Hoseok: Meet and Greet

OneSS

Aya Sumoki is a famous Japanese dancer that has just won in the finals in a latest competition. She goes to the fan signing where she meets a rather special fan boy...

I walk in the grand hall to the centre stage, already hearing the fans cheer my name in volumous shouts. I took a bow and waved at them, which they screamed even louder. “Hello, I'm Aya Sumoki. Its great to see you guys at this fansigning,” they all cheered and clapped, seeing a wave of posters with my name in both Japanese and Korean. I couldn't help but smile even wider. Seeing so many people to see and support me throughout my struggling months of practising for the finals. And luckily, it paid paid off. I was even more amazed by how much people send me wonderful messages on my blog... Especially how much I have inspired many into dance.

As soon as the crowd settled down my manager Jihun (a.k.a my closest friends) spoke on the mic that we are starting the signing. I sat down at the table on the stage and the fans had already made a line up at the far end. “You should be happy you aren't in Busan still,” Jihun whispered as she sat down beside me and set a water bottle for the two of us. “the fans would be having a brawl just to see who would be the first one in line.” I nudged her, who was stifling a laugh as I glared. When I went to Busan just a few days ago for a fan signing... well, let's just say that the fan signing had to shorten for the day.

The security guards unlatched the rope to the stage and the fans had made their way to my table. I smiled as one gave me snap shots of my latest competition and I signed each 8. “You really are an inspiration, Aya. I would never made it so far in my hip-hop school competitions if it wasn't for your dancing,” the girl blushed and smiled shyly. I chuckled.

“Hip-hop? I guess we both are the coolest dancers then.” I heard her laugh slightly, as I slid the photos back to her. “thank you so much for coming today! It was really great to meet you.” I waved at her and when she did too, I went back to signing more things from the fans. There was many range of the ages amongst all – some as young as 12 years old. A little girl came up to me and gave me a medium size Totoro plush; which I gasped.

“Totoro!” Jihun took it from my hands and threw it in the air with her hands. I shook my head and sighed. Jihun seems to love gifts from the fans – whether they were fan art, little packets of snacks, or even plushies. I always let her keep some of the plushies as well, because the fans knew how good Jihun was at being my manager in my dancing career that they give me them to give to her.

It was almost an hour and a half of signing posters, taking pictures, and just talking to them and answering questions they might of had, I called for the next person in line. It was a boy, who was fairly tall and had dark hair with his bangs neatly brushed to cover his brows. Even when he looked incredibly shy as well as with his blushing cheeks, he was pretty cute. I almost forgot that I was still in staring at him until Jihun nudged me by the rib to make me blink back to reality. I looked over at Jihun; who whistled. “Wow, you're cute.” it was as if she was reading my mind. Jihun placed her chin under her hand on the table, looking at him with a small smile.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed by how dumbfounded she looked. The boy chuckled nervously, which made his blush grew even deeper in his dimples. “U-um,” he rubbed the back of his head and gazed down at the table; unsure what to say.

“Hey, don't be so nervous. It's just my ridiculous friend of mine who would fall for any guy in any day,” I gave her a look, which this time she glared. I motioned him to lean closer to the table so I could whisper my next few words in his ears. “only for a guy who gives her gifts,” I heard him snicker, and Jihun sighed.

“I heard that. One more word from you  Aya and I will make you practice for an extra hour on the weekdays,” she crossed her arms. I knew for a well fact that with that teasing smile of hers, it was just for show. We both laughed, which the boy seemed less tense now. Our laugh eased when I broke it with a cough.

“So, what's your name?” I say, looking down at the snap shot photo that he gave me. He smiled shyly as he mumbled his name.

“J-Jung Hoseok,” I signature it with my name right after and handed it to him. “do you do any dancing?” I asked.

He nodded. “I actually am a hip-hop dancer for a while. I go into the largest studio here in town... that my dad owns.” I couldn't help but let my jaw drop open. He grinned with my reaction.

“Wow, I'm speechless.” I closed my mouth and chuckled. This guy has his dad a studio that his son would practice in? Damn lucky.

“Maybe you both should give each other pointers, I’m sure that would be great,” Jihun smiled at the both of us. Hoseok blushed again.

“That would be really cool, actually.” He stared at me for a while, and nodded with a grin. “giving pointers to an idol I look up to? Wow, talk about turn of events much.” we both laughed until we heard a beep of a phone ringing. I looked over at  Jihun; but she shook her head indicating that it wasn't her phone. Hoseok suddenly cursed; which took me by surprise and I looked at him.
“Sorry, my mom is calling me to go home right away. God, this is embarrassing,” he shook his head. I shrugged, chuckling.

“Don't worry about it. My mom can be the worst at coming in the right time.” he laughed, which made me grin just by seeing his cute smile.

“Oh! Before I go,” he took out a camera. “Is it alright if I could have a picture with you?” Nodding, Jihun offered to take the picture of the both of us. He said a thank-you to Jihun and turned to me.

“Well, it was great to meet you, Hoseok.” he smiled.

“Again, thank you so much. It was really great to meet you in person.” Grinning, I gave a small wave which he returned before he got off the stage, and I couldn't stop but stare at him until he walked further and further out into the area. I sighed. Never, in all my fan meet and greets, that I have wanted to see one particular fan once more.

After that fan signing that went throughout until late night I crashed in and woke up pretty late. Luckily I didn't have to go to any more of those things – I had a week off before I go back to  my hometown: Sakae in Nagoya, Japan. Since Jihun was too busy making a schedule for my future dance competitions, I ate lunch out alone in the district. Walking around, I saw many sales on caps, and I was trying to find that one cap that I wanted to bring to me when I go home (as well as for Jihun) and after the many searching in the many shops, I found the perfect one, and bought two of the same cap.

I took a break from the shopping and went to buy a milk bubble tea, and as I sat myself in a corner booth of the bubble tea cafe I saw a figure walk in and already they caught my eye. He slowly walked over to me, as if I was a wild deer.

“A-Aya? Aya Sumoki?” he continued to stare. I rolled my eyes.

“Yeah, it's me. And you're the guy from the event yesterday... Jung Hoseok, right?” he chuckled.

“Just call me Hoseok,” he grinned. I nodded slowly, pushing my drink aside and letting him sit across from me. “what are you doing here in the district? Don't you have any other events to attend to?” He put his black Adida's gym bag off to his right side of the chair.

I eyed his bag whilst talking. “Yesterday was my last one for the week, before I go back to Japan. You're heading to the dance studio?” I pointed to his bag, remembering what he told me yesterday.

He nodded. “Yeah, I am. I decided to buy a drink along the way. Funny how we meet today again too,” we both laughed at that one. I sipped my drink; my mouth filled with boba before I completely swallowed it.

“You know, you're an pretty interesting fan. I mean, I never met anyone who was so into dancing in hip-hop. Possibly the only boy I know who I am a role model to.” He laughed – a rich, honey filled tone filled my ears. I couldn't help but smile how nice it was.

“Are you saying I am the only the fanboy?” he teased. “What? Of course not! I've met many fanboys,” I tauted. He smirked, resting his head back on his seat. Of course – he wanted to know more of me, and so why not I let him?

“Say, Hoseok. Why don't we hang out after your dance practice? Just the two of us?” he blinked, as if what I just said was just a trick of some sort. He raised his brows, cheeks blushing.

“W-what? Are you asking me out on a...” I laughed, taking his hands in mine.

“Yes, you can consider that I'm asking you on a date. Just a regular date, not as a fan to idol, but a person to person.” He pondered for a second, until he nodded with a broad smile.

“Okay, I'll accept that.” we exchanged numbers, and when we parted ways I told Jihun about him.

“WHOA! You're dating one of your fans?!” she was practically screaming in the dorm.

“Shh, he has a name you know,” I chuckled. “What about the presses? And your dance competitions?”

I shrugged it off. “He can help me with the dance practice, and I think it will be more fun to get new ideas besides with my dance instructor.” I checked my phone to see if he replied to me in a text, which he did just 5 minutes ago. I quickly changed and said a farewell to Jihun (who still was in complete shock) and I met up with Hoseok.

Throughout the entire time we hang out, I didn't see him as a fan. He was just a regular guy, who had the same strong heart in dance as much as I had my heart in it too. I was able to laugh with him, share my stories with him, and it was cute little kisses from time to time that showed that he too respected me as just a regular girl – not a famous idol. “Thank you so much for today.” I replied when he dropped me outside my dorm.

“Anytime – it was great to hang out with you, Aya.”he planted a soft kiss on my cheek, causing me to blush. Before he walked away I swiftly grabbed his wrist and returned the kiss – on his lips. It was rather quick, but soon he swooped in and kissed me right back, his hands wrapped around my waist and mine around his neck. We broke apart when we heard Jihun squealing at the front door.

“Hurry inside or I will not give you any lunch break for next practice!” she had a playful smile lingering on her lips. I sighed, looking at him.

“See you, Hoseok,” Smiling he waved a hand before I saw him walk back to the station. I sighed, letting my friend wrap an arm around me and managed me to be back in the building. Jung Hoseok, I thought whilst in my head. My one fan... and lover.
