Seated in her office, Minneul was busy typing a case write up of her patient when her phone rang. She fixed her round spectacle before she grabbed her phone and immediately answered the call as she saw the caller. Her eyes never leave the laptop screen.

“Yes, Myungsoo. What’s up?” She kept quiet as she listened to Myungsoo’s words. Her fingers were playing with the mouse.

“Yeah, sure. No problem.” She waited for Myungsoo’s reply before scrunching her nose, thinking of something.

“Hmm, how about next Tuesday?” She suggested a day for the appointment.

“Alright, no biggie. Take care!” She ended the call after he agreed with her suggestion.

She then smiled thinking of Myungsoo, her best friend since childhood. Myungsoo and Minneul had been friend since they were 12 years old. Ever since his debut, it was hard to see him, but they made sure to keep in contact with each other, given that their family were close. The last time she saw him was last month and it was during their family gathering. She remembered Myungsoo getting nagged by his mother for not seeing Minneul often. Minneul only laughed it off because she knew Myungsoo’s mother loved her like her own daughter.

Minneul changed her gaze from the laptop screen towards the door as her assistant stepped into the room.

“What are you smiling at, Doctor Park?” Asked Richan. Minneul shook her head, pretending there was nothing.

“It’s nothing. Is there any patient waiting outside?” She asked, eyes back on the screen. Richan shook her head while arranging the documents she had in her arm on the shelf.

“Nope. The patient just now was the last one.” Minneul sighed in relief. As much as she loved her career, she reached her limit for the day. Nevertheless, she was glad she was able to serve her patient with utmost care.

“Is there any patient who made an appointment with me on next Tuesday?” Minneul asked. She was worried if the appointment she arranged for Myungsoo would clash with other appointment without she even noticed.

“There’s none. Why? Anyone made an appointment with you? Is it your relative?”

“Nope. It’s my best friend’s friend.” Minneul answered as she looked away from her laptop screen. She then was startled by Richan who sat on the chair in front of her with a grin on her face. Minneul looked at her in confusion.

“Doctor Park, can I ask you something?”

“What is it?”

“Are you taken?” Minneul was flustered by the question. She had always thought Richan as a shy and polite girl but when she asked this kind of question, Minneul was a bit surprised. Perhaps, Richan has gotten comfortable to talk with her now.

“Why did you ask?” Minneul refused to answer right away. She needed to know what made Richan curious about it.

“Because of that.” Richan pointed her index finger towards a diamond ring on Minneul’s ring finger. Minneul looked at her ring with a dumbfounded look before chuckling a moment later.

“This is a present from my mom’s friend. I love the shape and the design. That’s why I always wear it. There’s no other meaning.” Minneul explained. Richan nodded with a sly smile. Minneul was not sure what’s the meaning behind that smile, but she hoped Richan believed it.

“I see. Okay, Doctor Park. I got to wash these.” She stood up and went out of the room with a tray with used syringe, needles and used gauze in it. Minneul nodded her head and followed Richan’s figure with her eyes until she disappeared behind the door. She shook her head while smiling before focusing back on her work just now.
