Her pulse seemed to drum with the beat of the loud music as they entered the club. She felt so different like she was wearing someone else’s body. She might as well be. This day she decided to do it over the top— this night especially.

When she overheard her parents’ conversation it was the last of it for her.

It was either she allow them to continue controlling her life or she should start taking hold of it.

Now this was her last card.

Tonight she would show her appa that she still hold the power over her future not him.

This was her last act of defiance.

This would be mindblowing she was even scared of the outcome.

But she would do it.

This was her last choice.

She shivered at the touch of skin on her arm.

“Are you okay?”

She turned to Yumi and nodded, “Yeah, never been okay.”

Her friend grinned, “Well, what else are we waiting for.”

She laughed as her friend pushed her inside. Their other friends were already there and waiting for them. It was a weekend so the dance floor was filled with people. She touched the tip of hair and remembered how short it was.

The cold wind brushed on her nape.

She took a deep breath as they made their way against the throng of people but she decided not to look just yet. There was still this hesitation in her mind— the last ounce of hesitation. She just needed to find the right one. Until then she would put this ‘plan’ on hold.

It could be tonight, or tonight could just be the start.

She still had a few months before she knew her parents would start acting on their plans.

Finally, they reached their friends’ corner and she was glad that it was a little further from the chaos of the people dancing. They squealed once they saw her ‘new’ look.

“Oh my god, Seohyun! What have you done?!” Megumi reached her and wrapped her arms around her, “I swear I could barely recognize you!”

She laughed, “I just did a little overhaul,” she shrugged with an exaggerated move of her shoulder, “That’s all…”

“This is what you call little?” Sumi, the only other Korean girl in their gang raised a brow at her, “But you did a good job!”
