Chapter 125. Impressions

“Puppy, stop taking your shoes off,” Seohyun muttered with her hands on her hips but laughed when her baby babbled back at her which sounded more like a grumble so she replied, “I know, sweetheart, but you have to put them on…”

Euna grinned crinkling her nose on the process while she took the said shoes on both hands then clapped them together as if she was mocking her umma. Then, she dropped one shoe on the floor and hugged the other, her blue Shirley Temple dress getting crinkled on the process.

“Arasso,” she heaved a heavy sigh then mumbled to herself in defeat, “I shouldn’t have put you in that dress just yet.”

Seohyun was about to return to her room to continue prepping herself when the alarm sounded and the baby looked up to her with her eyes big and lips pursed after a tiny squeak. She laughed at her baby’s reaction, “Who’s at the door, Euna?”

Picking her up from the floor then tucked her on her side, Seohyun walked to the alarm system and pushed a button, “Hi, Appa… come on in…”

“Neh…” he replied lilting making Euna giggle.

“You wait here?” She cooed placing her baby on her jumper so she wouldn’t crawl around the room soiling her pretty dress. She then met Yonghwa halfway inside the apartment and smiled finding him looking smart and sharp in a two-piece dark blue suit that complimented her teal evening dress. Stopping just before she could reach him, Seohyun laughed softly when he bit his lower lip in a y knowing smirk. She missed this— this easy flirtations, but it’s more meaningful now. “Hey…” she greeted once he was a foot away to kiss.

“Hey back at you,” he whispered as he leaned in and kissed the side of her neck, “You smell really nice.”

She laughed pushing him away, “We don’t have time, Oppa.”

When he released her, Yonghwa’s eyes roamed all over her body as if inspecting his prey before pouncing. But he smiled instead and she realized that he had been trying to fight the need to touch her. “You’re beautiful…” he said in a whisper.

Seohyun couldn’t help but giggle hearing him speak so softly and almost too carefully, so she teased, “You’re beautiful.”

He laughed recognizing her playful grin, “So where’s the other beautiful creature that we made?”

She shook her head still smiling as she pointed inside the room and followed behind her. Seohyun could feel his gaze lingered on her body as they walked and she shivered feeling exposed and loving the exposure all at the same time.  When they appeared in the periphery of their baby, Euna jumped extra eagerly as and grinned at her Appa.

“There she is!” Yonghwa cooed as he picked her up gently making the little girl even more giddy, “Look at you, you pretty little thing.”

“Can you keep her busy while I finish up?” She asked from behind heading for the bedroom when he responded.

“Finish up? You mean that,” he waved a hand at her, “Is not perfect yet?”

Seohyun laughed shaking her head then pointed a finger at him, “You’re about to reach your quota, Oppa.”

“Already? But I’m just getting started,” he faked a grumble and she just couldn’t help but to control her laughter as she disappeared to the hallway to her bedroom.

It was the night of the party and a few nights after their not-so-grand declaration of love. Coming from the man who usually made grand gestures like that converted room for Euna and the garden gazebo, Seohyun actually imagined he would do something big and romantic. So that very simple declaration actually knocked her off her feet.

It was the sweetest and most honest she could ever hope for and it would still make her smile just thinking about it. And she noticed something too— Yonghwa was not rushing things and was actually taking this with careful steps. She was grateful for that small space he was giving her because she could truly not trust herself with him yet. The pain he caused still lingered somehow inside her and she knew it would be staying there for a little while longer. Not until she was sure and strong enough to face another hurdle that she would totally commit to him.

After making sure she was good to go, Seohyun stood slowly and pressed her hands along the soft lines of her dress while looking at her reflection on the mirror. The dress was simple, empress cut, lace bodice and all flowy silk contouring her figure. The soft waves of her hair were falling on the sides of her face, her make up was soft and light just the way she wants it. Smiling to herself, she took a deep breath and walked out of the bedroom with a box in her hand.

Once she walked in the living room, Yonghwa and Euna both looked up to her but their expressions said different things. Her baby was just wearing her ready smile for her even babbling and pointing at her but soon her eyes dropped back on the toy in her hand. But Yonghwa, his face brightened for a second but it transformed into that smoldering one she recognized from before.

And the moment he stood and walked over to her, her whole body seemed to have been ignited. Seohyun sighed in his arms when he just wrapped his arms around her and kissed her cheek.

“Lovely,” he said as he touched the tip of her hair then smirked, “I really can’t wait to show you off.”

She laughed hearing that, “But I thought I was showing you off tonight?” Before she could say more, he tucked a finger under her chin and kissed her softly like he was taking care not to mess with her make up. And when he released her, she smiled as he ran his thumb on her lower lip.

“You still look perfect,” Yonghwa smirked then looked over his shoulder, “I was thinking we would get interrupted again.”

She grinned watching Euna on the floor which she didn’t like at all because of that dress she tried to keep clean but chose not to mention. Then, she replied, “Well, she’s busy.”

“We should keep her busy so we could do more…” Yonghwa gave her a playful wink.
