Title: (8/10)
Very cliche title, but I really like it because it's misleading. It's simple and has the readers thinking about what the plot is actually about, will it be a happy ending like the title states or a major plot twist where the question really is, "is there such thing as a happy ending?"
Foreword: (13/15)
No layout was used but a layout is not required for a good story. The foreword is simple yet elegant. It's deep and meaningful and really has the audience thinking about the story more. It was a really clever tatic to use the rhetorical question as it evokes many emotions.
Characters: (15/20)
There wasn't really much stated about the characters, but through the dialogue, the audience can tell what the characters are like. I really love reading this because the stark contrast in their personalities amaze me. How can a man be so selfish and how can a woman be so naive? I love both of them equally despite one of them having a really bad attitude towards love. The character development was sort of weak however, I would've like to read about if she died or not, or if she got revenge on Jaehyun, and maybe, instead of using her stage name, the author should use her real name to allow the readers to connect with her more.
Narative Elements: (28/30)
Little information said about the setting and no grammatical errors, which I'm extremely grateful of. The delivery of the point of views were on point, and the narration of the story flowed really well.
Plot and Theme: (26/35)
The plot is a bit cliche, but aside from that everything is alright. I really like the way the author describes Jaehyun's selfish personality and how it impacts Joy. The way the author describes Jaehyun's appearance through Joy's perspective is also heartwarming as it depicts what love can make you feel and see in one person. A break-up was used as a theme in the story, and I admit I'm a er for romance stories with break-ups in them because they add more emotion than the normal, cute, fluffy romance stories one which are usually about high school students falling in love. This story has a lot of emotion as it is about two fully grown adults who have functioning lives, and really portrays the cruel world we live in. A really good portrayal of a cliche plot.
Entertainment Factors: (10/10)
I really enjoyed the idea of the story, even though it was a bit cliche, but the author makes up for it with great descriptions.
Overall Score: (99/120)
REVIEWER'S NOTE:
Overall, it was a wonderful story to read, perfect descriptions and evokes many emotions from readers. A really great portrayal of the world and what relationships are like in reality. Very angsty, bittersweet and I loved every bit of it.
