“If you’re a wolf, don’t you eat meat? Why do you want kimchi fried rice?” you asked as you began to pull out the ingredients.

Luhan was seated at the counter, watching you in case you passed out again – or at least that’s what it seemed like he was doing.

You never really knew what was going on in his mind.

He was hard to read, unlike you.

“Well I only take the form of a wolf,” he explained, “I don’t really carry all the traits of a wolf – Like I don’t have a natural urge to hunt animals or anything.”

You couldn’t help but smile a bit to yourself as your back was facing him. If he ever did hunt an animal in front of you, you would bring them back anyways.

Quickly, you began to sauté the kimchi and onion in a greased pan over the stove fire. You performed the task quite skillfully for someone who wasn’t a professional chef.

You remembered the first time you had learned to cook, you were so afraid of the hot grease touching your skin.

Now, you didn’t mind.

You watched as the vegetable colors began to look a bit transparent before adding some butter, garlic, and soy sauce. Then, you continued to sauté the dish.

“It smells nice,” Luhan commented, “Guess you can actually cook.”

You rolled your eyes, “I live by myself. Of course I have to know how to cook and take care of myself!”

You couldn’t help but add a bit of attitude to the statement since the comment was rather unintelligent. It was obvious that you would know how to do household chores like this. Quickly, you added some meat to the dish and resumed to sauté until the whole dish was cooked before you added some rice and red pepper paste.

“Hey,” Luhan pointed out, “Don’t forget the fried egg.”

“Well maybe I don’t have any eggs,” you mumbled, annoyed from all his demands – if he was so needy, why couldn’t he just do this himself?

However, all you heard was his voice become riskily close to your ear, “Did you say something Jung. Ha. Yeon?”

The way he emphasized each word to your name made all the hairs on your body stand up. How could someone so good-looking be such devilish?

“I didn’t say anything,” you immediately replied before the boy could transform into his wolf form and scare you that way.

You could feel him pull away, “That’s what I thought.”

Sighing, you topped the dish with a fried egg and salted it to a good taste. Then, you poured the dish onto a plate and handed it to him – or did you shove it in his face?

“Hm, feed me,” he smiled, giving you an innocent look.

You raised an eyebrow, “…What?”

You didn’t remember Luhan being this annoying when he was a wolf – but then again, you didn’t know him that long and you had been afraid of him in that form. However, asking you to feed him – that was a bit pushing it.

Luhan gave you a look, “Feed. Me.”

“Why should I do that?” you crossed your arms after setting the dish on the counter, “I already made this stupid dish for you!”

“Because I said so,” he replied, “Because you took me in. Because you considered me your new pet. Because I’m just a poor boy who is tired from carrying your basket up the stairs. Because this is your form of repayment for me saving you.”

Narrowing your eyes at him, you couldn’t help but scoff, “I don’t have to do what you say. People don’t feed their pets like this! They just give them food, you know? Besides, carrying a basket isn’t that much work and I’m already repaying you by letting you stay.”

“Did you say no?” his eyes began to change from the dark brown color to the shimmering yellow you had seen earlier.

You gulped. Was this the warning sign that he was about to change? Grabbing a spoon, you scooped a spoonful of the kimchi fried rice and you held it in front of him.

“Eat you stupid wolf,” you mumbled that last part to yourself, “If I weren’t so terrified of you when you transformed, I would’ve kicked you out long ago. You’re just so unfair.”

Luhan just grinned, taking the bite, “Life’s unfair.”
