SeungHyun's POV

I watched JiYong and Hilary from behind and couldn't help but feel a pain on my chest.  I should be the one beside Hilary to comfort her, to make her laugh.  Not JiYong.  I wanted to walk over to them, but somehow dared not to.

I explicitly told Jenny about Hilary and I were back together.  As expected, she didn't take it well.

~Flashback~

"What are you talking about?" Jenny asked.

I looked her in the eyes and said, "Hilary and I are back together now."

Jenny looked at me with her eyes opened wide, "Back together.  You two were together before?"

I nodded, "We were separated because of some misunderstanding.  But now everything is cleared and we are back together.  Jenny, I'm sorry that I have given you the wrong impression.  But I have always treated you as a friend only.  I apologize if I have done anything that misled you to think otherwise.  I'm really sorry..."

She let out a cold laugh, "Sorry?  You are telling me you are sorry?  We attend events together as a couple and now you are saying we are just friends?"

I inhaled slowly and said, "I never said anything about we being a couple.  Friends can attend events together as partners too, Jenny.  This may sound a bit irresponsible or offensive to you, but I have never done anything to you which a boyfriend would do to his girlfriend.  Techinically, we never dated.  We just went to events together."  I knew I sounded nothing like a gentleman which I really hated.  I have never talked to a woman like this; but I really didn't know what I should do to make her understand since she didn't seem to be a woman who I could be reasoned with.

She looked me in the eyes and said, "You used me to make her jealous, didn't you?"

I took a deep breath and said, "Not exactly.  We only attended two events together, Jenny.  The first one was Hilary's welcoming party.  I didn't even know it was her welcoming party.  You dragged me there, remember?  As for JiYong's dinner, I told you to go on your own.  But you insisted me to go."

"We had dinner alone a couple times." She said.

"Yes, we did.  Once, we bumped into each other at the restaurant and you suggested to sit together.  I couldn't say no.  The other time, you simply hopped on my car outside my office.  I didn't have a choice either.  Jenny, can we not dig everything out like this?  I don't want to be rude to you.  I know I should have made it clear to you at the very beginning; then you wouldn't have got the wrong impression on our relationship.  But I really didn't know how to lay that out to you since I didn't want to embarrass or offend you." I said sincerely, hoping she would somehow understand.

Jenny let out a cold laugh and said, "You already offended me."

"Jenny..." I didn't know what else could I say.

"Choi SeungHyun, don't forget what you have done today.  I, Jenny Park, am not a person who you can toy with.  You'll regret this for sure."  She threw me a death glare before she walked away.

I let out a heavy sigh and couldn't help but have a feeling she wouldn't let this go so easily.  I really had to find away to deal with her and make sure Hilary wouldn't get any hurt from this.

Hilary's POV

I asked JiYong to go back to the ballroom first since I wanted to be alone for a while.  I put my elbow on the balustrade and leaned forward a little as I tapped my foot on the glass window.  If I haven't promised my grandfather that I would stay for the whole dinner, I would have left already.

"Why are you here alone?"  It was SeungHyun's voice.

I put up a smile and turned to him, "And why are you not inside?"

SeungHyun put his hand on my waist and said, "Coz I am looking for my girlfriend."

I smiled, "So, have you found her yet?"

He nodded his head and leaned forward to kiss me on the cheek, "Mmm...  Found her and never letting go again."  I blushed as he pulled me close to himself by my waist.

"I'm sorry about Jenny Park." He whispered.  I shook my head with a smile as he continued, "I've already made it clear to her that you and I are back together now.  I should have made it clear to her from the beginning, then none of this would have happened.  I'm sorry."

"It's OK.  I somehow can understand why she was angry.  I'm fine." I said.

SeungHyun looked me in the eyes suspiciously.  I chuckled, "I'm really fine.  Don't worry!  If she does anything again, I'll let you know."

"Promise?"

I nodded, "I have to go back inside."  He took my hand and said, "OK!  Let's go back."

I hesitated but he gave me a reassuring smile which gave me confidence and strength.  I took a deep breath and walked back inside with him, hand in hand.

People turned their heads to look at us.  I fidgeted a little but SeungHyun hung on to my hand tightly.  Everyone was seated and dinner was about to start.  SeungHyun and I headed towards my table.  When we walked pass SeungHyun's table, I saw Mrs. Choi glared at me with piercing eyes.  I immediately let go of SeungHyun's hand and whispered, "I'll go back myself.  You take your seat."

SeungHyun said, "It's alright.  I'll walk you to your table first."

I shook my head, "No.  I'll go by myself.  I'll see you later."  I gave him a smile and walked away on my own.  Mrs. Choi's fierce look sent me shivers down the spine.  I have never felt so nervous before.  Not even when my mother was angry.  I held my hands together tightly as I walked over to the head table.  DaeSung quickly stepped up to me and whispered, "Are you alright?"

I looked at him and smiled, "Yes, I'm good."  He nodded his head, "Good.  Take your seat."

I walked over to my seat which was right between to grandfather and Dara.  I sat down and smiled to the guests at the same table.  Dara leaned a little closer to me and asked, "How are you?"

I whispered back, "Fine.  Don't worry!"  I looked up at found WooBin Oppa looked at me in concern.  I nodded my head with a reassuring smile and he nodded as well.

I didn't eat much during the whole dinner for I didn't have the appetite.  Not because of Jenny Park, but because of SeungHyun's mother.  I glanced at her from time to time and found her wore a long face during the whole dinner.  I shouldn't have walked into the ballroom hand in hand with SeungHyun.  No, I shouldn't have run away on the engagement day in the first place.  But the harm done was done.  Regrets wouldn't make any difference now.  I needed to find a way to turn everything around.

"Hill?  Why are you not eating?  Not feeling well?" Dara patted me on the arm and whispered.

I shook my head, "No.  Just don't have the appetite."

"Why?  Because of Jenny?" Dara whispered.

I chuckled, "No."

"Mrs. Choi then?"

I looked up at Dara in surprise.  She let out a soft sigh, "I saw the way she looked at you."  I looked away casually and picked up my wine glass.

Dara grabbed my hand and said, "She is just angry.  As long as you two stick together, she will understand sooner or later."

I nodded with a smile.

Love was never simple and never just something between two persons, especially in our circle.  I knew it would not be easy for SeungHyun and me since thousands pairs of eyes were on us and everyone was waiting for us to slip so that they could attack and knock us down.   For that I didn't really care how people would look at us.  After all, I never cared about the gossip and stuff.  But if it
