Chapter 107. Impressions

After the longest hug they ever shared, Seohyun faced the scene in front of them again wiping her tears with the back of her hand. She smiled up to him as she carefully asked, “How are umma and appa?”

Joowon scoffed, “You should ask them yourself.”

“If only that’s easy,” she replied heaving a sigh.

“It is easy,” he turned to face her that gave her no choice but to meet his gaze. But Joowon must have noticed the fear and uncertainty she was projecting that he continued softly, “They will never try to reach out to you first, you know that.”

“I know,” Seohyun replied almost stubbornly but sighed when her Oppa raised a brow at her, “It’s hard, Oppa. I think I failed them again.”

“What do you mean by ‘again’?” He elbowed her gently giving an encouraging grin, “We make mistakes, Seohyun and we own them. Besides, if you introduce your baby to them, I’m sure that they will forgive you easily.”

That made her definitely smile thinking of showing her baby to her parents, “I don’t know about that.” Seeing Euna with Yonghwa’s parents, she could tell that her baby would easily be comfortable then steal their hearts away— if that was possible. The last time she saw them, they were on the verge of ‘selling’ her— their own daughter. That reminded her of everything that she abruptly turned to her brother again, “You do know that they set me up with someone?”

Joowon only frowned and whether he was acting out, she couldn’t tell and she was already starting to get agitated anyway so she just fired away, “I heard that they wanted the wedding arrangement to happen soon.”

“Is that why you eloped with him?”

“What—?” She looked at him in surprise then turned away biting her tongue for a second, “That’s why they’re probably even more mad— especially Appa. I ruined their plans. And probably their reputation.”

“You probably did,” he nodded, “But you are their daughter. If they were that mad, they would have disowned you by now.”

“Maybe they already did,” she shrugged because she was expecting that, “I just didn’t get the memo.”

Joowon laughed patting her back then added coolly, “You know that it would be better for you to marry Yonghwa, right? It would leave Appa no choice but to accept this.”

She nodded, “Not yet…”

Joowon watched her for a second then groaned, “You’re being stubborn again.”

“It’s my life, Oppa. I would be the one dealing with the consequences if I act carelessly on this.”

“Marrying him would be a careless choice?”

She shook her head mumbling, “It is at the moment.”

Joowon was about to protest when they heard Yuri cooing followed by a loud baby squeal. Seohyun smiled up to her brother and walked back in the study just as her unnie did with her baby.

“Euna is here,” Yuri announced bouncing the baby in her arms that had her making those little squeals until she spotted her umma from across the room and she started crying for her. Her imo laughed softly, “Aigoo, it’s like you haven’t seen your mother for a year.”

“A few minutes is a year in Euna’s mind,” she replied meeting them halfway and cooed at her little one, “Right, sweetheart? It felt like a long time.” She showered her baby with kisses that she obviously liked then sat beside her oppa on the couch.

“Where are Euna’s baby albums?” Yuri asked taking the other available seat away from them.

Seohyun couldn’t help but smile when she noticed but she didn’t want to make the two of them uncomfortable by pointing it out so she just put Euna on the floor and walked to the drawers.

“Look at her,” Joowon chuckled watching Euna crawling on the floor and tailing at her umma, “She looks like a puppy.”

She giggled stopping deliberately from her tracks and they all laughed when Euna stopped and landed on her bottom near her feet. Seohyun walked again and her little puppy happily followed along, “We’re like this all day. She just follows me all over the place.”

Once she found what she was looking for, Seohyun grabbed the four large albums inside the drawer and carried them to where her oppa was sitting. She frowned upon noticing the grin spreading on his face, “What now?”

“Euna is how old? Seven months?” Despite the obvious tease, he stood and took the heavy books from her and continued, “And you already have this much picture?”

She couldn’t help but smile as well realizing that he was right, “Well, I’m sure you’d understand once you start having your own babies.”

“And when do you think that is, Yuri?” He sat beside her and laughed when she gave him an uninterested shrug.

“Aigoo, you two,” Seohyun giggled and sat on the floor beside her baby watching her oppa starting to leaf through the first album. Euna seemed contented for a moment to just sit, her hand and watch the exchanges of the adults in the room until her attention seemed to get taken by what her uncle was holding. She crawled to him and used the fabrics of his pants to hold on to him so she could stand. Joowon jerked for a bit obviously unsure how he should react to this sudden approach until she managed to keep herself up.

“Heh,” she giggled up at him and started hitting the open page of the album.

“Uh, hi?” Joowon spoke tentatively and the women laughed.

“She doesn’t bite, Oppa,” Yuri said then took the book from him and coaxed him to stand while Seohyun was already beside the baby keeping her upright. Joowon was confused for a moment until she sat on the flo
