Chapter 39. That Person

His advances were getting extreme. Seohyun was basically hanging on this thin film of self-control she put up when she had decided that the day would come she would just allow herself to take him on that offer of ual exploration. But whenever she would face him, there was still this fear of the enormity of the consequences that would follow. Yes, she was in love with him and giving herself completely to the man she loves was part of her admission of that feeling.

It wouldn’t all be about lust.

But she wanted to know how it would feel making love— making love to him. The man who should be loving her just the same as she loves him.

And Yonghwa wasn’t that.

Although she knew that there must be something in there inside his heart for her, but it wasn’t probably the piece she wanted. She wanted to be that woman that he loves as well. She sighed. If only Yonghwa had already fallen in love with her.

Was he even capable of loving?

Has he ever fallen in love?

Seohyun sighed as she shook her head and pulled her gaze away from his reflection in front of her. He was standing behind her fishing for something inside one of the drawers in the walk-in closet. She was also there arranging her clothes inside the closet he long ago offered to her. It was still weird doing this. There was something about finally putting her personal things in this space, something so permanent which really was out of their arrangement.

She didn’t want to do this at the beginning since packing her clothes has always been an aversion. She didn’t like packing. There’s always this melancholic sense in the act, like she was about to go someplace else and never return. And now that she had grown close to him— to his life, she couldn’t just begin to imagine when the time comes she would need to pack.

“Does it fit?”

She almost gasp when his voice suddenly came as boom in her silence. Only then she noticed the red material in her hand. She looked at it for a moment then lifted her gaze on the mirror noting how he was looking at her waiting for her to reply. Seohyun nodded with a smile.

Then, she spun around when the thought crossed her mind.

He had always been keen on teasing her and she should probably retaliate— just to give him that small dose.

“It does,” she replied noticing that he changed his shirt. He just came home from his weekend morning jog which she didn’t join in since Euna was still asleep before he left. Fixing her red dress on one hanger, she spoke nonchalantly, “But I have a little problem.”

“What?” He asked behind her.

When she turned back at him, she noticed that seriousness on his expression like waiting for the problem. She smiled and answered almost shyly, “My mommy tummy is a bit of a problem.”

Yonghwa found himself laughing at that but stopped abruptly when she started taking small, slow steps to where he was standing. There was this naughtiness in her eyes that he couldn’t really make out. His eyes scanned her features until his gaze roamed lower onto her body. Yonghwa spoke in a whisper, “I don’t see the mommy tummy.”

“It’s there…” she smirked watching that expression, knowing that she was getting what she was intending to get from this conversation.

And then she went for the kill, “And I need you to help me get rid of it.”

Yonghwa’s brows furrowed for a moment, gauging her expression, making sense of what she was saying. Until his grin shown and he asked, “What do you have in mind, Seohyun-ssi?”

Seohyun-ssi.

Seohyun noticed he would often use that when he was flirting. She smiled and walked a little closer until she was only a step away from actually having her chest touch his. With a small shrug, she continued, “I’ll tell you only if you promise to help me.”

He was obviously confused at what was actually happening. There was something refreshing at the way she was looking at him, her body seemed to be in tuned with his, her voice low and mostly sultry.

He was feeling something down there.

Getting hold of his internal pause button, he managed to reply, “I promise.”

“Hmmm…” without hesitating, the tip of her forefinger landed on his chest. Carefully, Seohyun moved it down and down until it reached the waist band of his sweats; her eyes following the movement of her finger. She could feel his intake of air.

She could as well feel the tingling sensation it was causing her own body.

Somehow it felt good.

Somehow she wanted more.

But then again, this was not about that.

Seohyun’s gaze lifted up to his face and her finger traced his torso back up. Her hand stopped just on that part where she knew his heart would be, she smiled, “Exercise…”

“Exercise?”

The grin on Yonghwa’s face could possibly lit the room. She nodded and bit her lower lip for a second before speaking, “Just the two of us…”

Almost an hour later, Yonghwa grunted out loud and Seohyun laughed. He had been groaning and grunting since they started exercising.

But she ignored him, just as she had been ignoring him for a while. She just wanted him to feel how she would feel every time he would . It wasn’t the same, of course, but somehow she would get frustrated. He would tease a lot but he didn’t seem to do anything about it. It was not that she wanted him to do something but—

Seohyun shook her head as she huffed.

She couldn’t even understand what she wanted anymore.

Distracting her own thoughts, Seohyun looked over her shoulder where she placed Euna’s extra crib that was usually in the living room. Her baby was wide awake now, happily munching on her toy and kicking her little limbs as if in tune with the nursery song playing in the background.

“You know, this doesn’t make sense.”

She bit her lips to stop herself from laughing out loud then adjusted the speed of the treadmill so she could sprint instead. Looking over her shoulder, she noticed that Yonghwa was lying on the floor with the weights on each side of him. He was panting, his sweat-drenched shirt was pulled up that a small part of his abdomen was visible. Seohyun swallowed and looked away then asked, “What doesn’t make sense?”

“This!” Yonghwa sat up with leg folded and arms hanging on his knees. He wiped his face with his forearm and muttered out loud, “There’s another way for you to lose that mommy belly I don’t even see.”

“Which is?” She found herself asking too late to realize that she should have just dismissed him because asking only encouraged him.

“. Lots and lots of hot sweaty ,” Yonghwa smirked shifting so he could face her, “I’ll make sure you’ll sweat it all out.”

She laughed, “I’m sweating it off right now.”

“ is even more pleasurable.”

She shivered.

She knew that with him would definitely be pleasurable.

She should end this talk. But then again, she found this kind of conversation quite entertaining especially when he would start getting seemingly frustrated that the joke just only showed how he truly felt. Somehow, she had this conflicting feelings with this since, despite what everybody claimed of him being with different women, she could tell that he hadn’t been with any women.

And his frustrations would really— possibly only be fulfilled by her.

Just her.

That thought— just that thought made her shiver.

Because there was still this fear that hid inside her.

Now that she had fallen helplessly in love and given up that thought that she really did— now, he had her heart. All she had left for herself was her body. If she gave that up now, she’d probably have nothing more left by the time their agreement would be over.
