoa. We haven’t seen that look in years.” Siwon teased me.
“Whatever. I don’t’ care what you guys say because I am happy. I’m totally in love with Haein and I don’t deny it.” I told them with a smile on my face.
“You’re so gross hyung. Stop being so cheesy. I think I’m going to barf.” Taemin said.
We all laughed at him. Oh maknae, why are you still so innocent?
Haein’s POV
“Oh Haein you’re here already.” Ri In said and walked over to me.
“Hey. I see you’re having fun already?” I smirked at her.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She blushed.
“Liar. I can see love at first sight written all over your face.” I smiled at her.
“Whatever. I’ll introduce you guys to each other.” She told me and dragged me over to him.
“Who’s this Ri In?” The guy asked her.
“Oppa this is Lee Haein. She’s my coworker and she’s Donghae’s girlfriend.” Ri In said.
“Nice to meet you Haein-ssi. I’m Kim Junsu. I work with Eunhyuk.” He smiled at me.
“Ah I see. Just call me Haein. And I hope you have a great time with Ri In.” I smirked at them and they were both blushing.
“Lee Haein! I’m going to kill you!” Ri In whispered.
“Whatever. You’re going to thank me for this.” I whispered to her. “I’m going to go to the others now. You two have fun!”
I was smiling to myself and saw Minji and Bommie sitting at the table talking with one another. I wonder what they were talking about… they were laughing like crazy.
“What are you guys laughing about?” I asked them while sitting next to them.
“Do you hear something Minji ah?” Bommie asked Minji.
“Nopes. I don’t hear anything.” Minji smiled at her.
“You guys are so mean! Fine I’m going to leave this party.” I pouted and got up from my seat but Bommie pulled me back.
“We’re kidding. We’re just talking about how everything’s been great.” Bommie said.
“Yeah. Everyone’s happy so I’m happy.” Minji smiled.
“I hope everything will be like this.” I said.
“Same here. So what do you think of the party so far?” Bom unnie asked.
“It’s fun. It’s great to see everyone again.” I told her. “Thanks for planning everything Bommie. You’re the best.”
“I know I am.” She smirked at me.
We spent the night eating and talking to one another. Nights like these were priceless. It was great to get away from everything and just hang out with your loved ones and not have any drama at all. It was getting late so everyone decided to head out and go our separate ways. Donghae was driving me home and we both didn’t say anything in the car. I was tired and I know he was tired too. We finally arrived in front of my apartment.
“Thanks for taking me home oppa. I’ll see you tomorrow.” I smiled at him and leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.
“That’s all you’re going to give me?” He pouted.
“Oppa. I’m tired. Good night.” I told him and he grabbed my arm to prevent me from leaving the car.
“I’m not going to let you go until you give me a kiss.” He told me.
“You’re so childish oppa! Let me go. I’m tired.” I whined.
“Not until I get my kiss. Just one kiss.” He said.
“You always say that but then it ends with many kisses.” I told him.
“Not this time. One kiss okay?” He begged.
“Fine.” I rolled my eyes and he pulled me into a passionate kiss. After a few minutes of kissing, he broke the kiss.
“Okay. You can leave now.” He smiled at me. “Good night and I love you.”
Damn it. Why did he have to kiss me like that? He’s such a tease. Now I want him to sleep over and cuddle with him. I just sat there.
“What’s wrong baby? Aren’t you tired?” He said.
“Nothing’s wrong. Good night Donghae. I love you and call me when you get back home.” I told him.
“Alright. Night.” He said. I was about to leave but stopped and looked at him.
“Can’t you spend the night at my place?” I asked him. Why did I even ask him that? I’m such an idiot!!
“What?”
“Nothing. Night.” I said and got off of the car quickly and ran into the building. I’m such an idiot. He probably thinks I’m needy now.
I walked into the elevator and waited for it to arrive on my floor. I was finally home. I went to the bathroom to wash up. After I was done, I just sat in my bed waiting for Donghae to call me. I wonder if he’s home already. He should be home… did something happen to him? I heard a knock on my door. Who could it be this late at night? I got up from my bed and walked towards the door and opened it. To my surprise it was Donghae and he had a bag in his hand.
“Oppa? What are you doing here?” I asked him.
“Can I spend the night here with you?” He smiled. “And you can’t say no because I heard what you asked me in the car.”
“If you heard then why’d you leave and why are you back now? Where’d you even go then?” I asked him.
“I went home to pack clothes so I can just go straight to work tomorrow.” He showed me his bag.
“That’s a big bag though. Why did you pack so much when you’re just going to stay overnight?” I asked him.
“Who says I’m staying for one night?” He smirked at me. “So can I spend the night?”
“De. Come in.” I moved out of the way so he can come in. “How long are you planning to stay here for?”
“As long as I want to.” He told me and walked towards my room.
“Yah! Who says you can go into my room?!” I followed him.
“I did. And I did recall that you wanted to cuddle with me tonight.” He teased me.
“I didn’t say that! I just asked if you wanted to spend the night!” I told him.
“And I know you wanted me to spend the night so you can cuddle with me.”
“You’re so mean!” I pouted at him and he just laughed at me and pulled me into a hug.
“I’m just kidding baby. Let me go wash up and we can go to bed after.” He broke the hug and walked towards the bathroom.
I just got in my bed and waited for him to finish. I couldn’t help but feel giddy that he’s here with me right now. I can’t believe he drove all the way home to get clothes and drove back here. I couldn’t help but smile. He makes me feel so giddy and happy…
“What’s my baby smiling about?” I heard him asking me.
“Nothing.” I told him and saw him walking towards the bed. He was in a wife beater and sweats but he still looked hot.
“Baby I know I’m hot but can you stop staring at me?” He told me.
“I-I was staring at you! And who says you’re hot?!” I told him.
“Don’t deny it baby. You know I’m hot.” He teased me and got into bed.
“Who says you can sleep on the bed with me!? Sleep on the floor or sleep outside!” I told him.
“This isn’t our first time sleeping together baby. No need to be shy.” He got in the bed with me and pulled me into his chest. “I like this feeling. Ani, I love this feeling.”
“What feeling oppa?” I mumbled in his chest.
“The feeling of having you in my arms. It makes me feel so warm in my heart.” He told me.
“You’re only saying that because you don’t want to sleep on the floor or sleep outside.” I told him.
“Ani. I’m saying it because I really mean it. It feels good to have you in my arms.”
“Stop being like this.”
“Like what?”
“Sweet. I can’t make fun of you if you’re always this sweet.” I told him and I heard him chuckling.
“Well get use to it baby. You’re going to hear a lot of sweet things coming from my mouth if it has to do with you.”
“Whatever. Let’s go to bed now oppa.” I yawned and closed my eyes.
“Good night baby.” He said and that was the last thing I heard him saying before heading to dreamland.
Donghae’s POV
I woke up and saw that Haein was still sleeping soundly in my arms. I realized that I miss having her in my arms. I realized that I want to wake up with her in the morning and sleep with her at night time. Call me crazy but I want to propose to her again. I know we just got back together but I want to spend the rest of my life with her. I heard my phone ringing and it was my secretary.
“Hello?”
“Mr. Lee there’s been a change of plans. Your clients are on their way right now since they’ll be busy tomorrow. You need to come in now.” She told me.
“Alright. I’m on my way. Just stall for me if I’m not there in thirty minutes.” I told her and hung up on her.
I slowly removed my arm from Haein and walked to the bathroom to get ready. After I was done with everything, I entered the room again and Haein was awake this time. She was sitting up on her bed while rubbing her eyes.
“You’re going to work already oppa?” She asked me.
“Yeah. My client won’t be able to make it tomorrow so he’s pushing up the meeting to today.” I told her.
“Do you want breakfast before you leave?”
“Ani. I have to go right now. He’s on his way. I’ll grab something to eat later. Go back to sleep baby.” I told her.
“You have to remember to eat okay? Don’t work all day.” She told me and got up from the bed and walked towards me.
“I know. I’ll eat after I’m done with my client.” I smiled at her.
“Alright. Good luck and have fun at work.” She told me.
“Do you have work today?” I asked her.
“Today’s my day off.”
“Really now? Well, let’s go out for lunch. I’ll call you when I’m done with everything.” I told her.
“Arasso oppa. Go to work now or else you’ll be late.” She said and started pushing me out the door.
“Wait. Where’s my goodbye kiss?” I asked her.
“I have morning breath so you just have to live without your goodbye kiss today.” She told me.
“I don’t care.” I told her and pulled her into a kiss.
“You should go now oppa.” She blushed.
“I love you and I’ll call you later.” I told her and headed to work.
I arrived at my office and my secretary told me that my client is already in my office waiting for me. . I hope he’s not mad at me and bails out on the company. I walked into my room and saw that my client was already sitting on the couch waiting for me.
“I’m sorry I’m late. There was traffic and I wasn’t expecting you today so I was sleeping when my secretary called.” I said.
“It’s no big deal. It’s my fault anyways. I changed the plans last minute so you didn’t know what was going on.” He told me.
I didn’t look at him and got out all the paper works and headed towards the couch.
“Thank you and thank you for waiting. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting long.” I apologized and looked at him. Wait. Why does this guy look so familiar? I looked down at my files and the name read Kwon Jiyong.
