42. What Cavemen Do

Somehow the night seemed too short, yet she was too tired. All Seohyun wanted to do was to curl in bed possibly next to Euna— and him. She smiled at the thought as she rested her head by the window closing her eyes.

“Tired?”

She heard him spoke softly. They haven’t said much to each other for the rest of the way. She shook her head, “Not really, just sleepy…”

“Take a nap,” Yonghwa replied, “I’ll wake you when we get there.”

And she did fell asleep without intending to, only to be awoken by him when they got home. The house was quiet, it was almost ten and just about her sleep time when she would retreat back upstairs after spending some time with him at his workplace.

“Do you want coffee?” She asked when they reached the living room.

Yonghwa chuckled. It somehow became a routine for them to do this but he shook his head this time, “I think I’ll turn in.”

She nodded and walked upstairs with him behind her. When they reached the bedroom, Yuri was sitting on the bed with a book in hand while Euna slept beside her. She looked up and was rather surprised to see them. Seohyun slid on the bed and pecked a kiss on her baby while Yonghwa sat next to her.

“Did she give you a hard time?” He asked.

“She was rather calm and only cried when she was sleepy,” Yuri smiled, “I even believe you were exaggerating when you told me she might get cranky and cry all night.”

Seohyun laughed softly, “She was showing off then…”

Yuri straightened and closed her book, “Anyway, why are you two so early? I was expecting you to come by midnight.”

Yonghwa looked at Seohyun and grinned then shrugged.

“Aigoo, you were worried,” Yuri clicked her tongue.

“It’s not that, Unnie,” Seohyun shook her head, “I-I was just tired.”

She grimaced obviously not satisfied with that answer, “Fine… so, I think I should head home too.”

“You can sleep here,” Yonghwa stood, “There’s the guest rooms or you can sleep here with Seohyun.”

Yuri shook her head with a smile, “It’s fine. It’s even earlier than my usual Friday night to be home.”

“Oh, I’m sorry Unnie if we took your time,” Seohyun sat and watched her unnie stand then waved a hand at her.

“Stop that, I told you I want to do this,” Yuri looked at the sleeping baby, “I can babysit anytime, you know? I love spending time with Euna, she’s just too adorable.”

“Are you sure?” Yonghwa snickered, “We might really take advantage of that.”

Seohyun rolled her eyes at him then stood, “Okay Unnie, thank you so much…”

“You’re welcome,” Yuri accepted her younger friend’s outstretched arms as they hugged.

“Why don’t you walk Yuri to the driveway?” He suggested as he moved closer to Euna, “I’ll look after her.”

Seohyun nodded while Yuri started to the door. When she looked over her shoulder, she noticed him kissing Euna’s cheek so she frowned, “Don’t wake her or she’ll be sleeping beside you tonight.”

Yonghwa chuckled and made a show of kissing their baby some more.

Seohyun groaned because she knew it was what he actually wanted.

Yonghwa watched her retreating figure and noticed her . He should give himself a pat for choosing that dress. It was polite up front but the back showed too much skin. He was definitely hesitant back at the party thinking that she might be uncomfortable of it but realized in the end that she didn’t mind. Her confidence wearing that dress surprised him and he found it really y. The Seohyun he knew was simple and mild-mannered, and having to dress y with confidence was what he really did not expect.

He especially loved the way she seemed to shiver when he would put his hand on the small of her back to guide her as they walked. It was even unnecessary but he must take advantage of every chance he got to touch her and know his effect on her.

Now he thought of how easily he could just push the short sleeves down to her belly knowing too well that she wasn’t wearing a bra. He grinned imaging things he could do to her while he perched her on his drafting table downstairs, or the kitchen counter would also be a nice place to explore  her deeper.

So nice to think of the wicked ways he would make her skin blush.

Damn.

He shot his eyes tight and realized that he was into a deeper trouble thinking this way. He sighed and left the bed since he could already see the tell-tale sign of his undeniable lust for her.

Delayed gratification.

He reminded himself.

“How was it?” Yuri asked the moment they stepped out in the lawn.

“It was good, having to meet his friends and the people in the firm.” Seohyun smiled remembering their moment in his office, “He took me to his office. He had two pictures on Euna on his desk.”

Yuri chuckled, “He’s really your daughter’s fool.”

“He is,” Seohyun nodded.

“How about you?” Yuri asked when they reached smaller bridge, “Does he have a picture of you?”

It made her laugh then she shook her head, “No. But one of those pictures have me in the background. But of course, it was only about Euna. I’m just the background.”

“Does it make you feel jealous?”

“Unnie,” Seohyun grumbled lightly, “Why would I be jealous of my own daughter?”
