Hilary's POV

Mother called for a family dinner at the Mansion.  I didn't want to go since I knew what she had in mind.  The dinner would merely be her tool to push me to make another official announcement on what was going on between SeungHyun and me.  Another reason for me not wanting to join the dinner was that WooBin Oppa was still mad at me and we haven't seen or talked to each other since last time we bumped into each other at the restaurant.

DaeSung pushed me out of the office and said, "You can't hide.  Just go!"

"Oppa!" I drew my brows together and said, "I don't want to go."

"It's a family dinner.  How can you not go?  Sajang Nim will be there as well.  What are you worrying about?  Come on!" DaeSung pushed me forward again.

"Alright!  Stop pushing me!  I'll walk on my own."

DaeSung drew his hands back and said, "Good.  We are running late."

I straightened my dress and said, "Well, I'm always late.  So..."

He rolled his eyes and said, "Yes, you like to make an entrance.  But do you have any idea that I get scolded everytime you are late?"

I held my steps and looked at DaeSung, "What do you mean?  By whom?  Mother?  Why didn't you tell me?"

He smiled, "It's OK.  Part of my job anyway."

"NO!  It is not.  Being scolded is not one of your job specs.  GOD!  You should have told me.  I totally didn't know.  I'm sorry, Oppa!"

DaeSung laughed, "It's really OK.  I'm immune to it."

I laughed, "Just like me, huh?"

He chuckled, "Let's go!"

As usual, I was late again.

I walked into the living room and found that Dara was here as well.  I was glad that she has become part of our family now.  I slightly nodded my head with a smile and she smiled at me back.  I stepped up to my grandfather and crouched down beside him, "Grandpa, how are you?"

Grandfather patted on my hand and said, "Good!  But I will be better if I can see you more often."

"I'll try to come often."

He laughed, "No, you won't!"

I blushed a little, "Grandpa!"  I stood up and nodded my head at my mother, "Mother!"

I then sat down on the sofa beside Grandpa.  I took a glance at WooBin Oppa and found him looked away with a poker face.  He was still mad at me.  I let out a soft sigh and said, "Shall we eat now?  I'm hungry."

"We still have a guest." Mother said with a smirk.

WooBin, Dara and I all looked up at her at once.  Just when I was about to ask who the guest was, DaeSung came and said, "Mrs. Kim, your guest has arrived."

I looked up immediately and was stunned by whom I saw.  My jaw dropped and eyes wide-opened.  I turned to look at my mother and found her smirking at me.  I gritted my teeth and walked over to our GUEST.

I looked at our GUEST in the eyes and whispered, "What are you doing here?"

HE shrugged with a smile.  I slightly drew my brows together and grabbed him by the arm to pull him away, "You should have told me.  You better leave.  I'll handle it."

"It's OK.  I can take care of myself."  HE whispered back with a smile and walked over to the elders.  I let out a heavy sigh and followed HIM.

"Jang Hwaejang Nim, Mrs. Kim, thank you for inviting me for dinner tonight." HE bowed politely and said with a smile.

WooBin Oppa looked up at HIM and was shocked as well.  Dara was the one didn't find this awkward at all and smirked.

"SeungHyun, sit down!" Mother said.

SeungHyun glanced at me with a smile before he sat down.

I was all prepared for mother to deride me tonight; but I never imagined in my wildest dream that she would simply invite SeungHyun to join our family dinner like this and not to mention, SeungHyun actually agreed.  I totally didn't know how to react to the current situation.

Just when I was about to sat down beside grandfather, mother said, "Go sit with SeungHyun.  Why are you sitting on the sofa arm while there are lots of seats available?"

I glanced at her and let out a sigh before I sat down beside SeungHyun.  My mind couldn't think straight; but I needed to think of something to tackle the situation.  To prepare for whatever my mother would do.

"So, this should be the first time you come to have dinner with us, if I remember correctly?" Mother said with a smile.

"Yes, Mrs. Kim." SeungHyun replied.  I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye and found him all tensed up.  He sat with his back straight and hands held together on the lap.  I couldn't help but chuckle a little at him.

"DaeSung?" Mother suddenly called for DaeSung.

"Yes, Mrs. Kim." DaeSung came up to her immediately.

"Is dinner ready?"

"Yes, Mrs. Kim."

"Good.  SeungHyun, let's have dinner first." Mother stood up as she said.  She then helped grandfather to stand up and led him to the dining room.

WooBin Oppa slightly nodded his head to SeungHyun, still with a poker face while Dara smirked at both of us as they followed mother and grandfather.

I pulled SeungHyun back and asked, "Why didn't you tell me you are coming over tonight?"

He smiled and brushed my cheek, "I received a call from your mother 45 minutes ago.  She sounded so gentle and all, I couldn't say no."

I rolled my eyes, "You can at least text me.  I could have cover for you and you wouldn't have to come."

He tapped me on the nose and asked, "You don't want to see me here?"

I sighed, "That's not what I mean......"

"Kim Isa Nim?" DaeSung called for me from behind.  I looked up at him and he slightly tilted his head to signal me to head to the dining room.

I let out a heavy sigh and just didn't want to go.  SeungHyun took my hand and said, "Let's go.  I'm hungry."  I shook my head with a soft laugh as I followed him to the dining room.

SeungHyun's POV

I was on the way back to the office after a business meeting when I received Mrs. Kim's call.  I somehow didn't know how to reject her since she was after all Hilary's mother.  And considered our current situation, I didn't seem to have a choice at all.  I didn't tell Hilary beforehand since I knew she would not want me to come because she would probably be worried about what her mother would say or do to me.  I was a little worried too but I was willing to take up the challenge for the woman I loved.

Hilary and I walked into the dining room.  I pulled the chair for her and she smiled to me before she sat down.  I then sat down beside her.  I glanced at WooBin Hyeong and found him staring at me.  He must be wondering what I was doing here.  I should have informed him about Hilary and I before this, then maybe he wouldn't be caught by surprise like this.

Hilary's POV

"SeungHyun, I haven't asked our maids to prepare much for tonight.  It's just a simple family dinner.  Hope you don't mind!" Mother said with a gentle voice.

I looked at the dishes on the table and couldn't help but let out a laugh.  Abalone, fish, chicken, pork rib and beef.  These were NOT much.  She really had a different meaning of 'much' from anybody else.
